The slides that go with my Assistive Technology Demo as given to WordCamp Bristol on 13th May 2017.
I demo Dragon NaturallySpeaking - voice recognition software, and NVDA - a screen reader.
The slides introduce the demo - and contain a few of the common commands for each of the two pieces of software demoed.

• Primarily used by those with motor impairments
• Control your whole PC – not just for browsing
the web.
• I do use it to write documents now
• Lots of voice commands to learn

Simple stuff
• Wake up/Go to sleep – Switch Dragon mic on or off
• Move up/down, Page up/down – Scrolling the page
• Go back – Press the back button
Links and buttons
• Click links – Highlight all links on page
• Click buttons – Highlight all buttons on page
• Click linkname/buttonname – Action that link/button
• Choose n – Choose one of the links/buttons

Form fields
• Click fieldname – Move focus to that field (assuming that
labels are marked up properly)
• Click type text – Highlight all text boxes
• Click checkbox – Highlight all checkboxes
• Click radio button – Highlight all radio buttons
• Click list box – Highlight all selects
• Expand list/show choices – Show choices within select
• Move up/down n – Move between options in select
• Hide choices – Hide choices in select, but selecting the
option that was highlighted.

Emulating the mouse
• Move mouse up/down/left/right – Move mouse pointer
• Faster/slower – Speeds up/slows down movement
• Stop – Stop mouse cursor
• Mouse grid – Show 9 rectangle grid
• 1 - 9 – Zoom in to portion of the screen
• Mouse click – Click mouse
• Drag mouse up/down/left/right – Drag items

14. Some Useful NVDA Keystrokes
The ‘NVDA’ key is the Insert key by default on Windows. It
can be changed in settings.
• NVDA + Q – Close NVDA
• NVDA + N – NVDA options
• NVDA + F7 – List links, headings, regions
• Ctrl + NVDA + down or Ctrl + NVDA + up – change speed
• H – Next heading
• K – Next link
• Alt + down – open select box
• NVDA + down – start reading from here
• Ctrl + left/right – prev/next word
