Source A: An account on the weapons made by Qin people The weapons found with the clay warriors were well-made. Archaeologists found that the weapons had not rusted and even remained shiny and very sharp. Analysis has shown that Qin meta-workers used chrome, an anti-rust metal, on the surface of weapons. Under his influence of Legalism, people who broke the law received harsh punishments such as execution and forced labour. Later Chinese dynasties continued to adopt Legalism but did not impose many of the harsh punishments Legalism advocated. All other books except those on the teachings of Legalism were burned. One of his infamous acts was the building of the Great Wall of China. He used forced labour and this caused much resentment among the people. He also made the common people work for free on other public projects such as roads, canals, palaces and tombs.
