POSITION: SENIOR SALES ENGINEER / BUSINESS
DEVELOPMENT MANAGER– Process Automation
Industry
CITIZENSHIP: MALAYSIAN
AREA OF COVERAGE: Peninsular Malaysia and occasionally East Malaysia.
SCOPE OF WORK: The successful candidate would be a member of the
sales team of the Sales Division. He would be
responsible for the sales of process automation
components and systems.
REPORTING LINE This is an executive position and reports directly to the
Sales Manager – Process Industry.
2. PERSONAL PROFILE: The ideal candidate should possess
1. A Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in the field of
engineering; preference is for disciplines in
mechanical / chemical / process / mechatronics and
industrial automation
2. A good understanding of the water & waste water
industry or process industry would be an added
advantage.
3. The ability to work independently to deal with
special projects under minimum supervision.
4. An understanding of sales planning and some
strategic thinking
5. An ability to build strong customer relationships.
6. A reasonably good level of communication skills in
both written and spoken English as well as Bahasa
Malaysia.
7. Ability to work with public-sector employees and
main contractors and sub-contractors.
8. Own motor vehicle.
9. Computer literacy especially in Microsoft products
with emphasis on Excel and Powerpoint
Preference is for a sales oriented person with some selling experience in this field.
However, we are willing to consider engineers without sales experience but who
possess strong technical background, good inter-personal skills and are keen to
embark on a sales career.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
The candidate would be needed to devise and implement sales strategies for the
sale of components and automation solutions for the water & waste water or
process automation industry. He needs to have the ability to develop good working
relationships with Festo customers.
3. RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. A good part of the job involves developing technical specifications and
generating proposals to end-users and contractors.
Many a time, these proposals are on very short-notice by the contractors
and the ability to work under pressure is a pre-requisite in order to meet the
submission deadlines.
2. Negotiating prices with customers with a view to securing the job for Festo
while at the same time generate the required profit margin.
3. As and when required, to make product presentations to potential customer
and end-users ( sometimes Government bodies )
4. Coordinate the installation and commissioning of equipment that has been
delivered to customers’ premises.
5. Liaising with customers’ technical personnel as and when required.
6. Where necessary, to assist Credit Control in ensuring that customers
comply with the credit terms and Company guidelines. Must be able to work
closely with the Finance dept
7. A voluminous amount of paperwork may be involved in putting together a
project proposal for the potential customer. To this end, the right attitude is
important as secretarial assistance is not always available.
EXPECTED REMUNERATION
We expect a basic salary of between RM 5,000 to RM 8,000 per month inclusive of
incentive depending on year of experience.
Other expenses like traveling etc incurred in the course of work will be
compensated on a reimbursement basis.
