4. At the center of the Solar System
Rise the sun
And then the planets one by one
All the things elliptically in a plane
You can remember them each by name
Mercury’s the smallest
And the closest of them all
Venus is hot and romantically called
Earth is the planet we live on
And then Mars where the Martians come from
Jupiter’s the biggest and filled with gas
Saturn has rings
Like the brim of a hat
Uranus and Neptune
Are cold ice blocks
And Pluto’s just a semi-planetary rock
Don’t forget the asteroids
Out gas mass floating on the board
Moon and comets make up a list
Let’s go back now and see what we missed
(Repeat 2nd stanza)
And that’s the Solar System
The way that I was thought
If you want to know much more
You better become an astronaut
