Pope Francis on Mercy
I think we too are the people who, on the one hand, want to listen to Jesus, but
on the other hand, at times, like to find a stick to beat others with, to condemn
others. And Jesus has this message for us: mercy. I think — and I say it with
humility — that this is the Lord's most powerful message: mercy.
Parish Meeting
A meeting will take place on Wednesday 3rd February at 7:00pm in the
Fr. Curley Room, Carraroe Community Centre in preparation for the
visit of Bishop Kevin on 9th February. Refreshments will be available in
the Community Centre after the ceremony in the Church which begins
at 7:00pm on the 9th February. We need parishioners who will
help with catering and the distribution of food on the night.
Please come along to the meeting if you can help on the night.
Parish Council News
The Parish Council are looking for volunteers who will help with the
organisation of events in our parish such as parking, large funerals,
Confirmation, the Holy Well etc. If you are interested please contact
Paddy Loughlin, Pat Benson, Joe Scanlon, Maura Marren or Fr. Jim.
Most parishes have Stewarts who assist at the variety of events which
take place in their Church. Would YOU like to volunteer?
2. Accord
Accord are looking for suitable people to train as Marriage Care Facilitators
at the Sligo Centre. Please contact the Sligo Office for further information

Bereaved
Please remember in your prayers Fr. John Leogue, Athleague, priest of the
Elphin Diocese, brother of Mary Hough, Woodtown Lodge whose funeral took
place on Wednesday in Athleage. Also, Paddy McDonagh, brother of Kitty
Doyle, Cairns Road, whose funeral took place on Tuesday. May they rest in
peace.
Rosary
A reminder that the Rosary takes place before morning Mass at 9:40am and
on Sundays at 9:10am. Please come along and join the community in prayer.
Adoration for the Family
Takes place this Tuesday beginning at 7:00pm. This hour is a
combination of prayer, music and a variety of reflections. Please come
along.
Lakeview ICA
Monthly meeting takes place on Tuesday 2nd February at 8pm, followed by a
Flower Demonstration.
Tobernalt Holy Well
As we approach the season of lent, the Holy Well offers us a special
opportunity to reflect on the events of Holy Week by pondering and
praying at the Crucifixion Scene.
Concert
An evening with Melinda Dumitrescu, violinist form Medjugorje will take
place in St. Mel's Cathedral, Longford on Sunday 14th February at 7:30pm,
or Castlecourt Hotel, Westport, on Tuesday 16th February at 8:00pm. Also
taking part are Louise Irvine, Soloist, Francesco Capoferri, Italian
Tenor/Guitarist. Cristian Rosoaga, Organ/Keyboard and Paul Brinzila, Song/
Dance. Admission Free. Love Offering Welcome.

Divine Mercy Conference - Dublin
The Divine Mercy Conference will take place at the RDS, Dublin
from 19th
– 21st

Bishops Visitation
The Bishop will visit the parish of Carraroe with St. Anne's on 9th February.
He will visit our school and the sick during the day. In the evening we will
have a commitments ceremony for Confirmation Children at 7:00pm followed
by refreshments in the Community Centre. Both the ceremony at 7:00pm and
the refreshments are open to all our parishioners. Please come along.

Defibrillator Meeting
A Very successful meeting took place in the Community Centre during the
week in relation to the Defibrillator and its use in the Parish. The meeting
acknowledged the work of the group who set up the two defibrillators in the
parish and the new committee will continue on this work n relation to
training, service, names of those who will use the defibrillators etc. Next
meeting will take place on Thursday 4th February at 8:15pm. in the
Community Centre.
