Milestone 3: Motivation For High School Students
With so many of life many failure attempts to succeed in life, we see those individuals that have
dropped out of school and feel that their life now seems meaningless. Their determination or will
power wasn't strong, and they had no one to push them forward to want to be a better person or
succeed in life. Some students today feel that all they have to do is just attend school just because
of their parents' wishes for them to receive a diploma. Some feel that classes are boring and
frustrating and a waste of time and energy. Why do students of today feel this way?...show more

Now how can you learn if you're not interested? This is when the teacher should consider providing
fun and games, praise, and love within the classrooms, making the classroom exciting and more
interesting.
Before entering the classrooms, teachers should sit and study each individual student and learn their
likes and dislikes. They should know what particular student need help in what particular subject.
Some students need more help in other subjects than other students. This is when teachers should
consider making their lesson plans focusing on subject matters that are current and relevant to high
school students, implementing cooperative learning strategies with their lesson plans while students
show off their talents. If students are demonstrating what they have learned in a skit, they tend to
learn more positively. When providing fun and game within the classrooms, the students are
excited about attending class because they already know something very eventful is going to take
place in that particular class. Not only are they learning they are having fun while doing so. They
are able to act out some of their personal talents, giving others a sense of who they really are, and
what some of their greater skills may be. As acknowledge in the article "How to Motivate High
School Students," "By allowing students the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge in a way
that appeals to their strengths, you're giving them a chance

High School Reflection Essay
When working at Wade King in Mr. Denton's fourth grade classroom, I found that the students were
very excited to have Nicole and me as guest teachers for their math hour. I had never worked with
fourth grade students before, so their warm and inviting attitudes help calm my nerves. The lessons
went well and I was surprised by some of the students' connections that they had made throughout our
lessons. For example, there were several students that would bring up things that we hadn't talked
about yet, but we were going to at the end of the lesson. Like the connection that certain fractions
were larger than other fractions and this connection tied into the end of the lesson where we would
place fractions on a number line by smallest to largest. It was so exciting to see students making
these connections on their own and understanding the content that was being taught. I also felt like
I was able to support the students very well when they had questions or difficulty with the lesson. I
must admit, I was intimidated by the new fancy school and the fact that the students knew Chinese!
Also, never having worked with fourth graders before, I didn't know what to expect or if I was
truly prepared. Then we began teaching and the students had questions that I could confidently
answer! Everything that I had learned paid off and it was such a good feeling to be able to support
students learning. Something else that went well was teaching to Bridges. Bridges is so easy to
follow and the

High School vs. College Essay examples
High School vs. College A very important part of life is education. In order to acquire a satisfying
education, one should complete high school prior to college. College and high school have two
different levels of education, but both are trying to further student's knowledge. As recent high
school graduates and college freshman's many can clarify similarities and differences between the
two. Some obvious similarities are that both have assignments, classrooms, and students. Although
college and high school have many differences three of the main ones are the teachers, classes, and
responsibilities. Teachers and college professors are one main difference. Teachers in high school
often write notes on an overhead and tell you the...show more content...
Classes are the second main reason high school differs from college. Classes in high school
generally consist of no more that 25 students. Counselors usually arrange your schedule the way
they think is best for you. You are not responsible for knowing what it takes to graduate. Usually
the school year is 26 weeks long; classes may have to be taken the whole year in order to get credit
for them. You are graded on most assignments done in class. In college some classes may have from
75–100 students. It is your responsibility to enroll in the classes that are required for your major,
plus a week for final exams. The year is divided into two 14 week semesters; most classes need to
be taken the complete semester in order to get credit. College professors tend to grade students
on tests and major papers. Responsibility has a lot to do when it comes to high school and college.
When you attend high school you are provided textbooks for each class. Your time is usually
structured by others (parents and/or teachers). Many parents are there to wake you up in the
morning before school starts. In high school you are required to go to school everyday. You often
read or hear presentations once in order to learn what you need to know. Students are expected to
read short stories at home which will be re–taught in class. When in college you must pay for each
textbook necessary for class.

My Journey Through High School Essay
To some, four years seems like a long time, but for me the past four years have flown by. In these
quick four years, so much has changed and yet so much is exactly the same. You still go to
school with most of the same people. You walk into the same familiar building and say hello to
most of the same teachers. During these four years I have lost some friends, but I have gained real
ones, which is one of the most important things to me. My outlook on life has changed. I have
become a more open and understanding person and I have learned many valuable life lessons. I have
made many great memories and I have learned to appreciate everything I have because nothing is
permanent. My journey through high school is like a plane ride. It takes off freshman year and I go
on a long, and sometimes bumpy, journey to get to my final destination. Even though in many ways
I am still the same person as the one that walked through those school doors as a freshman, I have
also changed in order to try to become the best version of myself and get to my final destination.
Freshman year I remember walking into the school mortified, thinking that everything and anything
that could go wrong would. I had never attended a Liberty–Benton School and knew about five
people that would be in my grade. I was shy and quiet because I didn't know any of the new faces. I
was insecure about myself and thought that it would be almost impossible to make friends. Before
high school, I went to a small, private,

