-o = masculino (m)
-a = femenino (f)

we change from singular
to plural!

• Nouns ending –o/ón are masculine
• Nouns ending –a are feminine
• Nouns ending –e refer to both

• An adjective is a word that describes or modifies a noun.
• In Spanish, the adjective must agree with the noun it modifies or describes:
• El muchacho americano es alto
• La muchacha americana es alta
• Los muchachos americanos son altos
• Las muchachas americanas son altas
78. PLURALES
• Plural means “more than one”. To form the plural in Spanish:
• If the noun/adjective ends with vowel + -s
• Mesa mesas
• If the noun/adjective ends with consonant + -es
• Ordenador ordenadores
• If the noun/adjective ends with -z the z disappears + -ces
• Lápiz lápices
