2. Analyze the learners
The learners are a 4th grade class from a rural city.
The class contains 10 girls and 8 boys, and 85% of
the class is white and 15 % is African American.
Four students in the class have mild attention deficit
hyperactivity disorder. In the class there are all
learning styles: auditory, visual, and kinesthetic.
3. Main Objectives
The 4th grade students will list important concepts
about the frontier. The students will do this through
different methods including hands on activities such
as a song provided by teacher and model making
with materials also provided by teacher . The
students should perform at a 80% accuracy rate.
4. Day by Day Breakdown
Day 1: Before the frontier
Introduction
Discuss why people moved west.
Day 2: Journey to the frontier
Discuss types of transportation and make a model of their own
Day 3: Daily life on Frontier
Write a letter back home explaining daily tasks of the frontier
Day 4: Important people
Create a profile for important people of the frontier
Day 5: Native Americans
Discuss Native Americans of western frontier.