Going To High School Essay
Learning and trying new activities has always intrigued me. It could be food, books, new problems
to solve, or new and different ways to learn. I believe trying new things helps me build on
experiences and improve the way I tackle tough problems. In other words, I love new opportunities
that I can learn or gain something from.
Going to high school presents me with a great chance to do something new. The Wake STEM early
college program is a perfect way for me to reach my goal of attending the College of Engineering at
NC State University and pursuing a career in Agricultural Engineering. Exploring the Engineering
area of the STEM program is a large part of why I aim to go to Wake STEM. I know I love
engineering because I work part time at an

High School Sports Essay
High School Sports In high school many kids often choose not to participate in extra curricular
activities saying that there pointless or that only a certain type of person would do something
like play football, or join the chess club. While this type of thinking may get some people through
school and through life, can it really be looked at as being a healthy lifestyle? Today sports have
proven to be a healthy outlet for students, in dealing with stress in the classroom at home and
among their peers. The "dumb jock" stereotype we've all heard it used before and for some of us
have even been called it. However in recent surveys across the United States has found that
student–athletes grades are generally higher than...show more content...
As far as athletes on the field a great many lessons are often learned there and one of the biggest
lessons is sportsmanship. For any sports played teamwork is often times essential for winning. It
also allows for a person to become more confident in their own abilities allowing them to become
more proud and not ashamed of what they can or cannot do. It allows players to build bonds
among their teammates and while this maybe be one of the main creators of the "jocks hang out
with jocks" stereotype it is only because athletes feel a connection to someone that is going
through the same time of training and emotions that sports tend to create. Sportsmanship teaches a
person the value of working together in groups and allows the player to learn how to adjust to
situations that he or she may not agree with. The work ethic sportsmanship creates is also carried
off the field as well into the school and more importantly the working environment, because we all
know that in our lifetimes we are going to have to work with someone that we do not like or agree
with. And having the ability to be able to work through a problem which sportsmanship can do
allows for an easier job experience. Athletes also tend to be generally much more healthier than
non–athletes, do to the type of training and experiences they are put through for their respective
sports. Athletes

My High School Year Essay
There was a point in my time where I enjoyed school and took pleasure in attending school and that
was elementary. Those were the best school years of my life, having nothing to care about, the
school lunch was unbelievably amazing and we had recess. Middle school was manageable but was
also beginning to become tough because the classes were becoming difficult. As we approach the
beginning of our high school career, parents and teachers always tell us students that it's the best
four years of our life, which in my case I did not find high school fascinating or enjoyable. I found
high school to be very stressful, overwhelming and not easy, understanding that the next four
years of my life will be filled with obstacles and challenges that I will face. I knew that I would
have challenges with my courses, but I did not think I would have trouble with my emotions such
as feeling depressed, sad, or that I would cry every other day, but to some teachers or parents
thought it was normal for teenagers because we are going through different phases of our life. My
freshman year was probably the best year of my high school year but I did face many challenges. I
was immature, did not obey my teachers, always getting in some sort of trouble. I was carefree, fun,
outgoing and had decent memories whether they were good memories or bad memories. Towards
the middle of my freshman year I found out that I had Hyperthyroidism, and was quite confused and
did not understand what it meant. As I

Why I Want To Go To High School Essay
I have been thinking about high school since was young. I thought it was so far away and now I
am ready to graduate middle school and go to high school. This got me thinking about college. I
realize that I need to find a high school that will help me succeed and reach my goal of going to
college. I need a program that will help me find new things that will interest me. As an 8th grader
getting ready to go into high school I was looking at applications and, I came across Lake View High
School and I was intrigued. As I read on I was satisfied with what I read because I know that this
program will help me succeed in high school and college. Knowing that, I really want to be a part
of this school. Lake View is a HOME, which represents the four core values of: Honor, Ownership,
Mastery, and Education. At Lake View I will be contributing to these core values, but the one that I
will be concentrating on is Education. Education is something that I need before anything, before
college, before high school. Education has me thinking about what I want to be when I grow up,
what kind of professional. When someone asks me "What do you want to be when you grow up?" I
would want to have a response and that...show more content...
I want to learn new things that interest me. I want to be able to realize my goals. I have recently
discovered my love for reading. I hope to be able to learn strategies that will help make me a
better reader as well as a better writer. If I contribute to the core value of education, I know I will
succeed at that skill with the new strategies that I will learn. With HOME, I have an opportunity
to contribute to all of the values: Honor, Ownership, Mastery, and Education. This school will give
me different aspects of education. I have many goals in life, in high school and college, so being
able to be part of Lake View HOME, I will be contributing to the core

College Admissions Essay: I Am In High School
While being in high school, I was ready to get out and start college. I always heard about how great
college was and I want to experiences for myself. I expected college to be laid back and pretty cool.
My hopes were to have fun, meet new people, and continue to make good grades. Now that I am in
college, I can say that I am actually doing what I wanted. There are a lot of people that come to
college with a baggage or a challenge. Some kids have children or come from schools that barely
prepared them for college. As for me, I do not have any kids but I do have a job. Sometimes it was
hard to manage work and school, but I got it done when it came down to it. Even though college

