Key Takeaways/Learnings
1. Failure is an opportunity
a. The design thinking process is built on feedback and failure. Failure is one way that your idea didn’t work, so that means that there is an idea that will
work. The one thing that was reinforced by this course is that one shouldn’t be afraid to fail magnificently.
2. Visual Representations
a. Visual representations bring ideas to life through prototyping. An idea in one’s head can be the greatest idea of all time, but it will never come to fruition
if not prototyped and tested.
3. Ideation
a. The ideate process is a very good process to generate ideas to create a solution, but what is the most significant part of ideation is having a viable
problem statement.
Step 2
1. Ideation would be the best method of the design thinking process to utilize in a laboratory environment. It not only solicits ideas from the staff, but it allows for
the empowerment of the staff to have a say in their work environment.
