Eucalyptus deglupta, commonly known as the rainbow eucalyptus, is a tall tree that is the only Eucalyptus species found naturally in the Northern Hemisphere, spanning areas like New Britain, New Guinea, Ceram, Sulawesi and Mindanao. It is distinctive for its multi-hued bark, as patches of outer bark are shed annually to reveal a bright green inner bark that darkens over time to blue, purple, orange and maroon tones. While originally from areas like the Philippines, it is now widely grown in plantations around the world for use in making paper pulpwood.
