2. I’m from crowded streets With stories to tell

3. With buildings to the sky The walking city

4. Burdened by a sheet of white That comes knee high

5. Not many memories of my original place Only a process of remembrance left in my case

6. I moved down 5 states to a more rural place A place where my memories overwhelm my mind

7. From hot summers of eating dairy queen And bailing hay

8. To cold winters of sledding And watching wood burn from a flame

9. With fall of colors vibrant enough to brighten any day To spring where the Japanese maple bloomed all day

10. Once again I moved on to a new place A place of Tar Heels And Deacons And a wolfpack With some Blue Devils

11. I’m from a place where the air is crisp to breathe An area so peaceful and beautiful Where you can hear the rustle of the leaves

12. I now call this home And have for 8 years

13. Although the thought of my prior home Can leave me fighting back the tears

14. So here I am now, becoming who I want to be With only the thoughts of crowded streets And a blooming Japanese maple tree
