• Role - Analyze their personal strengths and weaknesses.
• Audience – Grade 8 students & teacher
• Situation – Their present life and the commitments they have.
• Product – Create a collage/ poster
Directions:
After completing their personal inventories the students have to create a bar chart or a similar symbol which
will show how much time they allocate to activities on a typical school day (sleep, school, exercise, homework,
face book, TV, computer games, reading etc).
They should also include an ideal bar chart or pie chart for comparison. Around the bar charts they will design a
collage using a variety of materials (magazines, drawings, pictures) which depicts their interests and activities
and how much ‘balance’ is in their lives.
The poster must also include THREE Reflective paragraphs- which clearly explains:
• PARAGRAPH 1 - the dangers of over –commitment and the importance of time-management
• PARAGRAPH 2– describe the areas in your life which needs improvements, how you can improve these
using practical solutions and why it is important to improve them
• PARAGRAPH 3 – describe the areas that are balanced, an explanation of how you can maintain these and
why it is important to maintain them
