1. It’s Saturday which is my dad’s birthday. I love to help my mom to bake cake in
the kitchen. Itwas one of my hobbies too. So my mom and I decided to bake a cake for
my lovely dad. Before we started to bake the cake, we took all the equipment from the
drawer and got ourselves prepared. For my task was cracking all the eggs and put it
into a bowl with the flour and stir it with an egg beater. Egg beater was my favourite
kitchen tool. I’m interested in this egg beater since I was young because of the attractive
design. That moment when u stir it was wonderful and enjoy.Instinctively, I started to
explore this element.
An egg beater is basically a round beater cover many sticks of the steel, which is
mostly made in stainless-steel. For my own lovely egg beater holder, it was made in
wood and it’s approximately the length of a normal men’s hand. The whole height was
about half of our hand. It was very comfortable for me to hold and stir the ingredients
such as flour, eggs and etc. For the egg beater, it’s only nail thick so it is almost same
weight with a cup. The egg beater holder provides convenience while bringing around
because on top of the holder there is a hole which allow us hang on the wall or etc.
Other than that, it’s silver color just like the color of my mother’s necklace which
was also made of stainless-steel. It’s very shinning. Egg beater basically produces ‘ding’
sound when I hit on the bowl. It also will vibrate real hard because of the fiction between
the sticks.The stick can be bent easily because the stick is too thin like a normal coin. It
was made of stainless-steel, no doubts that the body of egg beater was a heat
conductor. So normally its temperature varies when I put some different ingredient on it.

2. Moreover, if I put my nose to the egg beater I can often sense a very slight fishy
smell. Maybe it was not clean but I don’t know. It also can be cleaned easy. The
corrosion of metal fillings in my mouth creates currents that cause a metallic taste for
me. This type of taste in my mouth is sometimes the heavy metal toxicity. Particularly,
mercury from silver amalgam fillings in the teeth, but it could be some other source of
metal like lead, copper etc.
After all these observations and explorations towards the egg beater, I can
confidentially tell that the egg beater is used as a tool to stir the ingredients by mixing
around. Without this egg beater we have to use our own bare hands to mix the
ingredients. It will not harm ourselves and damage when accidentally drop from high
ground. Because of its characteristic but it causes the egg beater out of shape.
While I am digging out what it is, I sincerely found out that this is a prefect utensil
for baking cakes in term of its function and also design. I observe the egg beater first,
whether in close or far and look into details. Then, I move further on testing what it is by
carrying out certain experiments such as applying force on it, hitting on it, licking it, feel
it with bare hands and so on, trying to find out more about it. I got little bit frustrated
when I don’t know what smell and taste it was until now. The information I got from my
experiments are recorded in a piece of paper and arranged accordingly as pre-writing.
Last but not least I wrote a narrative essay with the information I have. In the end it is a
smooth process for me as I had stated out what I should find out before I started my
experiments hence everything worked in a smooth manner.
