2. ISO 31000 CERTIFICATION – COURSE+EXAM
SUMMARY
This course enables participants to become certified risk management professionals (Foundations
level). The training and exam are based on the ISO 31000 risk management standard which can be
used by organizations of any size, any industry, and any sector.
In this intensive three-day course, participants develop competence in the foundations of the ISO
31000 risk management standard. Based on in-depth teaching, practical exercises and quiz
questions that test their aptitude, participants acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to pass the
stringent exam. They do so by becoming familiar with the vocabulary, principles, framework and the
risk management process proposed in the ISO 31000 standard.
During the course, we will present the ISO 31000 Risk Management Principles and Guidelines and its
two companions, the ISO Guide 73:2009, and the ISO/IEC 31010:2009 Risk Assessment Techniques.

The “Certified ISO 31000 Foundation” exam meets the requirements of ISO/IEC 17024

Duration: 2 hours for 80 multiple-choice questions
Participants who complete this course will receive a Certificate of Completion. In addition,

risk management professional” (Foundations) Certificate from the Global Institute for Risk
Management Standards - G31000.

ABOUT THE TRAINER
Dr. Adel Bataweel is a consultant and chairman of risk
management department at King Fahad Medical City. He acquired
his PhD from the UK and worked in healthcare field since 1991.
He moved to KFMC in 2005 where he led and introduced many
technologies to help and improve the quality of life of disabled
people. Risk and safety had always been the main concern when
providing any technology in the healthcare in general and
specifically to disabled people. Dr. Bataweel has acquired
knowledge of risk management through his experience in the
rehabilitation field, Master of Business Administration (MBA) the
international certificate for risk management from the institute of
Risk Management (IRM, UK), certification in Enterprise risk
management, certified in Health and Safety professional, certified practitioner in the Management of
Risk (MoR®) and certified ISO31000 trainer by the Global Institute for Risk Management Standards G31000.
