Ottawa (AFP) - A legal representative for a Canadian senator in the center
associated with an expense scandal Monday accused his very own Tory
leadership of "driving a mob track down him," while denying any wrongdoing.

2. On Tuesday, Canada's Senate is to vote on motions whether to suspend them
without pay, accusing them of "gross negligence."
"The problem is not with Senator Duffy. It's together with the existing rules,"
his lawyer Donald Bayne told a press conference.
Bayne said Duffy was repeatedly assured with the Senate Tory leadership
along with the prime minister's office that his travel and housing expense
claims were valid.
But because the spending hasn't been sitting well with voters, including the
ruling Conservatives' supporters, Bayne said the optimal minister's office
concocted a scheme to pay off the prices as a way to make an effort to
