Who has a library blog?Who writes for the library blog?Who is solely responsible for blog?
The idea for this presentation came while I was searching for ideas for news posts.I had a feeling I couldn’t be alone in this.Today, I wanted to discuss ideas for posts and give all of you an opportunity to share your ideas.
We’ll discuss where to start with thinking about writing for a library blog, look at examples for inspiration, and then talk about how to organize ideas and plan for blogging.
First question to ask:What’s the purpose of your library’s blog? What is your vision or mission for it?http://www.flickr.com/photos/courtneymcgough/2704127195/
Next question:Who is your audience?
What kind of tone do you want to set?How do you want to represent your library?A new blog, a new writer, or a new post offers a blank slate, but it helps to think about this as you start or change over time.
How much time and effort do you have to put into this?Think about how often you want to post and the length of the posts you want to put up.
So, let’s talk about some ideas for posts.I wanted to take this opportunity to share great ideas that have inspired me and to also share the great things I see happening in other libraries, particularly Georgia libraries.
