GOVT. SCHEMES
• APMDP Scheme is taken up to replace age old
pipelines with HDPE Pipes and construction of
filtration plant and ELSR’s are taken up with a
projected cost of Rs. 190 crore. Work is under
progress.
• Grant works like 13th finance commission, special
development funds, SC/ST sub-plan works,
MPLADS, CDP Works are under progress.

Town Planning
 Town planning wing is looking after the
approvals of building plans, layout plans and
regularization of unauthorized constructions in
the city under Building penalization scheme till
30th October.
 Removal of encroachments and junction
improvements.
 Protection of layout open spaces and municipal
lands.
 Advertisement tax collection and permission for
erection of advertisement hoardings.

Kakinada - Master Plan
• Master Plan of the Kakinada city was sanctioned in
the year 1975 vide G.O.M.s.No. 389 M.A. dt. 10.9.75.
At present the Building approvals are being accorded
as per the Master Plan.
• As per the instructions issued by the Director of Town
& Country Planning, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad, the
preparation of master plan for the Kakinada city with a
vicinity area of 5 kms, Planning area with surrounding
34 villages- 161.83 Sq.Kms around the city was
entrusted to the least bidder M/s. Aarvee Associates.

Stage of work:
• 4 consultative workshops were conducted with Hon
Collector, MLA (urban &rural),MLC ,RDO,MPDO..etc
along with various line departments and taken
feedback, suggestions,& their proposals in the
preparation of Revised Master plan of Kakinada city.
• Present the existing Land use map and report
prepared by the consultant is submitted.
• Proposal for Draft Master Plan is in Progress.

Revenue Details
• Revenue wing looks after the collection of
property tax, vacant land tax, water tax etc.
• Revenue wing has conducted survey to identify
under assessed and un-assessed properties in
the city and expects an increase of Rs. 1 crore in
property tax demand.
• Revenue collection during the year 2014-15 was
92% of total property tax demand.
• There are two revenue zones and five revenue
circles with 32 revenue wards and 70 revenue
blocks in the city.

 In Kakinada Municipal Corporation 101 slum areas
identified in which 6144 Self Help Groups have been
formed by the urban poor women up to 31-03-2015.
 During the financial year 2014-15 Target for forming
Self Help Groups fixed for Kakinada Municipal
Corporation is 97 as against 148 Self help groups
were formed up to the end of March, 2015.
 Pavalavadi,Vaddileni Runalu, Abhayahastam, Skill
Development and Urban self employment
programmes are the important activities under
MEPMA.
 Shelter for shelter-less has been inaugurated and is
now operational in Kakinada City with 25 inmates.
