• Love one another.

3. AGAPE LOVE
• A sacrificial love that voluntarily suffers
inconvenience, discomfort and even death for
the benefit of another without expecting
anything in return.
• The highest form of love that regards the
object of that love as infinitely precious.
4. LOVE IN ACTION
• 1 John 3:18
Dear children, let us not love with
words or tongue but with actions and
in truth.
God so loved the world that he gave.
5. LOVE SEEN IN PRACTICE
• The necessity and advantage of the grace of
love.
• It’s possible to be lavishly open handed with
our gifts and money, but not have an open
and loving heart.
• If we give away all we have but withhold our
heart from God, it will not profit us.
6. 1 CORINTHIANS 13
• Some of the effects of charity (love) are stated,
that we may know whether we have this grace;
and that if we have not, we may not rest till we
have it. This love is a clear proof of
regeneration.

7. LOVE IS…
• PATIENT – it never gives up.
• KIND – extending good to others.
• NOT ENVIOUS – doesn’t want what it doesn’t
have.
• NOT BOASTFUL OR PROUD – arrogant and
inflated with pride.
• NOT RUDE – unseemly, discourteous, uncivil
to others.
8. LOVE IS
• NOT SELF-SEEKING – not insisting on its own
right, its own way.
• NOT EASILY ANGERED – touchy, fretful,
resentful.
• KEEPS NO RECORD OF WRONGS – takes no
account of the evil done to it – pays no
attention to a suffered wrong.
9. LOVE
• DOES NOT DELIGHT IN EVIL – makes allowances
for the fall or failings of others.
• REJOICES WITH THE TRUTH – when right and
truth prevail, even if someone else looks good
rather than me!
• ALWAYS PROTECTS, TRUSTS, HOPES, PERSEVERES
10. LOVE IS THE GREATEST
VERSES 8-13
• Now, we are like children trying to grasp
things that are way beyond us – but then we
will know.
• Now, we have only a poor idea and
understanding – then we shall understand
fully.
11. LOVE IS THE GREATEST

• All other things, experiences, gifts,
have a ‘use by’ date on them but
not LOVE.
