"Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life--think of it, dream of it,
live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body,
be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way
to success.

Journey Of The Department
ઉપડતી જીભ અટકે છે હ્દય પર ભાર લાગે છે ;
બે બે વર્ષોની વાત છે કહેવામાાં થોડી વાર લાગે છે !
Two years are not short period to be in the new world - The
Department of English. Those who don't travel through this , they don't
know the value of the Department. No one can realise how beautiful it is !
Journey is always one way track. One can't pass through the same path in life. One
can feel it, just live it and remembers it in life. Department of English is always inspirational
for us . The journey of The Department - is the most precious journey for all of us. One has
no idea how important a role 'The Department' play in shaping us.
We have spent unforgotten days here. We all were strangers to each other when we
first came to The Department. Now, They all become our 'Family' and Department is our
'HOME'. Our journey has been started from July, 2014. Journey never ends but it just start
for the new aim. We learn so many things in the Department like.... Dedication to work,
punctuality, self learning and hard work and extensive use of available time . Before we
came here, we all were like unplanted plant which have nothing to give to society but
Department nourish all of us with only work culture. we understand the importance of our
dedication towards the work and things. Department mould us with softness and give much
space of creativity which is restricted by society. Each day of the department is very precious
for us because it gives lesson of something at the end of the day. "Daily Schedule" is the one
of the most important part to increase our thinking capacity with critical points. We live
together here, helping each other and the 'Sharing is the Caring' - is the motto of the
Department.
we all are grateful to respected our HOD Dr. Dilip Barad who gives each kind of
amenities and care. He always directs us , teaches to take risks and says that it is only
necessary thing to keep on walking. Our memories are connected with The Department.
'Memories last Forever' - and for that this Memorabilia plays very vital role to preserve the
memory as it is. This Memorabilia is the collage of the Year 2015 - 16. All pieces of Arts,
sweet memories and every things are in "Memorabilia - The Heart of 2015-16' which we
are going to miss in our life.
We both Bhumi Joshi and Pritiba Gohil very thankful to all students to help us to
beautify this blank canvas with various colours. We are grateful to all classmates and friends.
Let me write some name of my friends.......Pritiba Gohil, Milan Parmar, Ravi Bhaliya and
Nimesh Dave who deserve special Thanks for their immense help to prepare this wonderful
Memorabilia.
by Bhumi Joshi.
 From The Desk of The Department
None of the monks can
teach concentration better than the cat-
family-animal-in-wait-for-prey. The task to
edit this Memorabilia 2016 is not even an
iota less than this. It requires similar sort of
concentration, and that too for quite a
prolonged time. The persistence and
perseverance with which Bhumi Joshi and
Pritiba Gohil have worked is amazing. Not
only the number of pages has crossed 100 but
also the richness of content speaks for the dedication of both of them. A special
thanks to Ravi Bhaliya and Milan Parmar for organizing content and printing
this Memorabilia.
Having birds-eye view of this Memorabilia is like walking back on the memory
lane. Not all revisits of memory are traumatic. There are sweet fragrance of
flowery incidents and event which are yet not grown into anecdotes. Not even it
is true to say that for teachers, the batches of students is like a rock rolled over
the mountain by Sisyphus, just to see that it rolled down, again and again. The
journey of walking with various batches of students is like pilgrim’s progress.
The journey may not be strictly religious or spiritual, or may be it is quite
opposite of it, but it is surely academic, intellectual and enlightening. The
‘progression’ of thoughts, the widening of mental horizons, understanding the
universality of ideas are some of the key things which remain as a memory of
teaching various batches.
Same is true about batch 2014-16. It was yet another enriching experience. One
of the best experiences was to see Vanita Tadha gaining tremendous confidence
to perform in Daily Schedule as well as in project work. Along with her, the
way Asmita Gond, Sonal Baraiya, Neha Mehta and Jayshree Solanki improved
their level of academic involvement which got manifested in their project on
Reading Habit is the real gain of education.
Vanita Baldania and Daya Gohel’s participating in Mountaineering tracking at
Junagadh was quite unique. Both of them shall be commended for this. I do not
recall in last 7-8 years if any girl-student has participated in such ‘so-called-
tough’ adventure sport events. The best of the human character is displayed
when one stands with other human in their down moments. Vanita Baldania has
displayed this unique aspect of human character. I hope the Department will see
many such participation in coming years. This surely will be an example to be
shared with upcoming batches to inspire them to participate in adventure sports.
