3. With this conference vision we welcome you to the first steps in rediscovering yourself
through a great leadership experience process.
RYLF is not a beginning, not an end, but rather a great experience within a long
leadership development journey, which is unique to each person. The planned 500 delegates
at RYLF are a mixture of Romanian and international participants, who share a common goal
of putting into words what leadership means for them. This experience is a journey of self-discovery
through discovering others, discussing concepts and ideas, and introspection. The facilitators support
the delegates in thinking about what type of leader they are and who they wish to become and go
through this journey together.
By applying as a facilitator for RYLF 2013, you give your commitment to step into a 4-days
intense leadership journey. We would love to have you there, and engage in meaningful
conversations.
We wish for all of you that in writing your application, you will already feel a glimpse of
inspiration and excitement. This is the first step into your personal leadership journey as FACI
on RYLF 2013. We are so much looking forward to receive your applications.

4. Application Process
In order to create the proper environment for all the delegates to experience this 4-days
leadership journey, we need competent facilitators. If you would like to be part of
this group, carefully read this document and apply accordingly.
The application has been designed to help you step out of the crowd and feel completely
comfortable with your application making sure that it reflects you, your personality and
your perspectives (E.g. you can create your own layout/design or choose to connect
questions). Your main focus should be on delivering the information we need to know,
though.
Before starting with your application, please read the following two sections carefully. They
tell you more about the overall conference goals and the profile of a facilitator at RYLF.
Goals of RYLF 2013
Delegates explore their values, passion and talents, their personal understanding of
leadership, and the connection of these elements to their lives and their environment.
Delegates are challenged to confront their current and future leadership both by
themselves and others, within AIESEC or otherwise.
All participants at RYLF 2013 have both benefited from and contributed to the understanding
and development of AIESEC in Romania, by receiving preparation on each area, and
increasing the level of understanding.

5. Facilitator’s profile
Here are some key characteristics that are recommended for being a facilitator at RYLF
2013. Fulfilling them will increase the probability of getting selected. If you have further
questions about this, contact plesa.dani@gmail.com
Having attended a Train the Trainer Seminar (TtT) or a comparable education that
enables you to intensively facilitate a homegroup of 12 delegates.
Training and facilitating experience that enables you to work on the implementation
and realization of the conference concept
Strong ability to interact with a group according to their overall and individual needs
Leadership experience in or outside of AIESEC (especially TLP, GCDP, or CEED)
Having attended at least one national conference as a faci or delegate
Being able and willing to invest time into the virtual preparation of the conference in
advance – RYLF 2013 for you will start when you got selected as a facilitator.

7. 2. Questionnaire
Answer the following 12 questions in maximum 2500 words (about 3.5 pages in Arial 10pt).
Conference and Facilitation Experience
1. Have you attended a TtT (Train the Trainer)? Which one (date, facilitators)?
2. Have you attended a national conference before? Which one?
3. Please tell us in some words about your training and facilitating experience.
4. Please state three strengths and three development areas of yours concerning your
personality as a trainer and facilitator.
Your Personality
5. What has been your most impactful leadership experience and why has it been so
special to you?
6. If you had to describe your personality with 3 words – which ones would you chose
and why?
7. What should one mind when working in a team with you?
Your role as faci on RYLF
8. Please explain your motivation to facilitate at RYLF 2013.
9. Please elaborate on your understanding of facilitating and training, and connect that
to how you see your role at RYLF.
10. If you could pass on one message to the next generation of RYLF leaders what
would this message be?
11. How is your availability from now until the conference? Are there periods of time in
which you cannot contribute to the session creation? If so: how do you plan to handle
it?

8. 3. Video
Show us in maximum 100 seconds (1:40 minutes) who you are, why you should be at
RYLF 2013 and what you can contribute to it. Please speak to a camera at least once.
Make sure the video has a good quality but is NOT large in size (e.g. compress it to .wmv
with windows movie maker).

9. 4. Session Outline
Please design a 2-hour session on the topic of “Introduction to Leadership” or ”Personal
Effectiveness” for a group of 12 delegates. Please use the overall session goals as a guideline and
create the outline according to the provided template.

10. Finalizing your application
We will be expecting two PDF files (CV+Questionnaire), a video file (e.g. wmv, avi, mpg) and
a Session Outline.
Your final application package (4 parts) should be zipped and named following:
“[RYLF] Name - FACI application” e.g. “[RYLF] John Johnson - FACI application”.
Once you finish creating your application package, the zip file should be sent to

Important information
Conference fee is totally covered for the selected FACIs!
Food, accommodation and transportation from Bucharest to the location from pre-conference until
post-conference is also covered.
