2. • Valeo at Chicago Lakeshore Hospital is a full-service psychiatric and substance
abuse treatment program that focuses on individuals who identify themselves as
lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning (LGBTQ).
Valeo serves patients throughout the Midwest, assisting them in fostering a sense
of control over their personal lives and interpersonal relationships.

3. • Valeo is staffed by a team of skilled and experienced health professionals who are
particularly sensitive to LGBTQ issues and concerns.
Offering both inpatient and outpatient programs, Valeo specializes in a wide range
of treatment and intervention options for behavioral, mental health and substance
abuse or chemical dependency concerns.

4. • Valeo provides medically supervised detoxification, depression, and anxiety
disorder treatment; coping skills development; support system building; and a
variety of health care services targeted specifically toward the needs of the
LGBTQ community.
Higher functioning patients are served by the Valeo Intensive Outpatient Program
(VIOP), which is offered each weekday afternoon.

affirming therapeutic environment for members of the LGBTQ community. The Valeo staff is comprised of
