SYLLABUS DEFINITION
•   A syllabus is an expression of opinion on the nature of language and learning;
it acts as a guide for both teacher and learner by providing some goals to be
    attained.
• A syllabus is an outline and summary of topics to be covered in an education
or training course. A syllabus is often either set out by an exam board, or
prepared by the professor who supervises or controls the course quality.
    (wikipedia)
• Hutchinson and Waters (1987:80) define syllabus as follows:
     • At its simplest level a syllabus can be described as a statement of
what is to be learnt. It reflects language and linguistic performance.

• This is a rather traditional interpretation of syllabus focusing on outcomes
rather than process. However, a syllabus can also be seen as a "summary of
the content to which learners will be exposed" (Yalden.1987). It is seen
as an approximation of what will be taught and that it cannot accurately
    predict what will be learnt
CURRICULUM DEFINITION

• a curriculum is the set of courses, and their
content, offered at a school or university.

• A curriculum is prescriptive, and is based on a more
general syllabus which merely specifies what topics
must be understood and to what level to achieve a
  particular grade or standard. (wikipedia)

   2. The Situational Syllabus
   3. The Notional/Functional Syllabus
TYPES OF SYLLABUS

2. Process-Oriented Syllabuses

   2. Learner-Led Syllabus

There, when there’re many fish to catch, the local society call the season as
“petengan”. And, if the fish in the sea is hard to catch, they call the season as
“terangan”. Back to their wage, they earned 100.000 – 300.000 rupiahs a day

• b). Another information about the society, that not only they work as
fishermen, but also as ship drivers. The ship drivers, have a job to travel the