Sample Of Admission Essay For High School
My whole life I have been invested in doing what I love, focusing on my true passions, as well as
finding new ones. I have been very involved in my high school, and have been lucky enough to be
a part of multiple clubs and activities. Without these activities, my high school experience and life
would be a lot different. I have been an active drama club member, a part of 'Bottlecappers,' a club
advocating anti–drug, alcohol, and bullying to younger students in my district, and many other
community service opportunities. I am lucky to have the opportunity to be in these activities, as they
have shaped me to be the young adult I am today.
Before I even entered high school, I obtained a love of theater and the performing arts. I have been
singing and acting since I was nine, as well as on and off dancing since three. Taking classes at a
local theater really introduced me to this interest of mine. When I entered high school, an injury kept
me from doing shows. But now I graduate with nine high school shows under my belt, as well as
being in multiple community theater productions. Being a part of these shows made me feel a
strong sense of belonging, and whether I was an ensemble or lead...show more content...
As I had mentioned earlier, I am part of an anti–drugs and alcohol club. I am extended the
opportunity to speak to young students about the risks they could encounter. The feeling that those
students may look up to us is very meaningful, and I feel it is a unique experience. I am lucky to
have the chance to save a student's life through this club. Another community activity I enjoy doing
is related to performing, but at senior citizen homes. Some of my friends and I often just like to get
together with some music and go sing for them. This is a rewarding experience, as seeing the senior
citizens smile, and making their day better, is truly a heartwarming experience every time I have the

First Year In High School Essay
It was the first day of senior year, which also meant the last time I will wake up after the summer
break to High School. A million thoughts went racing through my head; what should I wear?
What will my classes be like? Is there anyone of my classmates that haven't changed since I last
saw them? All of these questions were going back and forth all morning long. After I finally
relaxed and decided to get ready, I felt an overwhelming presence of nervousness wash over me. The
thought finally struck me like a lightning bolt that I am a senior in high school. I didn't know what I
was going to do. This was it, my last year of being able to enjoy childhood before I went off and
had to be an adult. I decided to take a deep breath and just thank God for helping me get this far in
life and give this year to Him. As I walked out of the front door, the nervous feelings went away
and the next thing I knew was that my soul was full of excitement. I wasn't worried about this being
my last year, but instead I was ready, pumped, and excited for the journey...show more content...
Working as hard as I could to succeed at what was set out to accomplish. The first day back for my
final semester in high school was amazing. I was a high school student yet again and I could relax
and not have to worry about leaving. My day went by fast, but it was worth it because I didn't
have to rush through my lunch and hurry out the door. The college classes that I had signed up
for was well worth it because they are helping me for what I want to do with my life after high
school. Overall now that my senior year is almost over I look back on it and I have enjoyed every
moment of it. Not one part of it I would want to take back because every part of it was a learning
experience for me. Even though I am growing up and almost out of high school, this year is
definitely the best year in my

Life After High School Essay
High school is a time of stress and anxiety. This not only includes school work and social life, but
the school system plays as tremendous of a part in it as the student himself. People complain, "the
school system does nothing to prepare students for tests, school work etc." or "school is being
forced upon us, why even go?". These issues not only change the way students act, but the way they
affect society.
School readiness is a major concept in why students do not attend school. The bridge to prepare
them is simply not there. This does not necessarily apply with life after high school, but life in high
school. Healthy or not, students always focus on grades, they rely on teachers to prepare them for
tests, homework etc., to receive satisfying grades. Yet, the teachers and the school system do nothing
to help. According to source E, written by Floyd Norris, the United States fell in the bottom half in
the comparison of mathematical skills shown by fifteen year olds. Something has to be missing,
right? All students, parents, and even the school board wants is to notice students receive better
grades, for what?, the sake of a percentage or ranking? This should not be the factor of a student's
success. In the graph depicted in source E the United States, ranking, worldwide, is the twenty eighth
with ten percent of students in the top and twenty five point seven percent of students in the bottom.
What can schools do to prevent this helplessness in students? Schools need to

Why I Chose High School Essay
After graduating from Conroe High School, I want to attend to Lone Star College Montgomery
simply because it's closer to where I live, and because it's more affordable than any other state
institution. I really don't feel like going to another college that is far away from home, because that
would mean that I would have to stay in campus which is more expensive. I want to go to Lone
Star for two years to complete my basics.
The cost per semester at LSC is $800, so the total cost per two years at LSC is $3,200. It would've
probably been more affordable if I had taken Dual Credit classes in high school to earn college credit
and to accelerate my college completion, but I wanted to make my high school life easier by taking
level classes. To say the least, I was too much of a coward to challenge myself. Lone Star is perfect
for me because most of my friends will attend there. If I need help with any of my school work in
college, it'll be easier to reach my friends. Whereas, if we went to different colleges, we would
have to drive really far just to see each other. Also, if I my car ever breaks down and I'm left
without a ride to college, then I know that I can count on my friends for a lift. As gratitude for their
help, my friends know that...show more content...
It is a fraction of the cost of a four year university. For instance, former high school graduates that
are going to TX A&M have to pay about $4,575 per semester. The University of Texas beats A&M
with $98. While in Lone Star College you only have to pay about $800 per semester. What a
tremendous difference! I am aware that if I went to Lone Star and I'm competing with someone that
went to one of those famous and expensive state institutions, then I know that I most likely won't
get chosen by whichever job I was applying for, but that won't make me regret having chosen LSC.
I'm glad that I chose to attend to Lone Star College

