Coalco New York Focuses on Reversing a Threatening Trend
The increased use of coal as an energy source has brought with it a number of concerns regarding the health of the environment, and Coalco New York aims to develop products and services to solve associated problems of air pollution. Coal used as a source of utility plant energy currently accounts for some 1.7 billion tons of carbon dioxide poured into the atmosphere in the U.S. alone. The Coalco New York staff is well aware of coal’s role in forming the precursors to acid rain, and in releasing toxic substances such as mercury, lead, and arsenic into air, soil, and water.
