There are some similiarites between Bulgaria and IsraelI will try to give you a very short introduction to the early stage ecosystem in Israel, and what i think can be learned from our experience
In the map – early stage ones.In total – there are 5700 active private and public startup companies to date Israel Hosts More NASDAQ listed companies per citizen than ANY country Exits involving Israeli and Israel-related high-tech companies in 2011 totaled $5.23 billion.
We still don't understand the patterns of succesful creation. From the 90% who will fail, most fail due to self distruction rather than competition.
Let's dive into what i think is one of the sucess keys of an early stage start up,
According to the StartUp Genome report, 201227X more fund raising3.5X user growth

A very vivid ecosystem, of free events and meetups. Most of which, are initiated by the entrepreneurs themselves
Both in Israel and Bulgaria - our talent has mostly goodtechnological skillsAt least in Israel, and generally speaking of course, marketing, product and design are our weaknesses
So first – we should know where our advanteages are.Focus should be on product centric start ups, without a networking effect, as opposed to sales driven companies, with a networking effect.
You need to go global, right? So here's a solution established by Israeli entreprneurs in the Valley:An accelerator for Israeli entrepreneurs was founded in SF, by Israelis. It is a 3 months program for early stage startups who come to the valley and spend some cruitial time there. Find some leading Bulgarian, role models, who have succeeded locally or even better globaly, and use them
You cannot succeed based only on a technical team. Today, more than ever, innovation often comes from the product side or even innovative business models. So your team MUST be well balanced. This is critical for your success.
So don't be afraid of risks, and start failing, as failure is success when we learn from it.
And at least learn this for the Israelis.Just don't be afraid.Eventualy – you'l succeed.