Such events play very important role in building human of great character and
indomitable spirit.
It was great to have creative poems from Ravi Bhaliya which enlivened Daily
Schedule on several occasions. It would be great to see all poems compiled and
published in book form. He along with Nikunj Bhatti, Kishan Kubavat and
Sagar Ladhva has taken very good care of Laptop bank and all matters related to
ICT. Their hard work shall be remembered by all as they took extra care for
internet connectivity for other students and also managed things on public
holidays.
Every year, we are fortunate to have a few students who take care of Library
books with utmost care. If we get the student who really loves the books, we
need not worry about library. This year, Nimesh Dave and his team managed
library with extra care and consideration.
Daily Schedule is yet another very important feature of life at Department. Urvi
Dave and her team, this year, looked after it with great affection. Baring a few
days, the daily schedule was full of wonderful presentations.
Ranjan Velari and Urvi worked on very interesting projects also. They
participated in Global Conference and presented their research. It is such
researches and participation of students in academic events that give academic
acknowledgement to the Department as the hub of academic activities.
Amidst the hustle and bustle of other students, there are many who silently
worked for others. They are always ready to help the needy. They help and do
not expect any recognition. I would like to put Radha Ghevariay, Devikaba
Gohil, Vaishali Jasolia, Krupali Lewade, Pritiba Gohil, Nidhi Jasani (her
winning position in Youth Festival for Mimicry was unique as it only she who
got rank in this Rajatrang 2015) and Deepika Vaza in this type of students. This
is not insignificant or trivial thing to have. Normally, people crave for
recognition even if they have done nothing. To help and not to crave for
recognition is ‘something’ really great.
We can’t forget beautiful identity cards for which Sagar Ladhwa and his team
worked very hard. Sagar should also be remembered for enriching general
knowledge in Daily Schedule on new schemes of Government of India. That is
something very important.
Looking back in the memory gives some moments of regrets as well. It is
remorseful when some students with talent do not perform owing to
circumstances beyond their control or sometimes they themselves are the
biggest hurdle for them, Jankiba Rana was toubled by her health and her
mother’s and that resisted her from performing at her level best. Praful, Mayuri,
Nisha and Hitesh should have been actively and willingly involved in academic
and co-curricular activities. Even a single student left out unmotivated and not
involved in academic activity is a failure of a teacher, in particular and of
academic institute, in general.
Well, the golden moments of any education system is live interaction of
students with teachers. Though the class did not have many students who
participated in discussions or raised disturbing questions, yet the contribution of
Nimesh Dave, Dipti Vaghela, Milan Parmar and Bhumi Joshi cannot be
ignored. They were ready to respond to the questions tossed in the class or were
ready to ask the questions which were deeply inquisitive in nature and displayed
curiosity of an ideal learner.
Bhumi Joshi needs special mention for her participation is co-curricular
activities, performing at her best in these activities, winning a few laurels and
earning good name of the Department and leading with great conviction. She
proved that the ‘leaders never complain’, leader see to it that the tasks on hand,
however, difficult it may sound, must be completed. Along with it, her presence
in classroom, active participation in discussion also makes stand apart, and well
ahead of others.
The real education is the one which stands by this stanza from Brihadaranyaka
Upanishads (1.3.28):
। From ignorance, lead me to truth
। From darkness, lead me to light.
With the sense of an ending of the journey of Batch 2014-16, I stand satisfied
for, if not in all, at least in a few of students, this has been realised.
Needless to say that I wish for the better future of the students and it goes
without saying that I hope for the life full of restlessness and agitation, as it is in
such struggles that we enjoy the life, the most!
~ Dilip Barad

 Annual Reports:
(1) Daily Schedule Committee :
By Urvi Dave
"The function of prayer is not to influence God, but rather to
change the nature of the one who prays".
