Introduction
An Attendance widget, which provides an
instant update of their current attendance
percentage and update records at the backend,
which is the administration department.
Symbiosis Institute of Design being a relatively
new institution had many unresolved logistical
matters. Few of them being insufficient notice
board space, haphazard communication and
notification processes which often lead to
mistakes in attendance records. Thus, this
resulted in long que at the administration
department every month.
This project focus on resolving issues of,
_ Communication between staff and student
_ Quick ratification of errors in records
_ Timely communication to the parents of
records
_ Accessible class schedule and assignments

Persona Creation
My name is Sandeep kaur. I am the head
administration staff of Symbiosis Institute of
Design, My job is to:
• Take attendance
• Distribute assignments to students
• Attend to inquiries
• Make schedule for classes
• Coordinate with teacher
• Make attendance chart
• Prepare notices
I find the students very reckless at times with
there knowledge of notice boards. There have
been incidents where students have approached
me directly for the information which is already
put up on the notice board. These enquiries
are primarily for attendance percent ratification
or class schedule. At the beginning of each
month there its a mess in the office, question of
student complaining about number of issues
After taking attendance, I start taking inquiry
calls and rest of my paper work, which includes
collecting student assignments, making
notices. At times the work load is so much
that distributing assignments to each student
becomes a very messy job.

constructed a rough sketch of the widget.
Focusing on the goal and the feature I studied
widgets on various operation systems such
as Apple and Windows. Drawn below is the
concept I chose to take forward.

Feedback/Testing Surface
Primarily done through feedback from associated
faculty and administration staff. The data points
it revealed are as follows
• Too many number of clicks
• Too many functions
• Can be complicated, and tedious to learn
• Turned out to be more of an application than
a gadget
• Content feeding/retrieving at the back end
becomes more tedious.
After the brief testing, the scope was re framed
keeping mind the essential requirements. The
primary interaction was kept mouse over to revel
the required information.
