What is your age?
 From the question responses,
we can see that all people
answered were between the
ages of 14-25, with the main
group being aged 18-21. This is
a conclusive result as this
would be the stereotypical
target audience for the house
music genre.

What is your gender?
 Over half of the responses were
from males, meaning that we
could take advantage of the
male gaze theory, using
attractive women to make men
watch the videos. We can also
incorporate ideas from Michael
Shore’s theory of adolescent
males, who fantasize about
girls, wealth, power and speed.

What is your ethnicity?
• The majority of answers
given were White British.
Because of this, we will
design the video around the
reality or escapism of/for a
westernized culture.

What is your social class?
 This is a conclusive result as it
is what we expected from the
genre stereotypes. Because of
this, we can theme the video
more to entertain instead of to
educate. This is because lower
classes would rather be
entertained as they don’t want
to be challenged mentally.

What would you like to see in the
music video?
 The majority of people surveyed said that they wanted to see
attractive people just having a good time. We will use this idea for
the main shots in our video, so that it will mirror the target audiences
wants for the visual section of the video.

What shot types would you like for
the video?
 We will use short clips that
change rapidly throughout. This
was a conclusive result, as this
was the response we expected.
Due to the emphasized beat
present in the track, we will
match the shots up to change
when the beat is heard.

What costumes do you want to see
in the video?
 The majority of people said they
wanted to see “summer”
clothes, like the kinds of things
you’d wear on a holiday. This
provides the escapism element,
that people want from their
music videos.
 We will also incorporate normal
everyday clothes into it so that
the audience can relate to the
costumes worn.

What kind of “feel” do you want to
see in the music video?
 The main response was like a
fast-paced party feel. This is
stereotypical of the genre, as
many music videos of the
house style show people
partying. We expected this
result from the 4 options we
selected, as it is the one that
the audience are most used to.

What do you think the background
should be for our video?
 The most selected background
choice for our video is like a
studio/plain background. We
will go against this and use a
more party-ish background,
showing people having fun. We
have made this decision due to
previous answers given about
the video and from the
stereotypes of the genre we
have researched into.
