What does mindset have to do with anything? People say this to me all the time. Seriously?? The correct mindset is needed for anything you do in life and for everything you want in life.

me all the time. Seriously?? The correct mindset is needed for
anything you do in life and for everything you want in life.
Here is a definition of mindset I found on Dictionary.com:
mind∙set or mind­set n.
1. A fixed mental attitude or disposition that predetermines a
person’s responses to and interpretations of situations.
2. An inclination or a habit.
I found an article called “7 Traits of a Highly Effective Mindset” (you can read it here)
If you don’t want to read the whole article, even though I recommend you do, I will give you a
quick synopsis. Here are the 7 traits:
1. Enjoys and appreciates the present moment. Happiness is a mindset that can only be
designed into the present. It’s not a point in the future or a moment from the past.
2. Connects inner purpose with outer effort. The most important thing you can know is
what’s most important to you. Your purpose in life is to find your purpose and give yourself to it.
3. Accepts and embraces great challenges. The most prolific days of your life won’t likely be
easy. It’s not in the serenity of your comfort zone or the inactivity of a lazy day that drives
greatness.
4. Self­disciplined. Without discipline, success is impossible, period. Discipline is choosing to
do what you know must be done, as often and as long as required.
5. Remains positive and focused through failure. Forget about failure. Trying alone is a
huge success. Regardless of what you’re trying to do.
6. Filters and channels anger effectively. Being angry is easy, and by itself anger gets
nothing accomplished.
7. Willingness and drive to help others. If you feel stuck in your life because you have lost
your direction, shift your focus from your circumstances to the circumstances of those around.
I would like to add one more item to this list. “Has an attitude of gratitude”. Being grateful for
every little thing in your life will change your mindset. Writing in a gratitude journal daily will
change you and will attract good things to you.
A positive mindset is so important for success in everything we do and is something we should
all work on. In fact, it is not something that comes easy. It’s not something people are born with.

2. It’s something we have to continually focus on every day.
Don’t worry if you fall back into your old habits of complaining or feeling sorry for yourself. We all
have days like that. I like to put positive and motivational quotes all around me so when I’m
having a day like that, I can read the quotes and get back into the positive mindset.
