We can tell this is an action film/adventure film
because of the gunmen shown in the background
to give us the effect war and violence. The castle
also shows power, and tells the audience that
whoever owns this has authority over everyone
in the castle

In this image, the lighting is very sinister
and dark, giving the audience a hint that

In this shot, the camera is showing a long shot of the pirates about to be hanged.
This is used to show to power and the pressure of the men. The child in the
centre is to show the innocence of the pirates and that maybe some of them
were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

This shot is a high angle shot. This gives the impression of the pirates fear and as it
zooms in its the fear and pressure building. The child is centre to make the
audience feel sorry for the pirates and makes people believe that they don't
deserve death.

In this shot, the camera is showing a mid shot of the boy looking up at the noose.
The way they have shot it make the noose seem bigger than the boy so its almost
like its evil and its taunting the idea of death right in front of his face.

the boy because the noose represents death. This makes the audience feel sorry
for the boy because there is no hope for him.

In this shot, the camera is showing a close up of the boys hands holding a coin.
This is to show the unity of the pirates and that even if they get killed there will
still be pirates in the world. It could also be seen as the greediness of the pirates
and how they want to be rich and have abundance of treasure.

important to certain people. This make the audience feel sympathy for the pirates
especially the boy since he is so young.

In this shot, the camera is showing a long shot of the pirates and the gunmen. The
pirates are on one side and the men on the other, this creates a conflict between
them both that is clear for the audience to understand.

This shot is a high angle shot. This gives the idea of the power the men have over
the pirates. This is also shown by the shackles and chain the pirates are wearing.
It makes the audience feel that the evil people are the men even though in most
film pirates are seen as the baddies.