Why Go To High School Essay
The reason why I want to attend Cass Technical High School is because I want to be challenged to
my full academic ability. I've always wanted to go to Cass since I was a little boy in elementary.
When I was in 8th grade, I truly wasn't challenged by the work I had, so my mother told me that I
would get challenged at a school like Cass. I don't believe that I have been challenged at the school I
go to now. I believe I can do better at your school because I will always have enough work in my
classes and never will get bored when I'm finished. I put my homework as a priority before other
things when I get home. I have always been an all "A" student since I was a little kid. I want to go
to Cass so I can achieve my full

Essay on Attending High School
High School
Do you remember your high school days? High school
for me has proved to be a learning experience and also a
challenge. There are many lessons that can be learned.
You can learn more about yourself, who your friends are,
what kind of help is offered to you, and what your
strengths and your weaknesses are. Attending
High School helped build my confidence because my
classmates were supportive, my teachers taught me how to
study for tests, and the math tutors helped me overcome
my fear of math.
My classmates were supportive in many ways. I used
to attend study groups for the subjects that I was
struggling in. In these meetings with each other,we
would study our notes and review...show more content...
Most students would wait until the last
minute to study and try to cram all the information on a
test in one night. But my teachers stressed that studying
a little bit at a time would be the best way to go about
learning the material. Another way they tried to provoke
studying would be by telling us to study in a group.
This method worked, but the method that I found that
helped me the most was by using flash cards. It was a
good way of studying especially for a test that had lots
of definitions on it. But I found it much easier to look at
a single piece of information instead of a whole page of
notes at one time. Overall, teachers do not just teach you
the facts from the books. They can help you sharpen your
study skills by showing you new ways of learning.
Lastly, the tutors at the school helped me to overcome my
biggest fear and that was math. They helped me realize
that if you take math one step at a time, it will be a
lot easier than trying to learn it all at once. The
tutors also made it easier for me by teaching me to
relate math to something I enjoy. A simple example would be
if you were having problems with percents. And they would
tell you to relate it to something like when you go shopping
and clothes have a certain discount. It carries the same
principle. And this method can help you overcome a fear

My Life In High School Essay
Any senior right now will honestly ask themselves how they could have possibly made it this far
knowing how stressful high school can be. To finally come to this point in my life it feels
amazing. Many seniors have their own way of making it to this place in time. I will give the reader
my advice and thoughts on how to make the most of your life in high school.
The first thing anyone will tell you to do in high school is to simply be involved. There are many
ways to be involved with high school, the only problem with being involved is choosing the right
activity or club for you. My advice for anyone who wants to be in a club or a sport is to give each
club or sport a try. It doesn't matter if its FFA or Basketball, just tryout anything their possibly is
and you possibly might like doing whatever it is you're doing to be involved with your school, trust
me I'm telling you from experience.
When it comes to assignments you either succeed or you fail. If you're like me, you have most
likely mastered failure unfortunately. In reality is failure a bad thing? In certain cases failure is
not so bad. Failing can be frustrating but when you fail at whatever you are doing you can easily
learn from that failure and correct yourself and next thing you know you're passing that class you
were just failing. Now success is a different story. Success is probably one of the most rewarding
feeling there is, especially when you pull an all nighter on that composition you forgot to do last
week

My Experience At High School Essay
High School: A time in our lives that sets the mold for who we are going to be in this world. It
does this by teaching us great lessons about life, ourselves, and other people through various
experiences. One of these experiences I chose to take part in was football. It was this decision
that led me to this fateful day. A day in which my left leg was shattered and my perspectives on
life were drastically changed. The journey I had embark on to deal with all of the after effects of
this event taught me life lessons I'll never forget. It was October 24th, 2014. This date fell on a
Friday and during football season that meant it was game day for most high school teams. Not
just any game though, it was our district championship. I remember it all like it was yesterday.
The smell of the fresh cut grass was so satisfying and the grass itself was even more delightful to
see on the field. The atmosphere was phenomenal. Both cheer squads were screaming their chants.
Fans and parents alike were yelling and clapping. My shoulder pads were fastened tight around
my ribs and shoulders. The adrenaline was flowing through my veins. My mind was prepared for
the game but not what was about to befall me. This is where the story starts to spiral downwards. It
was about five minutes into the first quarter and we ran up the middle. I was the designated lead
blocker. I lunged at the linebacker full force and knocked him down. I had so much momentum
going towards him that I went straight to the

