LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Flashing lights and the sound of a police siren makes most people cringe
when speeding down the highway, but for speedster Jackson Crawford, it gets him jumping for joy.
"He was riding up and down the street in his car and he led night light target reminded me a lot of
my son," said LMPD Officer Bill Mayo.
Officer Mayo decided to stop and talk with
two-year-old Jackson and his mom Ashley
after working a minor accident in the area
Tuesday afternoon.
"My car lights were on so we kinda brought
Jackson in front of the police car and he
was riding around in front, to make it look
like I was fake pulling it

The high fives, hugs, and pictures taken
were endless.
"He just went above and beyond to put a
smile on my son's face yesterday and it was amazing," said Ashley.
"Just had fun really. It felt really, really good to make someone's day. It made my day too," said
Officer Mayo.
Aside from liking police cars, the two had even more in common.
"He had an awesome Ninja Turtles shirt, which I'm a huge Ninja Turtles fan," said Officer Mayo.
Officer Mayo said sometimes the wrong message can be perceived about law enforcement and it's
something he wants to fix.
"If I can make one child see that the soul and heart of policemen are to serve and protect and have a
little fun along the way, it means a lot to me," said Officer Mayo.
"Instill in him that officers are good, that he don't have to be scared of the police. You shouldn't be
scared of the police. These are people that he should turn to or go to when he's in trouble or has a
need or an issue," said Ashley.
Although it was just one small act of kindness, it made a world of difference in the life of a two-yea-
-old boy.
2. "This will be something he remembers for the rest of his life," said Ashley.
Jackson's mom plans to put the pictures of Officer Mayo and her son in his baby book.
