2. November Highlights
Our inventory was started in the non-fiction section of the media center. This is
probably the most outdated area of the library. Many copyright dates were from the
1960s and 1970s!
As the inventory is completed we are also working on weeding the collection as we go.
Materials that are outdated, in dis-repair, or inappropriate will be taken out of the
collection to make room for more up to date resources.
New books arrived this month from our October order. These included many new
fiction books as requested by students and they have been flying off the shelves!
Also purchased were a collection of Chinese language and culture books to help
students that are taking the language. These have also been requested by both
students and faculty.
Resource lists were also compiled for IB Subject Area resources. Subject areas with
resources lists were science and psychology. These include online resources, book lists
through Destiny, periodicals, and online learning portals for the subject area.
Media Center Statistics
Student Visits:
A total of 4706 students visited the media center during the month of November, this
includes before school, lunches, after school, drop-ins and class visits.
3rd hour was the busiest hour during the month with many classes visiting due to lack of
computer labs elsewhere in the building that hour.
3. Class Visits:
There were 43 class visits to the media center during the month of November; the area
with the most visits was the language arts department with 26 visits! The breakdown is

61 classes reserved the media center computer lab throughout the month. The
department with the most visits was language arts with 20 visits, below is the