Essay on How I Changed in High School
Everyone has heard or been told, "high school is what you make of it." High school is in fact what
you make of it, but it is also the time of great change in everybody. Entering grade nine you still feel
like a kid, your post–secondary and career choices are far from top priority. However, by grade
twelve we become more mature and grow into young adults. Personally looking back to my grade
nine self and comparing her to my grade twelve self of today, I am able to see changes in my
character, my athletics and my goals. There are many aspects within my personal character in which
have changed since entering grade nine. One of these aspects is my time management skills. When I
first started out in grade nine, I used to rush home and rush...show more content...
Over four years, I have made, as well as, lost friends. We all need to grow and mature and
sometimes others just do not want to follow that path with you and you end up growing apart.
Further changes can be seen in my athletics. Although this may seem a mute point to mention, my
sports are part of my life and today are part of my career choice. Therefore, my sports have
obviously impacted me. In grade nine, I was curling seven days a week on multiple teams and
different leagues. I joined the school team and ended the season winning Female MVP. In grade
nine I was aiming towards going to Provincials for curling while in grade twelve I now aim
towards placing higher than bronze in the 2010 Summer Games for archery. I do not have much
time for school sports with my archery outside of school taking off and I rarely get time to go shoot
some rocks. Archery is my main focus in sports right now. Along with my goals in sports changing,
my goals in post–secondary matters as well as career choices have changed. Today I am looking at
applying to either Canadore College or Brock University, where four years ago all I knew was that I
wanted to attend college and move out. Now I realize staying home would save me a lot of money.
As well, I am more open to looking at both university and college courses, like Brock, as their
program I wish to take is said to be excellent. In grade nine I was jobless and did not truly

High School Legacy Essay
Throughout my high school career I have tried to impact the lives of those around me while also
learning from those around me as well. Over the four years I have attended my high school,I have
grown into a person who is now more attentive of the different people, opinions, and cultures that
surround me and this in turn has allowed me become more open–minded. This would be the legacy I
hope that I leave behind. When I graduate from school and consequently leave my community, I
hope that I have left a legacy of growth. That my experience can be an example of someone else
because it is my firm belief that the greatest legacy one can leave behind can be a legacy others can
learn from.
My freshman year of high school I enrolled in a first level

