Not all deployments are equal
Most of today’s deployments are fixed or portable
Clearwire, Packet One, UQ, Yota, and KT Wibro are the
exceptions, not the rule when it comes to deployment types
Some deployments are not what one would generally call
commercial – i.e. govt. agencies DISA in the US
Certification
WiMAX Forum certification results include both D and E
On the device side, certification still revolves around data devices
(CPE, modems, laptops)
Certification has not kept up with Forum promises
– Didn’t hit 100 certified products goal for end of 2008
– Predicting 1,000 certified products by end of 2011
