11. Quick Thoughts:
Apple’s featuring makes a huge difference. The more an app is
featured, the better the app performs. If you’re an app developed
by Apple, well that’s even better: you’ll get featured in every
crevice of the AppStore
New Releases help keep an app visible, briefly. Shark fin results
are typical.
Great press (i.e. Highlight) won’t keep an app in great position for
ever and ever.
Top tier investor capital doesn’t help acquisition and engagement
(i.e. Glassmap)
Location based apps have seemed to plateau around mid-2012.
A lot of good effort by a half-dozen or so apps, but we may be at
the end of a peak. Perhaps its time to innovate in the location
category.