  • 1. Motivation for High School Students Essay 1 Milestone3: Motivation for High School Students Sharon Robinson Walden University 2 Milestone 3: Motivation For High School Students With so many of life many failure attempts to succeed in life, we see those individuals that have dropped out of school and feel that their life now seems meaningless. Their determination or will power wasn't strong, and they had no one to push them forward to want to be a better person or succeed in life. Some students today feel that all they have to do is just attend school just because of their parents' wishes for them to receive a diploma. Some feel that classes are boring and frustrating and a waste of time and energy. Why do students of today feel this way?...show more content... Now how can you learn if you're not interested? This is when the teacher should consider providing fun and games, praise, and love within the classrooms, making the classroom exciting and more interesting. Before entering the classrooms, teachers should sit and study each individual student and learn their likes and dislikes. They should know what particular student need help in what particular subject. Some students need more help in other subjects than other students. This is when teachers should consider making their lesson plans focusing on subject matters that are current and relevant to high school students, implementing cooperative learning strategies with their lesson plans while students show off their talents. If students are demonstrating what they have learned in a skit, they tend to learn more positively. When providing fun and game within the classrooms, the students are excited about attending class because they already know something very eventful is going to take place in that particular class. Not only are they learning they are having fun while doing so. They are able to act out some of their personal talents, giving others a sense of who they really are, and what some of their greater skills may be. As acknowledge in the article "How to Motivate High School Students," "By allowing students the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge in a way that appeals to their strengths, you're giving them a chance Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. High School Reflection Essay When working at Wade King in Mr. Denton's fourth grade classroom, I found that the students were very excited to have Nicole and me as guest teachers for their math hour. I had never worked with fourth grade students before, so their warm and inviting attitudes help calm my nerves. The lessons went well and I was surprised by some of the students' connections that they had made throughout our lessons. For example, there were several students that would bring up things that we hadn't talked about yet, but we were going to at the end of the lesson. Like the connection that certain fractions were larger than other fractions and this connection tied into the end of the lesson where we would place fractions on a number line by smallest to largest. It was so exciting to see students making these connections on their own and understanding the content that was being taught. I also felt like I was able to support the students very well when they had questions or difficulty with the lesson. I must admit, I was intimidated by the new fancy school and the fact that the students knew Chinese! Also, never having worked with fourth graders before, I didn't know what to expect or if I was truly prepared. Then we began teaching and the students had questions that I could confidently answer! Everything that I had learned paid off and it was such a good feeling to be able to support students learning. Something else that went well was teaching to Bridges. Bridges is so easy to follow and the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. High School vs. College Essay examples High School vs. College A very important part of life is education. In order to acquire a satisfying education, one should complete high school prior to college. College and high school have two different levels of education, but both are trying to further student's knowledge. As recent high school graduates and college freshman's many can clarify similarities and differences between the two. Some obvious similarities are that both have assignments, classrooms, and students. Although college and high school have many differences three of the main ones are the teachers, classes, and responsibilities. Teachers and college professors are one main difference. Teachers in high school often write notes on an overhead and tell you the...show more content... Classes are the second main reason high school differs from college. Classes in high school generally consist of no more that 25 students. Counselors usually arrange your schedule the way they think is best for you. You are not responsible for knowing what it takes to graduate. Usually the school year is 26 weeks long; classes may have to be taken the whole year in order to get credit for them. You are graded on most assignments done in class. In college some classes may have from 75–100 students. It is your responsibility to enroll in the classes that are required for your major, plus a week for final exams. The year is divided into two 14 week semesters; most classes need to be taken the complete semester in order to get credit. College professors tend to grade students on tests and major papers. Responsibility has a lot to do when it comes to high school and college. When you attend high school you are provided textbooks for each class. Your time is usually structured by others (parents and/or teachers). Many parents are there to wake you up in the morning before school starts. In high school you are required to go to school everyday. You often read or hear presentations once in order to learn what you need to know. Students are expected to read short stories at home which will be re–taught in class. When in college you must pay for each textbook necessary for class. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. My Journey Through High School Essay To some, four years seems like a long time, but for me the past four years have flown by. In these quick four years, so much has changed and yet so much is exactly the same. You still go to school with most of the same people. You walk into the same familiar building and say hello to most of the same teachers. During these four years I have lost some friends, but I have gained real ones, which is one of the most important things to me. My outlook on life has changed. I have become a more open and understanding person and I have learned many valuable life lessons. I have made many great memories and I have learned to appreciate everything I have because nothing is permanent. My journey through high school is like a plane ride. It takes off freshman year and I go on a long, and sometimes bumpy, journey to get to my final destination. Even though in many ways I am still the same person as the one that walked through those school doors as a freshman, I have also changed in order to try to become the best version of myself and get to my final destination. Freshman year I remember walking into the school mortified, thinking that everything and anything that could go wrong would. I had never attended a Liberty–Benton School and knew about five people that would be in my grade. I was shy and quiet because I didn't know any of the new faces. I was insecure about myself and thought that it would be almost impossible to make friends. Before high school, I went to a small, private, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Going To High School Essay Learning and trying new activities has always intrigued me. It could be food, books, new problems to solve, or new and different ways to learn. I believe trying new things helps me build on experiences and improve the way I tackle tough problems. In other words, I love new opportunities that I can learn or gain something from. Going to high school presents me with a great chance to do something new. The Wake STEM early college program is a perfect way for me to reach my goal of attending the College of Engineering at NC State University and pursuing a career in Agricultural Engineering. Exploring the Engineering area of the STEM program is a large part of why I aim to go to Wake STEM. I know I love engineering because I work part time at an Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. High School Sports Essay High School Sports In high school many kids often choose not to participate in extra curricular activities saying that there pointless or that only a certain type of person would do something like play football, or join the chess club. While this type of thinking may get some people through school and through life, can it really be looked at as being a healthy lifestyle? Today sports have proven to be a healthy outlet for students, in dealing with stress in the classroom at home and among their peers. The "dumb jock" stereotype we've all heard it used before and for some of us have even