This document provides information about descriptive text. Descriptive text describes and reveals a particular person, place, or thing. It generally has two parts: identification, which introduces what will be described, and description, where features, forms, colors or other details of what is being described are stated. The social function of descriptive text is to describe particular people, animals, and other things to readers.
