This document provides an overview of the main hardware components of a computer, including the monitor, keyboard, mouse, motherboard, main memory, processor, hard disk, floppy disk drive, CD/DVD-ROM drive, video card, sound card, cable connectors, and other peripherals like printers. The motherboard is the main circuit board that connects most other computer parts, while the processor and main memory work together to store and process information for the computer. Input devices like the keyboard and mouse allow users to interact with programs and files stored on storage devices.
4. Keyboard Main input device for most computers. Used to input textual information to the computer.
5. Mouse Lets you feeds instruction in the computer by simply pointing or clicking in a graphical environment.
6. Motherboard Main circuit board in the computer. Practically all the other parts of the computer have a direct or indirect connection to the motherboard.
7. Main Memory Allows computer to store and retain information. Memory boards are motherboard – dependent , which means you have to buy only those that your motherboard accepts.
12. Video Card Most graphics cards today have at least 32 MB. Using a card that has less might cause problems with the computer you are building because many programs that use heavy graphics will not work.
13. Sound Card Converts data into sound to be sent to speakers or converts sounds to digital formats.
14. Cable Connectors Computer parts cannot come together by themselves. Most require cable connectors in order to communicate with the motherboard and the other components of the computer.
15. Other Peripherals Optional devices that you connect to your computer , like printers and removable storage devices.