been called it. However in recent surveys across the United States has found that student–athletes grades are generally higher than...show more content... As far as athletes on the field a great many lessons are often learned there and one of the biggest lessons is sportsmanship. For any sports played teamwork is often times essential for winning. It also allows for a person to become more confident in their own abilities allowing them to become more proud and not ashamed of what they can or cannot do. It allows players to build bonds among their teammates and while this maybe be one of the main creators of the "jocks hang out with jocks" stereotype it is only because athletes feel a connection to someone that is going through the same time of training and emotions that sports tend to create. Sportsmanship teaches a person the value of working together in groups and allows the player to learn how to adjust to situations that he or she may not agree with. The work ethic sportsmanship creates is also carried off the field as well into the school and more importantly the working environment, because we all know that in our lifetimes we are going to have to work with someone that we do not like or agree with. And having the ability to be able to work through a problem which sportsmanship can do allows for an easier job experience. Athletes also tend to be generally much more healthier than non–athletes, do to the type of training and experiences they are put through for their respective sports. • 7. My High School Year Essay There was a point in my time where I enjoyed school and took pleasure in attending school and that was elementary. Those were the best school years of my life, having nothing to care about, the school lunch was unbelievably amazing and we had recess. Middle school was manageable but was also beginning to become tough because the classes were becoming difficult. As we approach the beginning of our high school career, parents and teachers always tell us students that it's the best four years of our life, which in my case I did not find high school fascinating or enjoyable. I found high school to be very stressful, overwhelming and not easy, understanding that the next four years of my life will be filled with obstacles and challenges that I will face. I knew that I would have challenges with my courses, but I did not think I would have trouble with my emotions such as feeling depressed, sad, or that I would cry every other day, but to some teachers or parents thought it was normal for teenagers because we are going through different phases of our life. My freshman year was probably the best year of my high school year but I did face many challenges. I was immature, did not obey my teachers, always getting in some sort of trouble. I was carefree, fun, outgoing and had decent memories whether they were good memories or bad memories. Towards the middle of my freshman year I found out that I had Hyperthyroidism, and was quite confused and did not understand what it meant. As I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Why I Want To Go To High School Essay I have been thinking about high school since was young. I thought it was so far away and now I am ready to graduate middle school and go to high school. This got me thinking about college. I realize that I need to find a high school that will help me succeed and reach my goal of going to college. I need a program that will help me find new things that will interest me. As an 8th grader getting ready to go into high school I was looking at applications and, I came across Lake View High School and I was intrigued. As I read on I was satisfied with what I read because I know that this program will help me succeed in high school and college. Knowing that, I really want to be a part of this school. Lake View is a HOME, which represents the four core values of: Honor, Ownership, Mastery, and Education. At Lake View I will be contributing to these core values, but the one that I will be concentrating on is Education. Education is something that I need before anything, before college, before high school. Education has me thinking about what I want to be when I grow up, what kind of professional. When someone asks me "What do you want to be when you grow up?" I would want to have a response and that...show more content... I want to learn new things that interest me. With HOME, I have an opportunity to contribute to all of the values: Honor, Ownership, Mastery, and Education. This school will give me different aspects of education. • 9. College Admissions Essay: I Am In High School While being in high school, I was ready to get out and start college. I always heard about how great college was and I want to experiences for myself. I expected college to be laid back and pretty cool. My hopes were to have fun, meet new people, and continue to make good grades. Now that I am in college, I can say that I am actually doing what I wanted. There are a lot of people that come to college with a baggage or a challenge. Some kids have children or come from schools that barely prepared them for college. As for me, I do not have any kids but I do have a job. Sometimes it was hard to manage work and school, but I got it done when it came down to it. • 10. Sample Of Admission Essay For High School My whole life I have been invested in doing what I love, focusing on my true passions, as well as finding new ones. I have been very involved in my high school, and have been lucky enough to be a part of multiple clubs and activities. Without these activities, my high school experience and life would be a lot different. I have been an active drama club member, a part of 'Bottlecappers,' a club advocating anti–drug, alcohol, and bullying to younger students in my district, and many other community service opportunities. I am lucky to have the opportunity to be in these activities, as they have shaped me to be the young adult I am today. Before I even entered high school, I obtained a love of theater and the performing arts. I have been singing and acting since I was nine, as well as on and off dancing since three. Taking classes at a local theater really introduced me to this interest of mine. When I entered high school, an injury kept me from doing shows. But now I graduate with nine high school shows under my belt, as well as being in multiple community theater productions. Being a part of these shows made me feel a strong sense of belonging, and whether I was an ensemble or lead...show more content... As I had mentioned earlier, I am part of an anti–drugs and alcohol club. I am extended the opportunity to speak to young students about the risks they could encounter. The feeling that those students may look up to us is very meaningful, and I feel it is a unique experience. I am lucky to have the chance to save a student's life through this club. Another community activity I enjoy doing is related to performing, but at senior citizen homes. Some of my friends and I often just like to get together with some music and go sing for them. This is a rewarding experience, as seeing the senior citizens smile, and making their day better, is truly a heartwarming experience every time I have the chance to perform for Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. First Year In High School Essay It was the first day of senior year, which also meant the last time I will wake up after the summer break to High School. A million thoughts went racing through my head; what should I wear? What will my classes be like? Is there anyone of my classmates that haven't changed since I last saw them? All of these questions were going back and forth all morning long. After I finally relaxed and decided to get ready, I felt an overwhelming presence of nervousness wash over me. The thought finally struck me like a lightning bolt that I am a senior in high school. I didn't know what I was going to do. This was it, my last year of being able to enjoy childhood before I went off and had to be an adult. I decided to take a deep breath and just thank God for helping me get this far in life and give this year to Him. As I walked out of the front door, the nervous feelings went away and the next thing I knew was that my soul was full of excitement. I wasn't worried about this being my last year, but instead I was ready, pumped, and excited for the journey...show more content... The college classes that I had signed up for was well worth it because they are helping me for what I want to do with my life after high school. Overall now that my senior year is almost over I look back on it and I have enjoyed every moment of it. • 12. Life After High School Essay High school is a time of stress and anxiety. This not only includes school work and social life, but the school system plays as tremendous of a part in it as the student himself. People complain, "the school system does nothing to prepare students for tests, school work etc." or "school is being forced upon us, why even go?". These issues not only change the way students act, but the way they affect society. School