2. Canton Dog Park: Rules
Dogs are to be on-leash when entering and exiting the Canton
Dog Park’s fenced-in area.
Those exhibiting excessive barking and/or aggressive
behavior need to be immediately removed.
Please, clean up waste and deposit it in the receptacles
provided.
Users must be 18 or older. Children ages 6 to17 may enter
with a parent or guardian; those younger than 6 are not
permitted in the Canton Dog Park’s fenced-in area.

Only two dogs per handler are allowed at one time.
Dogs should be in view and under the voice command of
their owners at all times. They must never be left unattended.
Do stop dogs from digging; users will otherwise be
responsible for refilling the holes.
4. Canton Dog Park: Not Permitted
Dog-related items: Toys, balls, discs, food or treats, or pinch,
prong, spike, or chain collars
Dog conditions: Those off-leash, under the age of four months,
in heat, or with contagious diseases, or internal/external
parasites
User items: Food, alcoholic beverages, glass containers,
strollers, skateboards, roller skates or blades, or bicycles
Smoking
Animals other than dogs, or professional dog trainers using the
Canton Dog Park space to conduct business
5. Canton Dog Park:
Registration for Returning Users
Renew dog license. The cost is $5 before April 1 and $10
after April 1. A current record of rabies and DHLPP
vaccinations is required. The Bordetella vaccine is
recommended.
Renew annual Canton Dog Park membership. Registration
for:
– Residents, $25
– Non-residents, $50
6. Canton Dog Park:
Registration for New Users
Purchase dog license and complete complimenting form.
The price is $5.
Submit a Canton Dog Park waiver, and a current record of
rabies and DHLPP vaccinations. The Bordetella vaccine is
recommended.
Purchase annual Canton Dog Park membership. Registration
for:
– Residents, $25
– Non-residents, $50
7. Canton Dog Park:
Key Fobs - a New Program This Year
To track and more efficiently monitor use of the Canton Dog
Park, the Canton Parks Division is issuing an electronic key fob
program this year.
Once returning and new users have accordingly registered,
they will be given one free fob.
– A second can be purchased for $15.
– If users require more than two fobs, the request must be
submitted in writing and if accepted will cost $15/fob.
Fobs are to be scanned upon entry and used in consideration
of Canton Dog Park’s dawn until dusk hours of operation.
– Lost fobs are $15.
8. Canton Dog Park: Additional Info
Use of the Canton Dog Park is at users’ own risk.
Users are legally responsible for their dog and any injuries
and/or damages caused by their dog.
Canton Township and its Department of Public Safety reserve
the right to prohibit the use of the Canton Dog Park to any user
who is in violation of Township Ordinance Sec. 50-47 –
Domestic Animal.
9. Canton Dog Park: Safety is Our Priority
The Canton Parks Division wants to ensure the
safety and fun of its visitors.
Aggressive dogs, therefore, are to be immediately
removed from the premises as to prevent injury.
Toys and food can provoke such behavior, so we
ask that you leave these items at home.
If a dog becomes too unmanageable, please notify
the Canton Township park ranger. Or, in the case of
an emergency, dial 911.
