Fast growing states:  Southern and Western: Nevada, Arizona, Texas, Georgia Midwest – steady Northeast – decline  Teachers who are geographically mobile and who obtain licensure in more than one subject have advantages over others.  Content areas most available include mathematics, science, bilingual education and foreign languages Job opportunities are more abundant in inner cities (high demand) and rural areas (due to lack of resources)

In the interview your answers to questions asked should reflect that you know about the job you have applied for. You need to persuade the employer that you are “the” fit for their needs.

Fast growing states: Southern and Western: Nevada, Arizona, Texas, Georgia Midwest – steady Northeast – decline Teachers who are geographically mobile and who obtain licensure in more than one subject have advantages over others. Content areas most available include mathematics, science, bilingual education and foreign languages Job opportunities are more abundant in inner cities (high demand) and rural areas (due to lack of resources)

  • 7. In the interview your answers to questions asked should reflect that you know about the job you have applied for. You need to persuade the employer that you are “the” fit for their needs.

  • 11. Telephones Making Calls: Get directions Find out who you are seeing Get information Be courteous Leave messages Be patient VOICE: smile Receiving Calls: Clean up voice mails Ring tones Roommate issues Return calls promptly Do not be a nuisance
  • 12. Times and Locations On time is not “on time” Be 15 minutes early just incase they are ahead of schedule Cancel your appointment instead of being late Know where you are going and who you are to meet Building, floor, name of person(s) Be courteous to everyone

Attire (common sense) MEN Suit: 2-pieced matched, conservative colors & fabrics, and tie Shirt: long-sleeved, white, light blue, or conservative strips Socks: dark, no skin Shoes: leather, business Belt: matches shoes Facial Hair: well groomed Jewelry: conservative Detailed: clean, well-pressed, tacking, tags No Odors WOMEN Suit: 2-pieced matched, conservative colors & fabrics, avoid extremes Skirt: appropriate length Shirts/Sweaters: under suit jacket, don’t attract viewers Jewelry: conservative Cosmetics: conservative make-up, nail color, length Shoes: style & height Purse/Bag: small, coordinated No Odors
