as the spiritual dimension. While there
is a lot of vocal music in the form of
songs and chanted poetry, there are
also bamboo instruments such as jew’s
harps, lutes, and flutes.

Mangyan of Mindoro is the threat of
industrialization (illegal logging) and
marginalization resulting from
encroaching neighboring ethno-liguistic
groups. However, non-governmental
organizations have been put up to
protect and preserve the Mangyan way
of life including Mangyan music.
