Near Basghatta village, Paswan tola the RCC bridge has been washed out, the road communication of Dumari, Sahnauli, Basghatta, Gangia, Madhvapur, Tehbara, Nawada Banpura and Mohanpur villages of the 6 panchayats of Katra block has been discontinued. The normal life in these villages has been hampered. People of Mohanpur and Tehwara are taking shelter on the embankments. People are bound to use the boats for communication at higher charges of communication cost.

1. Situation Report: 3 North Bihar Floods

Current Situation:
1. Muzaffarpur:
• Near Basghatta village, Paswan tola the RCC bridge has been washed out, the road communication
of Dumari, Sahnauli, Basghatta, Gangia, Madhvapur, Tehbara, Nawada Banpura and Mohanpur
villages of the 6 panchayats of Katra block has been discontinued. The normal life in these villages
has been hampered. People of Mohanpur and Tehwara are taking shelter on the embankments.
People are bound to use the boats for communication at higher charges of communication cost.
• The repairing of Jamindari embankment has been completed at some the possible weak points.
• There has been severe damage of paddy crop due to flood water in these flood affected areas.
2. Samastipur :
• Situation in Samastipur district is remain normal while in a panchayat of Bithon block in the four
villages water has entered the fields.
3. West Champaran:
• Due to regular water discharge from the Valmiki Nagar barrage the Auroi river embankment has
breached and water reaches at the Shiktha Railway Station. Intense soil erosion has been reported in
Yogapatti, Nautan and Barria blocks of the district.
According to Central Water Commission the water level in Bagmati and Kamla were flowing above the red
mark. Bagmati was flowing 0.60 meter above the danger mark at Dubbadhar and 0.64 meter at Kansar and
Chandauli.
Kamla Balan was recorded 0.50 meter above the red mark at Jhanjharpur Railway Bridge (88), in Madhubani
district.
