Proprietary Property of Home Helpers © 2009 $15 - $24/per hour Local average hourly rate for non-medical and personal in-home service: $2,749 ($32,985 annually) Idaho average monthly rate for a private one bedroom in an assisted living facility. Examples of care and the costs involved: Idaho average daily rate for a private room in a nursing home: $185  ($67,675 annually) Idaho average daily rate for a  semi-private room in a nursing home: $172  ($62,605 annually)
How will I pay for care? ,[object Object],|  Each office is independently owned and operated.  Proprietary Property of Home Helpers © 2009 Payment resource How it works Private Pay Uses private income, assets and investments. Long-Term Care Insurance Pays for care at home, in assisted living facilities, at adult daycares, and in nursing homes. To qualify, the person receiving care must meet specific  health requirements and be able to afford the cost of care. Reverse Mortgage Uses equity in the home to pay for long-term care insurance or to directly pay for in-home care. (A reverse mortgage is also called a Home Equity Conversion Mortgage or HECM)  Government Assistance You can apply for Medicare and Medicaid benefits. Veteran’s Assistance Veterans and/or their spouses may qualify to receive financial aid to help with care costs.

Proprietary Property of Home Helpers © 2009 Agencies Registries Home care agencies like Home Helpers employ, train and supervise their employees. They are responsible for making sure quality care is provided to the patient.  Registries act as a “matchmaking” service between the independent contractor and the patient.  Interview, check references and conduct a criminal  background check on its caregivers. Do  NOT  interview, check references, or conduct a criminal background check on the caregivers. Manage and supervise the caregiver. Do  NOT  manage or supervise the caregiver. Maintain a payroll system, pay the caregiver,  and provide records to the government.