readiness is a major concept in why students do not attend school. The bridge to prepare them is simply not there. This does not necessarily apply with life after high school, but life in high school. Healthy or not, students always focus on grades, they rely on teachers to prepare them for tests, homework etc., to receive satisfying grades. Yet, the teachers and the school system do nothing to help. According to source E, written by Floyd Norris, the United States fell in the bottom half in the comparison of mathematical skills shown by fifteen year olds. Something has to be missing, right? All students, parents, and even the school board wants is to notice students receive better grades, for what?, the sake of a percentage or ranking? This should not be the factor of a student's success. In the graph depicted in source E the United States, ranking, worldwide, is the twenty eighth with ten percent of students in the top and twenty five point seven percent of students in the bottom. What can schools do to prevent this helplessness in students? Schools need to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Why I Chose High School Essay After graduating from Conroe High School, I want to attend to Lone Star College Montgomery simply because it's closer to where I live, and because it's more affordable than any other state institution. I really don't feel like going to another college that is far away from home, because that would mean that I would have to stay in campus which is more expensive. I want to go to Lone Star for two years to complete my basics. The cost per semester at LSC is $800, so the total cost per two years at LSC is $3,200. It would've probably been more affordable if I had taken Dual Credit classes in high school to earn college credit and to accelerate my college completion, but I wanted to make my high school life easier by taking level classes. To say the least, I was too much of a coward to challenge myself. Lone Star is perfect for me because most of my friends will attend there. If I need help with any of my school work in college, it'll be easier to reach my friends. Whereas, if we went to different colleges, we would have to drive really far just to see each other. Also, if I my car ever breaks down and I'm left without a ride to college, then I know that I can count on my friends for a lift. As gratitude for their help, my friends know that...show more content... It is a fraction of the cost of a four year university. For instance, former high school graduates that are going to TX A&M have to pay about $4,575 per semester. The University of Texas beats A&M with $98. While in Lone Star College you only have to pay about $800 per semester. What a tremendous difference! I am aware that if I went to Lone Star and I'm competing with someone that went to one of those famous and expensive state institutions, then I know that I most likely won't get chosen by whichever job I was applying for, but that won't make me regret having chosen LSC. I'm glad that I chose to attend to Lone Star College Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Why Go To High School Essay The reason why I want to attend Cass Technical High School is because I want to be challenged to my full academic ability. I've always wanted to go to Cass since I was a little boy in elementary. When I was in 8th grade, I truly wasn't challenged by the work I had, so my mother told me that I would get challenged at a school like Cass. I don't believe that I have been challenged at the school I go to now. I believe I can do better at your school because I will always have enough work in my classes and never will get bored when I'm finished. I put my homework as a priority before other things when I get home. I have always been an all "A" student since I was a little kid. • 15. Essay on Attending High School High School Do you remember your high school days? High school for me has proved to be a learning experience and also a challenge. There are many lessons that can be learned. You can learn more about yourself, who your friends are, what kind of help is offered to you, and what your strengths and your weaknesses are. Attending High School helped build my confidence because my classmates were supportive, my teachers taught me how to study for tests, and the math tutors helped me overcome my fear of math. My classmates were supportive in many ways. I used to attend study groups for the subjects that I was struggling in. In these meetings with each other,we would study our notes and review...show more content... Most students would wait until the last minute to study and try to cram all the information on a test in one night. But my teachers stressed that studying a little bit at a time would be the best way to go about learning the material. Another way they tried to provoke studying would be by telling us to study in a group.
  • 16. This method worked, but the method that I found that helped me the most was by using flash cards. It was a good way of studying especially for a test that had lots of definitions on it. But I found it much easier to look at a single piece of information instead of a whole page of notes at one time. Overall, teachers do not just teach you the facts from the books. They can help you sharpen your study skills by showing you new ways of learning. Lastly, the tutors at the school helped me to overcome my biggest fear and that was math. They helped me realize that if you take math one step at a time, it will be a lot easier than trying to learn it all at once. The tutors also made it easier for me by teaching me to relate math to something I enjoy. A simple example would be if you were having problems with percents. And they would tell you to relate it to something like when you go shopping and clothes have a certain discount. It carries the same principle. And this method can help you overcome a fear Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. My Life In High School Essay Any senior right now will honestly ask themselves how they could have possibly made it this far knowing how stressful high school can be. To finally come to this point in my life it feels amazing. Many seniors have their own way of making it to this place in time. I will give the reader my advice and thoughts on how to make the most of your life in high school. The first thing anyone will tell you to do in high school is to simply be involved. There are many ways to be involved with high school, the only problem with being involved is choosing the right activity or club for you. My advice for anyone who wants to be in a club or a sport is to give each club or sport a try. It doesn't matter if its FFA or Basketball, just tryout anything their possibly is and you possibly might like doing whatever it is you're doing to be involved with your school, trust me I'm telling you from experience. When it comes to assignments you either succeed or you fail. If you're like me, you have most likely mastered failure unfortunately. In reality is failure a bad thing? In certain cases failure is not so bad. Failing can be frustrating but when you fail at whatever you are doing you can easily learn from that failure and correct yourself and next thing you know you're passing that class you were just failing. Now success is a different story. Success is probably one of the most rewarding feeling there is, especially when you pull an all nighter on that composition you forgot to do last week Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 19. My Experience At High School Essay High School: A time in our lives that sets the mold for who we are going to be in this world. It does this by teaching us great lessons about life, ourselves, and other people through various experiences. One of these experiences I chose to take part in was football. It was this decision that led me to this fateful day. A day in which my left leg was shattered and my perspectives on life were drastically changed. The journey I had embark on to deal with all of the after effects of this event taught me life lessons I'll never forget. It was October 24th, 2014. This date fell on a Friday and during football season that meant it was game day for most high school teams. Not just any game though, it was our district championship. I remember it all like it was yesterday. The smell of the fresh cut grass was so satisfying and the grass itself was even more delightful to see on the field. The atmosphere was phenomenal. Both cheer squads were screaming their chants. Fans and parents alike were yelling and clapping. My shoulder pads were fastened tight around my ribs and shoulders. The adrenaline was flowing through my veins. My mind was prepared for the game but not what was about to befall me. This is where the story starts to spiral downwards. It was about five minutes into the first quarter and we ran up the middle. I was the designated lead blocker. I lunged at the linebacker full force and knocked him down. I had so much momentum going towards him that I went straight to the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
