Awarding Credit

• In EOC courses in middle and high school,
  credit is awarded at the end of the year:
  – Average of 3 six-week or 2 nine-week grading
    periods = 75% of grade
  – Semester exam = 10% of grade
  – EOC test = 15% of grade*
    • *Credit will be marked ―pending‖ until EOC scores
      are received.
    • TEA will send scores to school districts in June—
      specific date TBA.

   Graduation Program Requirements
   (Default program for all NISD students; required
    by all 4-year colleges in Texas)
       Must take all 12 EOC tests.
       Must meet cumulative score requirements in each of
        the four core subject areas.
       Must achieve Level II Satisfactory Academic
        Performance on the Algebra II and English III EOC
        tests.

  1. There is an impact on the student’s graduation program requirements. This is very different from the TAKS tests. NISD students are typically enrolled in the Recommended Graduation Program because that is required by the state colleges.But, look at the bullets. Read the bullets. Remind the audience that Level II is not the minimum score and this could remove the student from the Recommended Program and move the student to the Minimum Program.
