musicmagazine.

IPCMedia’saudience are primarilyfemale withalmost twothirdsof the UK beingfemale andjust
44% beingmale.Therefore,thiswouldbenefitmymagazine asthe targetaudience ismainlyfemale
teenagers.IPCMediadistributepopularmusicmagazinessuchasNME, Nutsand Uncut. These music
magazineshave aparticulargenre and are not mainstream,creatingastrongcorrelationbetween
my magazine andNME as theybothhave the genre of indie rock. Therefore,Ibelieve mymagazine
wouldbecome popularwiththisdistributorasit hasclose comparisonstothe magazinesthey
alreadyown.However,IPCMediaproduce magazinessimilartoNME and the indie rockgenre.This
couldbe a disadvantage asthere are alreadymagazineslike thisownedbythe companyand mine
may notstand outto readers.

Some of the strengthsthatBauermediahave are thatit distributesmagazinesin15countriesas well
as online.Thisisanadvantage whendistributingmymagazine asmytargetaudience (teenagers)are
interestedhighlyintelevisionandonline. BauerMediaproduce magazinessuchas‘Kerrang!’which
isa rock magazine,unlike mine whichisindie rockandtherefore thismediainstitutionmaynotbe
the right distributorformygenre of magazine.Also,asKerrang!isone of the bestsellingweekly
magazines,thiscouldbe anadvantage as mymagazine couldfollow the same route.