Daily Schedule is a platform through which we get all kinds of
knowledge. We start from Prayer, then Thought for the Day, News Reading, Vocabulary
Drill, Personal Presentation, Opinion Building, Poetry Recitation, Regional Literature, Book
Report, General Knowledge, Humor of the day and end with our National Song. The
activities are a blessing for us as we get information about the academic and non- academic
things. It updates our day to day knowledge and enhances our confidence as well as
speaking skills. It is like a energy drink from which we get energized. Since our school
time, we have been doing prayer and this tradition is going on here too. Prayers are done in
various languages like English, Hindi, Gujarati and Sanskrit. These activities help the
students to deal with their hidden talents. We also celebrate Hindi Day in which every event
starting from Prayer to humor of the day is held in Hindi language. Students bring their
creativity like poems, movie reviews, book reviews as it needs ideas to think and write
review or a report. Students learn how to manage the things when they are anchoring in the
Daily Schedule.
Finally I am thankful to each member of the Daily Schedule Committee i.e. Vanita
Tadha, Vanita Baldaniya, Jayshree Solanki, Ranjan Velari, Nimesh Dave, Ravi Bhaliya,
Amee Sojitra, Nupur Vyas, Gopi Pipavat, Dipali Parmar, Divya Choudhary, Binaba Gohil
who helped me in making the final report. A special thanks to Dr. Dilip Barad and
Department of English for giving me an opportunity to handle all the things from which I
also enhanced my skills and also my stage fear wiped away.
(2) ICT Committee :
By Milan Parmar
Literature and science has always been at conflict, but in the
department of English things are different. In department both literature
and science walks together keep hand in hand. The second decade of this
century is of information and technology and communication, these are
inseparable parts of studies. In department of English students get
chance to use various communicative tools to stay connect and to study with the world.
In department different technological tools are used to make teaching process more
enjoyable, more interesting and effective. We make use of various tools while studying
literature. There are different committees in department for different purpose. ICT
committee is one of them which take care of ICT tools like projectors, language lab, Music
system, laptops and of internet connections.
From the very first day in the department students are introduced with online
entrance test to get admission in the department of English. Department is very progressive
in matter of using and integrating technology in learning environment. One of the
advantages of studying in this department is that you will learn many things regarding
technology and web tools which are very helpful in teaching and learning process.
It is because of our teacher Dr. Dilip Barad that we are able to use laptops and
language lab. Computers and laptops are in ample numbers that all students can work.
Department is facilitated with language lab. It has laptop bank that students can use. In
laptop bank we have 17 laptops and 7 mini laptops.
Students make use these tools for Gmail
updates
Google group activities
Online group discussion
Unit end tests
To access information from web
To prepare their assignments and publish it on www.blogger.com
To make presentation and then to share it on www.slideshare.net
Each and every students are given DVD of their presentation videos which are later
uploaded on you tube channels created by student. When students are entered in the
fourth semester, under the guidance of Dr.Dilip Barad students are taught to create their
own Google sites ePortfolio. ePortfolios are the show case of students’ two years academic
activities. Under the Shakshat project of blended learning headed by Dr. Dilip barad.
Faculties make use of movie screening for the better understanding of literary texts.
During this year we had seen many film adoptions of literary texts. There are Movies
screening by Heenaba zala
Gulivers’ Travel,Robinson Crusoe,Oliver twist,Short stories by Poe,The Scarlet Letter, The
Old man and the sea,etc
Movie screening by Dr. Dilip Barad
Hamlet, Dr. Faustus, The Birth day Party, The waiting for Godot, To the Light House,
Midnightchildrens' , Reluctant Fundamentalists, One night at the call centre, Harry
Potter,etc
The most difficult responsibility of ICT committee is to set up IP addresses whenever
there is a new computer is connected to Ciscob, but this also worked out very well
throughout last year with the great help from ICT members, Sagar Ladhva, Nikunj Bhatti,
Kishan Kubavat, Vanita Tadha, Pritiba Gohil, Devikaba Gohil and my special thanks to Ravi
Bhaliya and semester two boys.
First of all I would like to thanks our HOD Dr. DIlip Barad that he provides such
techno-Friendly environment in place like Bhavnagar. In last I would like to thanks all ICT
members for their incredible help in duties of ICT committee and thanks to my classmates
who always cooperate and helped us whenever there need arise.
Thank you Department.
(3) Bulletin Board Committee :
By Asmita Gond
Bulletin board is not only an educational gadget but I would
like to say that it is a’ place’ where if anybody can entered and can grasp each and
everything not only information but also various knowledge and creativities of different
students. Bulletin board is the mirror of any institution which shows x-ray image of student’s
ability of creation and expression, which runs with contribution of student’s creativities.
