Sephora delivers three sculptures she carved to a mysterious warehouse, where she is paid $1,018 but feels uneasy. She confirms at the hospital that she is pregnant, worrying the baby may inherit her neurotic traits due to her high stress levels. Sephora finds temporary solace in the Garden of the Forgotten, where she lets out her anxiety before receiving a supportive call from friend Laurel. Exhausted, Sephora returns home hoping to see Miles, but finds he has not yet come home from his late work shift at the theater.
4. Miles has about an hour before he has to be at work, but in his hurry to leave home, he forgot to eat.
5. As Sephora works on the last statue for the people at the mysterious warehouse, she notices that it is beginning to take the shape of her internal feelings.
11. Sephora was instructed to bring the statues to the back of the warehouse. When she arrives, she sees the Annan family standing out front.
12. Sephora walks past the creepy broken windows as she heads towards the back of the building.
13. There is a heavy high security door and video cameras at the back of the warehouse. As she knocks on the large stone door, she wonders what type of people would want to work behind these doors.
14. As she waits for the doors to open, Sephora has a feeling that she’s being watched. Could it just be the video cameras?
15. After several minutes, the doors open. As she walks in, Sephora wishes that she would have told Miles where she was going. No one would know where to look for her if she comes up missing.
16. The doors close behind her and a very intimidating man greets her. He accepts the sculptures, but tells her that he needs her to hollow them out. There’s no way that she is going to refuse, seeing as there is no way out of the building, besides the big stone doors.
17. Sephora finishes working on the sculptures and is glad when the stone doors open and she is allowed to leave with $1,018 in cash for her efforts. She has no idea what her works of art will be used for, but she doesn’t question it.
18. Sephora is happy to leave the warehouse and she does so as quickly as her exhausted body will allow her.
19. The Annan's are still outside when Sephora exits the warehouse. Sephora wonders briefly if they are actually serving as look-outs for the men in the warehouse, who she’s sure are into something illegal.
20. While Sephora is happy to escape the warehouse with her life, Miles is stressed out from working hard at the theater. When Juan approaches him, asking him to put in some overtime, he dares not turn him down. Miles is in for a long night.
21. Sephora takes time to drop in at the hospital to visit the walk-in clinic. It is obvious that she is in fact pregnant, but she just has to be 100% sure.
23. After the pregnancy is confirmed, Sephora talks to the doctor about her concerns. Sephora asks the doctor about the chances that the baby will inherit her neurotic trait. The doctors says that there is a chance that the baby could inherit it, especially if Sephora is under stress during the pregnancy.
24. Having the pregnancy officially confirmed and learning that the baby could come out neurotic is too much for Sephora to take. She bursts into tears right there in front of the hospital.
25. The doctor tells Sephora that keeping her stress level low is key to having a healthy baby, but Sephora’s whole world is crumbling and she’s never been more stressed in her life.
26. Sephora tries her hardest to keep it together, but she can feel her anxiety level increasing again…
27. …so she heads to the only place where she can find a bit of solace; the Garden of the Forgotten.
28. This is not what Sephora imagined her pregnancy being like.
30. She picks the brightest star and makes her wish, “please make this thing turn out alright,” she whispers.
31. Suddenly her body tenses and she feels an impulse to just scream. What better place to freak out than in the Garden of the Forgotten?
32. Maybe if she lets it out here, her problems can actually be forgotten. Maybe that’s how the park got its name.
33. Sephora is always tranquil after one of her freak out episodes. Right when her heart rate calms and she’s feeling less anxious, her phone rings. “Miles!” she says expectantly.
34. But it isn’t Miles. It’s Laurel, one of the ladies that she’s met since moving to Barnacle Bay. In a small town like this, news travels fast, so already knowing about the pregnancy, Laurel asks her if she’s getting enough rest and Sephora tells her that she is.
35. Sephora tells her that her sculpturing is going well after Laurel asks about it.
50. Miles tries to imagine how he can manage a career and a family.
51. Afraid to wake Sephora up. He opts to get his rest on the living room couch. “This is probably where Sephora will want me to sleep from now on anyway”, he thinks to himself just before he drifts off to sleep...and who could blame her?
