My Teaching Experience Essay
When I first come to Saint Cloud High School, I was uncertain of how I would fit into the world
of education as a teacher, in fact, this was my first teaching practice. After completing a few
observations, I changed my view and recognized my teaching abilities. I was able to learn many
different things that will be helpful to me when I become a certified teacher someday. Although I
could face many possible challenges in the classroom, I have many of the strengths it takes to be
a good teacher. There were many times during this field training that gave me a broad idea of how
the ordinary life of a teacher would go. Similarly, I got a profound sense of how the classroom
environment is for most instructors. In general, I believe this was a pleasant experience for me, and
I learned a lot in such a brief period.
The educational unit I executed has an element of my instruction beliefs that students should connect
and relate theme content to real life situations inside and outside the teaching space. Therefore,
during my teaching experience, I feel compromise and responsible for meeting my students' needs

Many people have stated that I am a very patient man. I come through my patience naturally through
my mother, who was the most thoughtful, patient individual I have ever met. I've had the
opportunity of working in the Davis County School District as a substitute teacher and as the swim
coach at Bountiful High School. I have also spent many years coaching adolescents on a
competitive swim team. My experiences have been very rewarding thus far and have inspired me to
want to become a special education teacher through the ATP Program. I can't even begin to describe
the joyous feeling of knowing that I've touched the lives of the kids–– it is truly priceless. When kids

I make my way to class avoiding the students and setup and wait in the class until the bell goes at
half past 8. Outside the kids are eagerly waiting to be let inside, like a pack of puppies waiting for
you to open the door just so they can jump all over you with their muddy paws. What do they eat,
must be something like froot–loops. Which would explain not just the sugar rush but a for a few

announcements and ask the class to take their chairs to assembly. When we arrive I round up my

As I begin my teaching career and the years prior to it, many ideas and decisions will take place.
Being that I plan to teach elementary school and deal with small children, I plan to be excessive on
classroom accessories. Children have a limited attention span and a dull, plain room would not be
appealing to them. The adjustment of leaving "mommy" will be hard enough for them anyway. I
hope to make the environment comforting and welcoming for them. Bright colored bulletin boards
and posters with needed information on them. I would like my students seated around the room in a
circle. From experience, I've found that children feel more at ease and apt to speak up when seated

I teach because of my insatiable passion to motivate, inspire, and to positively impact my students in
a way that will encourage lifelong learning. I believe the best way to positively influence any student
is to first build rapport with them. After I establish that relationship, I will proceed to teach and lead

I am going to be a teacher because God has chosen clearly to use me to teach children and youth to
become men and women of God. God has not only gifted me in ways that trace back to a life of
teaching, but has shaped my life to prepare for teaching. I was never formally asked to be a
teacher. I actually never really wanted to be a teacher during my childhood. I saw it as a taboo

There are many different styles of teaching and learning. Some teachers choose to make students
simply memorize information. Other teachers like to lecture while their students take notes. Yet
others choose to be very interactive in the teaching/learning process. I feel that a combination of all
these different styles is the best way for both teacher and student. There are times when a straight
lecture format is needed, and then there are times when memorization is needed. I believe that
interaction, visualization and actually applying what is learned is the best way for students to

My Dream As A Teacher
My dream is to become a Teacher so that I can encourage and influence young children to reach
their full potential no matter what circumstances they come from. When I started first grade my
family had just moved to Conroe Texas, so I started out with no friends coming to a new city and
new school. Thankfully I got the best teacher in the whole first grade at Geisinger Elementary.
Her name is Mrs. Thompson. She was the teacher that always greeted us at the door and when we

As children, we absorb information and learn from experiences that mold us into who we are.
Many individuals impact a child's life, but the most powerful and influential role lies in a
devoted teacher, a teacher provides growth to students as a gardener would to a garden of flowers.

have started to work as a teacher assistant in a school for autistic children.
Teaching is a challenging task. One shall perform his duty with the highest degree of excellence,
professionalism, intelligence, skill, and with utmost devotion and dedication to ensure the quality of
education. It is also the noblest profession. A teacher carries numerous responsibilities. Her task is
not just simply delivering the lesson inside the four corners of the classroom but rather serves as the
second parent of the students and therefore loves and cares for her students like her real children. As
an educator, I strongly believe that nurturing and nourishing all students must be my utmost concern.
I dream of students whose fullest potentials are developed to make them become responsible
citizens. They must be properly taught to read, write and speak both English and a second language.
They must use these languages as an avenue for self–improvement and community building. They
must know how to process ideas, compute numbers, solve problems, apply concepts, and make

Teaching Styles
As an educator I need to be flexible in my teaching styles, what works one year, may not work the
next, and even day to day can change. I believe that it is important that I reflect daily on what was
successful and what could have gone better. I then make the adjustments to my teaching. As a whole
though, my teaching approach I believe is very similar the the progressivism theory of education.
"Progressivists believe that education should focus on the whole child, rather than on the content or

Motivation in teaching comes from an innate need to better students' lives; being a teacher means to
relentlessly strive to motivate students to succeed. As a motivator, teachers also have an innate
ability to guide students in education and career choices. This is where teachers excel as counsellors.
