leadership related publications.
 Her Her published book titles include “Destination
Wholeness – Going Beyond Brokenness,” “The
Whole You – Vital Keys for Balanced Living” and
“Intelligent Conversations: A mindset shift
towards a developed Africa, she is co-author of
“Success Within Reach.” Her latest book The
Wealthy Diary of African Wisdom will be launched
in July 2016.

The Authentic self
When you're asked, "Who are you?" what is your
answer?
• Is it what you do, what your social station is, or
how you see your function in life?
The Authentic self
The authentic self is the you that can be found
at your absolute core. It is the part of you not
defined by your job, function or role. It is the
composite of all your skills, talents and
wisdom. It is all of the things that are
uniquely yours and need expression, rather
than what you believe you are supposed to be
and do.
Personal leadership questions
• Who AM I?

• Where AM I going?
• How will I get there?
• What will be my LEGACY?
Assignment (1)
Find time for a half day or full day away for a personal
retreat and prayerfully reflect, review and respond to
these questions on paper. Develop a road map of you life
for at least one year

• Write a eulogy to be read at your funeral. It should
feature every important and significant thing you would
like to hear being said about you as you are being
carried to your final resting place

Wheel of Life Exercise
Directions:
 This wheel contains eight sections that, together, represent
one way of describing a whole life. The structure is up to
you. The exercise measures your level of satisfaction in
these areas.
 It is not a picture of how it has been in the past or what you
want it to be in the future. It is a snapshot taken in the
moment
 With the center of the wheel as 0 and the outer edge as an
ideal 10, rank your level of satisfaction with each life area
by drawing a straight or curved line to create a new outer
edge (see example).
 The new perimeter of the circle represents your Wheel of
Life. How bumpy would the ride be if this were a real
wheel?

Role Model, Coach or Mentor?
 Making the right choice will determine your
interaction with the individual.
 A role model is an individual in which the behaviour
is observed from a distance.
 A mentor is someone that the individual works with
on a fairly regular basis. It involves observing the
mentor but also includes the opportunity for
discussion, evaluation and progress through 2-way
communication between the mentor and the
mentee.
 The individual and their coach on the other hand
have a task based relationship. A coach looks at you
work and gives you advice on how to improve your
results

 Where have you recorded your achievements and
accomplishment for the previous year?
 How have you celebrated them?
 Who has genuinely celebrated with you?

  • 13. The Authentic self When you're asked, "Who are you?" what is your answer? • Is it what you do, what your social station is, or how you see your function in life?
  • 14. The Authentic self The authentic self is the you that can be found at your absolute core. It is the part of you not defined by your job, function or role. It is the composite of all your skills, talents and wisdom. It is all of the things that are uniquely yours and need expression, rather than what you believe you are supposed to be and do.

Assignment (1) Find time for a half day or full day away for a personal retreat and prayerfully reflect, review and respond to these questions on paper.   • 18. Are You Living A Balanced Life? Wheel of Life Exercise
  • 19. Directions:  This wheel contains eight sections that, together, represent one way of describing a whole life. The structure is up to you. The exercise measures your level of satisfaction in these areas.  It is not a picture of how it has been in the past or what you want it to be in the future. It is a snapshot taken in the moment  With the center of the wheel as 0 and the outer edge as an ideal 10, rank your level of satisfaction with each life area by drawing a straight or curved line to create a new outer edge (see example).  The new perimeter of the circle represents your Wheel of Life. How bumpy would the ride be if this were a real wheel?

Role Model, Coach or Mentor?  Making the right choice will determine your interaction with the individual.  A role model is an individual in which the behaviour is observed from a distance.  A mentor is someone that the individual works with on a fairly regular basis. It involves observing the mentor but also includes the opportunity for discussion, evaluation and progress through 2-way communication between the mentor and the mentee.  The individual and their coach on the other hand have a task based relationship. A coach looks at you work and gives you advice on how to improve your results
