2. Front Cover Sketch Unfortunately due to having taken a picture with the image to high to the top I had to make a few adjustments with my front cover compared to the actual sketch, I am happy with the final results though.
3. Contents Sketch I feel I’ve pretty much kept the design of my contents page to how I’d sketched it. Generally if you have an idea and keep to it you are more likely to be happy with the end results.
4. Front Cover Sketch PT 2 Trying to empathise the fact that the magazine is free by making the ‘free’ bit bigger and all in capitals. I want the main image to stand out for anyone who sees the magazine, even with quite a few cover lines Again making the free theme noticeable to the potential reader. A catchy main cover line that rolls off the tongue, made much more bolder and loud than the other cover lines due to it’s importance.
5. Contents Sketch PT 2 Main article of the magazine in the centre area so that it’s the first thing the reader sees. All 4 stories are of equal importance so all have a similar sized picture and similar sized text underneath. The editors note has a slightly bit more space around it. However during the actual production the space for the editors note grew and as such that extra space disappeared.
6. Magazine Inspiration One of the main things I like about the Ace front cover is how can contain plenty of cover lines without taking anything away from the main image. One of the weaknesses is the fact that there is no selling line, something I have no desire to repeat. The design here is something I will try to go along similar lines with for my contents page.
