ISYU TUNGKOL SA SEKSWLADIDA (ISSUE ABOUT SEXUALITY
Group1 pbl presentation
1. A Healthy Heart Makes
You Smart
An overview of what we will be doing in PE in the following weeks
2. What We Will Be Doing
Students will act as project planners to plan a day full of
physical activity for the entire school (a “Play Day”)
Students will have a say in how the entire day is set up
and what activities we will be performing
Research their favorite activities that we keep them
physically active (examples: basketball, jogging, or any
other unique form of exercise)
Use technology to determine what activities the students
will benefit the most from (intensity, calories burned, etc.)
All of this information will be used to plan the Play Day
3. Technology Being Used
Heart monitors to monitor heart rate
Pedometers to count steps and measure distance
We will use the school’s computer lab for a few research
days, however students are encouraged to research at
home if they have the means necessary
All of this WILL be provided by the school PE department,
but if you have either of these devices at home, feel free
to use them
4. The Play Day
Each group will decide on what activities they want to
include in the play day
We will do our best to include as many of the activities as
possible
The students will be running their own activities
5. Questions We Want to Answer
Essential Question:
How can we make a difference in students participating in daily,
lifelong physical activity?
Unit Questions:
Why is it so important, in relation to health, to stay physically
active on a daily basis?
What are some practical activities that we can do daily to help
us enjoy a lifetime of physical activity
Content Questions:
What is healthy physical activity?
How do you create a daily workout plan?
How do you know if you are making healthy improvements?
6. What Students Will Learn
Students will be able to:
Have a knowledge of how to maintain a lifetime of physical
activity and health
Help others develop and plan daily physical activity through
this project
Explain how physical activity and inactivity can affect their
health
Understand and explain how to value physical activity
7. Role as a Teacher
Supervising research and making sure students are
heading in the right direction
Meeting with the groups 2-3 times a week to make sure
they are grasping the concepts
Providing examples of physical activity and providing the
tools necessary for research including, but not limited to,
articles and websites
8. Standards We Are Meeting
National Association for Sport and Physical Education
(NASPE) standards 3 and 5:
The physically literate demonstrates the knowledge and skills
to achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical
activity and fitness
The physically literate individual recognizes the value of
physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, selfexpression, and/or social interaction
9. How Can You Help?
Hold your students accountable. Ask them questions on
how their project is going and offer them feedback
Research at home with them.
Offer suggestions about what type of exercise you like to
do and how you personally are staying fit
Show them that a physically active lifestyle is important
and helpful
10. Contact Information
Three instructors will be working together to conduct this
project, if you have any further questions, please feel free
to email us, or call us during our office hours posted on
