  1. Life is digital and social. There’s no separation anymore for most people between on and offline lifes. There is no “second life” -- just life. iPhones have brought location-based social technologies to the forefront with services like loopt . Annoying people text and tweet during movies. Tweets now are on t-shirts and Twitpic gives you instant backstage access to the American Idols tour…if you are into that. Click on the images to see for yourself.
  2. Flash mobs have gone from being a harmless prank to a marketing and PR opportunity. The best of this new breed, which still kept the spirit of the original flash mobs, is the Hammer Time promotions. Click on the images to see for yourself.
  3. “Rick Rolling” has gone from being a harmless prank to a fairly cool (yet disturbing) mashup, at least in this example of Nirvana vs. Risk Astley. Click on the images to see for yourself.
  4. OpenID was going nowhere until there were social benefits. Now with Facebook, Google Friend Connect, and Twitter all jumping in we’re seeing single sign-on and open-ID moved to the masses. Click on the images to see for yourself.
  5. Even offline networking is going digital with Poken and similar products and billboards and print pieces instantly are interactive from anywhere with QR codes.
  6. Let’s talk about that Mad Men Promotion! So much is great. Everyone was talking and sharing. The least a show about advertising can do is get people talking! How did Eight O’Clock Coffee get such a lame sponsorship opportunity here.
  7. Reinvention of branded presence. It’s about what they say, not about what you say. The social moves to the forefront and fear of the conversation moves to the background.