“If you not willing to learn no one can help you If you are determined to learn no one
can stop you”
In our department of English students shares their various creativity like Poems,
Drawings, short stories, Articles etc. Also bulletin board contains memories in form of
collage which reminds us memories of our senior. So it is not only part of traditions but also
it preserves all memories. It is our tradition to write thoughts and quotations into the ‘writing
board’ by students as well as professors also. We have also bulletin boards into our
classrooms, where students were putting various creativity in to the form of quotations,
poems, or drawings which reflects positive image of living class rooms.
Bulletin board also shows positive image of any institution because when any visitor
will enter into department he/she will first observe notice board where he can found charts of
student’s results, list of organized activities, etc. which creates positive image among other
people. Bulletin board not only observes by visitors but also observe by our professors and
they were also gives feedback and they also encourage students. In daily schedule whatever
presented by students those things was also we put on notice board so that it can preserve as
memorable creation.
As a leader of Bulletin board committee I would like to say that all the bulletin board
committee members has help me a lot to collect students creativity to count them and also to
put into notice board. Here I found that how team work can make work easy and interesting.
So Bulletin board is soul of our department which can helps us to enhance our ability and
also our confidence level.
So I would like to say thanks to Dr. Dilip Barad who encourages every day to students to put
their creativity into notice board, and also he gives scope to show students’ abilities. So don’t
say that notice board only gives us information but it also gives knowledge and self-
confidence.
(4) Gardening Committee :
By Dipti Vaghela
Before to starting the report of this committee I would to highlight
some lines from the poem written by Harry Behn as under,
‘Trees are the kindest things I know,
They do no harm, they simply grow
And spread a shade for sleepy cows,
And gather birds among the boughs.’
Here from this poem we can understand that how trees are important to living our life.
Without them we can’t survive in the world. And if we believe that by growing trees we are
doing something great but don’t think so. We are saving trees for our life and we must have
to accept it. And from this perspective we must have to do that. So from this view we grew
up many trees in our Garden of Department. And we make one committee for caring of the
garden under the guidance of the head of the Department Dr. Dilip Barad. So let’s know How
this committee doing work throughout the year.
There are 23 members in this committee. There are many trees and many small plants
in our Garden. There is one tradition of our Department related with this committee. Every
year, one batch planting minimum one tree as the memory of the year. We celebrate
Gardening day which was held on 20th
July, 2015. On that day we planted some trees and
some small plants. There is one photo from that wonderful memory.
In our life we all are dependent on each other as same we are dependent on trees and
they are on us. So as a part of Nature we must have to take care of each other. So throughout
the year as a part of this committee we care all those trees. During some difficult moment for
this Garden we were thinking that we may lose our Garden. Because there was plan to build
new building on the area of our Garden but we requested to V.C that save this Garden. Then
after that effort they change their plan and we can save our trees.
Thus, Garden is the place where students take their lunch and have fun in the Garden.
So our happiest movements we passed in the Garden. Thanks to Dilip Sir for build up such a
wonderful place as a part of the Department of English.
(5) Library committee :
By Nimesh Dave
Library is essential in a process of giving students access to
knowledge. In present times they are needed more than ever before. Most
importantly, however, libraries are the places where you can expect smart
and clear answers to even most difficult questions. As Neil Gaiman says:
“Google can bring you back 100,000 answers, a library can bring you back
the right one.”
Celebration of Gardening day
Department of English, MKBU is full of various facilities, one of them is our Library.
Earlier it used to happen that all the students has to go to the university library for books.
But since few years we are able to create our own library with large number of books, next
to our classroom. And every year numbers of books are increasing. Thanks to Dr. Dilip Barad
sir for that. Department strongly believes in the idea that -To build up a library is to create
life. It’s never just a random collection of books.
Here it is appropriate to quote the words of Harold Howe that "What an institution
thinks about its library is a measure of what it feels about education."
And Department is one such place where lot of planning and preparation is done for
better & effective management of library. Every year with the admission of new students,
we elect library committee and a Leader. And throughout the year these students run
the library.
Every student takes maximum advantage of library. Not only students but also
visiting faculties and Research scholar also regularly visit Library. We have so many novels,
plays, CD - DVD of so many texts adapted into films, Audio - visual content & reading
material of SCOPE to improve LANGUAGE, UGC-NET preparation books, books of theory and
criticism as well as so many reference books. The list can be extended....!!
