2. Removable Partial Dentures by design are
intended to be placed into and removed
from the mouth.
 Because of this they cannot be rigidly
connected to the teeth or tissue. This
makes them subject to movement in
response to functional loads, such as
those created by mastication.

4.  In human body, movement can occur in any
of the three fundamental planes which are
mutually perpendicular to each other and
therefore intersect at right angles.
 There are also three axes called the
transverse axis, vertical axis and the saggital
axis.
 Rotation movement of RPD around any of the
three axes can occur only within the plane
that runs exactly perpendciular to that axis.

6. Movement occurs in this plane relative to a mediolateral axis that is
perpendicular to the saggital plane

7. Movement in this plane occurs around a vertical axis that is
perpendicular to the horizontal plane

8. Movement in this plane occurs relative to an anteroposterior axis
running perpendicular to the frontal plane
