This document summarizes the challenges facing Ukraine's security and independence. It outlines that Ukraine has lost value to NATO members, threats to its statehood have increased, and its military capabilities have significantly deteriorated. Specifically, key points made include: 1) Ukraine will likely not join NATO for the next 10 years; 2) Threats now endanger Ukraine's very statehood; and 3) Ukraine's military is in rapid decline and incapable of defending against current threats. The document argues Ukraine needs new security assurances from partners interested in its sustainable development.