It is appropriate to quote here Woolf and Sheldon....
"I ransack public libraries, and find them full of sunk treasure."
–Virginia Woolf
"Libraries store the energy that fuels the imagination. They open up windows to the world
and inspire us to explore and achieve, and contribute to improving our quality of life."
–Sidney Sheldon
Working as a leader of Library committee is amazing experience, though it is a bit
difficult task. There may be hardly a single day when I don't have opened library. we don't
have fixed any time limit for library. Any time, any one, while working hour may come and
say I want to issue books !!!! (Sometimes during recess while taking lunch also!!!!!) & we
have never denied to anybody. These are the life skills I've acquire while studying in
Department. Dedication and commitment I learn from here. All the students, madam and
especially Dilip Sir are great supporters, without their cooperation effective management
of library could not be possible. And I hope that students of coming batches will carry this
tradition & give their contribution in growth and development of Department and library.
(6) Celebration Committee :
By Pritiba Gohil
“Sometimes you will never know the true value of a moment until becomes
a memory.”
Very well said that sometimes you will never know the true value of a moment until it
becomes a memory. And things becomes memory only when it is celebrated very well. So
today what I am going to talk about is celebration.
Celebration is part our life. “Life is a celebration, Enjoy it well”. Celebrations of
every functions is a part of Indian culture and this same culture is followed by our
Department of English. In our department we celebrates so many things like i.e. Navratri
Celebration, Birthday celebration etc.
This year we celebrated so many things and festivals like International Yoga Day,
Gardening, Guru Purnima, Welcome Function, Teachers Day, Hindi Divas, Blood
Donation Camp, Youth Festival, Christmas Eve, Samuh Bhojan, Picnic, Kite Flying
Festival, Navratri, Vegetables Day, Signature Day etc.
We also celebrates Birthdays of Students of our Department of English and Birthdays
of Poets and writers because Birthdays are very special day of some one’s life. So on the
Birthday of Students we make Birthday card for them and wishes them a great future ahead.
This is also part of our tradition in the Department. This celebrations of events is a part of
our education. Our Department of English provides us all the things to make ourselves
happy. With the help of this kind of festivals we learns that How To Celebrates Life because
our life is also one kind of celebration itself.
At last I want to thank you all the members of Celebration Committee. Thank you to
all of you and a very Special Thanks to our Sir Prof. Dr. Dilip Barad that he provides this
kind of things in our Department of English that we also learns lessons from life with our
studies. So, thank you to all of you. Life is what you celebrate.
(7) Creative Writing Committee :
By Bhumi Joshi
It is said that ........"Artists are born not made."
This is quite new idea to share with all of you that many
of us decide to use The Department as professional stage to share creativity and promotes to
those who have the quality of an Artist.
Creativity can be taught but it must be nurtured, too. Mostly creativity lies within but
it remains hidden because of lack of proper platform. First of all I am very grateful to Dr.
Dilip Barad that he gave the chance to create new committee with the name of 'Creative
Writing Committee' in which students can share their own things like.... their poetry,
article, short stories or anything. it mean it should be written by student himself.
All students have different abilities. Some are expert in Rangoli, Some are in Music or
song, Some are in Elocutions and some are in writing. Means Each has different quality in
different field which is connected with Art. Such things can't be imposed to anyone. It lies
within. So, this committee promotes students as writer, as singer, as speaker, as painter etc...
with the facilitate to their art. Creativity can be taught only when one is interested in it and
have basic sagacity for it but it must be nurtured. It is considered as much spontaneous rather
than force.
Students are free to share their views, messages and anything which is done by them
in department. For this I also thankful to Daily Schedule committee and Celebration
committee . In daily schedules students share their Poems, Gazals, Hayku, critical writing and
other forms of writing.
In this committee we arranged different competitions during the Youth Festival as the
part of " Youth festival Selection". We arranged Elocution competition, Essay Competition,
Online Quiz Competition, Rangoli Competition, SwaRachitKavya Pathan Competition,
Mono Act Competition, etc... Such different competitions offer the stage to students show
their art to people and get opportunity to grow in particular field.
