1. Cyber-Bullying Sam Geiger
Background
The issue is that cyber-bullying should be illegal. This issue is very important
because there are so many innocent children suffering from cyber-bullying. It can lead
to many harmful things to many kids. It's not fair for all the children being harrassed.
According to statistics, cyber-bullying is more harmful than in person bullying.
This can be true in many ways. What is put or said on the internet will stay there
forever. Being syber-bullied may happen at any time. Another reason is that the bully
can remain anonymous so its harder to confront them and solve the issue.
More then 800 teens, 35% have suffered badly by this in just the past year. Many
other kids are affected without notice. It has gotten worse over time and there needs to
be a solution soon. This issue has gotten worse over time because technology has
gotten more and more popular.
Some examples of cyber-bullying is sending hate messages, creating websites
meant to humiliate a victim, fowarding private e-mails without permission, taking an
embaressing photo with a camera phone and posting it on the internet, setting up polls
on Web Sites to vote on who's the fattest, ugliest, or geekiest kid in the school, and
many, many more.
Laws have been created in other parts of the country. The problems can be
psychological, and physical in many ways. To help enforce these laws, any evidence
2. should be showed to the police. Cyber-Bullying happens because there is little
supervision in the cyber-world and it can be stopped.