I also thankful to members of Creative writing committee and all my classmates and
dear juniors and specially Pritiba ,Dipti, Milan, Ravi who support to do work during the year.
we are beginning this from present year and I hope that this will be continue in upcoming
years also by dear Juniors to make it more creative for Creative Writing Committee .
Thank You.
(8) About Picnic :
By Pritiba Gohil
“It’s about the journey, Not the Destination”
Picnic is very important part of education system and as per my understanding all
students are waiting eagerly for the day of Picnic.
Our Department of English also organizes picnic every year. But important thing of
this Department is all students will decides that where they want to go. Picnic is planned out
by all the students and this time this opportunity is taken by me. At first stage this thing is not
very easy to plane out picnic very easily. This thing needs help and I got help from all my
friends and from all my classmates.
This time we all are very excited because in a history of Department of English it
happened very first time that we arranged picnic at very far place from Bhavnagar. And that
places are Diu and Somnath Temple located in Prabhas Patan near Veraval in Saurashtra on
the western coast of Gujarat. And because of this all students are very excited for picnic.
We planned to start our journey on 11th of January 2016 on Monday at 11:30 p.m.
in the night, 12th of January 2016 - Tuesday is the day of picnic and we reach back to
Bhavnagar on 13th of January 2016 Wednesday in the night around 2 or 3 a.m. this one day
picnic becomes picnic of two days picnic.
We started our journey on 11th of January 2016 on Monday at 11:30 p.m. in the
night but our bus reached late at our department we leaved department around 1:30 in the
night. Then first we reached Diu in the morning and we take our breakfast there and we saw
so many things there like Diu fort, beaches, some temples, some historical places, church,
museum etc. we take our lunch there and then we go to beach called Nagva beach and after
that we leaved Diu for Somnath.
We reached there in the evening, visited this Somnath Temple famous for Lord
Shiva we take our dinner there. We tried to see light and fountain show there but
unfortunately that show was cancelled and after that we leaved Somnath Temple at 10 p.m.
for reaching Bhavnagar.
We reached Bhavnagar at 5 a.m. in the morning on 13th January 2016 on
Wednesday. This one day picnic became picnic of 2 nights and 1 day picnic. But as it is said
that it’s all about journey, not about destination. We enjoyed a lot and had a great picnic.
At last I want to thank you our Prof. Dr. Dilip Barad sir for making this trip very
happy and awesome. And I am very thankful to Part sir too for his support. The thing is
Heena Ma’m is not part of this picnic this time and because of that we missed her so much.
Specially I want to thank all the Boys of Semester – 4 to Ravi Bhaliya, Kishan
Kubavat, Nikunj Bhatti, Sagar Ladhva, Nimesh Dave, Milan Parmar and Hitesh Galthariya.
That they managed things related to travels and travellers, they helped a lot in managing the
things like food and Bus. So, I heartily thanking you to all of you for making this long
distance picnic possible without any hurdles.
Thank you to all my classmates and our juniors too. Thank you to all of you for making
our last picnic .........“Find JOY, In your Journey”
(9) Documentation Committee :
By Bhumi Joshi
"Lack of documentation is becoming a problem for acceptance."
Documentation has played the most significant role and it is the
important side of institution during the year. Documentation is a big word.
In the Department Of English we all do academic and non academic
activities during the entire year. Documentation is just like foot prints
which shows the path to next generation and hand over the tradition.
In the Department of English we have done so many activities and this documentation
shows the efforts of the students and their achievements. New term has been begun with the
grand celebration of "The First International Yoga Day" on 21/June/2015.This
documentation is the reflection of students what they have done during the year. The
Department of English provide much free space to do things whichever students want to do.
We have different committees like..... ICT committee, Gardening committee, Library
committee, Bulletin Board committee, Celebration committee, Creative Writing committee,
and Documentation committee, Each committee has its leader and they do their work
creatively and with sincerity. They are free to take decision for their committee.
We preserve our sweet memories. It is not individual's responsibility but it's team
work. It is an Institution. To maintain huge building we have to notify first minor pillar. The
same way, this committee take care of every student's activities and events. It is footprint
which we left behind us and create new vision for next generation . In Department Students
are free to share their Arts, Views , and thoughts and other creative and critical views about
anything. In this memorabilia we record everything so that it can be preserve the generation
and direct to new generation. and everything is preserved in the form of images, videos and
other written documents,
It is a journey of memory. It gives much pleasure. Some great activities and grand
achievements are notified here . Students gets the precious opportunity to show their Arts
and Skills. Students participate to present the research paper in National and International
conferences.
In this year, there are 5 Ph.D Viva Voice had been done in the department and the
luckily Dr. Dilip Barad is the guide of the three out of five. Thus, research facilities are also
scholar. Department has sufficient material to guide all of them. I congratulate Nidhi Jasani
for securing 3rd rank in "RajatRang- 2015" and Bhumi Joshi who got 1st rank in 'Prose
Reading Competition' which was held by GadhyaSabha in Shamaldas Arts College,
Bhavnagar. We all are happy that our HOD is elected as the E.C. of Maharajakumarsinhji
Bhavnagar University. And now Dr .Dilip Barad has new responsibility also.
Congratulation to Dr. Dilip Barad sir. Our visiting faculty Heenaba Zala got the degree of
Ph.D in this year (7,December, 2015) and for that on behalf of the department I congratulate
her for her great achievement.
Through the integration of technology , students of the department are able to
compete with the world. Department cultivates the new ways for students. All activities
increase the self confidence to each students.
I have beautiful opportunity to preserve all things in this memorabilia being the
leader of Documentation committee. Really, it is remarkable thing for me because I learn so
many things with each event. I am thankful to respected Madam Heenaba Zala , Parth Bhatt,
my committee members and all my classmates and specially to Dr.Dilip Barad who teach all
of us the hard work and the real meaning of the dedication.
Thank You

I was a lonely wanderer,
and you were a sweet resort.
I was an aimless widsith,
And you gave me reason and vision.
I was an ignorant fool,
And you made me wise and cool.
I was a rootless plant, which
Need land and nourishment.
And you were the fertile land, which
Nourish me with fruitful thoughts.
I was a sleepless nights' dreamer
And you showed me the path to fulfill.
My mind was freezed before
I had met you.
And you fired it with sparkling thoughts
I was not what am I now,
You made me what am I.
I'm and always will be grateful
To you
It's you, Department of English it's you.......

But no reply you any time.
I think you have no devises!
I ask everyone, have you seen?
Once again no one reply.
Everybody think I have gone made,
So I ask like that!
Then I believe God is no more.

Why did I like “Manjhi - The Mountain Man”
“SPEED DOEN’T MATTERS, BUT DIRECTION DOES."
A film by Ketan Mehta and after long time NFDC produces a film
after Quissa or Thaher desh. Movie introducing Nawazuddin Siddiqui as
dashrath, Radhika Apte as fagunia, Tigmanshu Dhulia as mukhiya of Gehlore
village of Bihar. Radhika Apte was also lead part of short film “the day after
everyday ”by anurag kashyap. There she is doing an ordinary house wife roll.
Tigmanshu Dhulia is mukhiya of village and a high class man who against the
law of equality. NAWAZUDDIN SIDDIQUI introducing as dashrath manjhi –
the mountain man in movie. Whole movie is around the mountain man’s love,
aim and unbelievable dedication.
The starting of movie is make little bit unconscious about Why, How,
What ? but after some flash back/forward we get the little idea about the
movie.
Dashrath comes from Dhanbadh to his village with wearing yellow
color shirt and red pent, which shows the aim he achieved by wearing a yellow
color and how power full he was feeling when coming back to home from
job/work and law of equality also there so Yellow|Red color used was good
idea.
Then movie shows the real problems and relations of people after
Independence and how people used to live in ‘60s. The lower class people are
untouchable and they used to work at lower grade, do not allow to use public
sources. One of Dashrath’s friend burned into brick stone manufacturing place,
after that Dashrath and his friend doing philosophy about the death and
powerless lives. This particular scene was shot after astronomical twilight.
Where whole sky is blue (Blue color is use for hope & powerless).
Movie is based on love story, but romance in this movie is very
unusual. They fight for his love but movie is not based on that. Movie is based
on if you loved someone what you can do for her/him. Dashrath want to break
mountain but he was facing many external and internal problem, but there is a
will there is a way. A movie shows how hard he worked and face, so many
problems. Acting of Nawazuddin Siddiqui is as usual real like character have to
be. Radhika Apte also doing a great work in acting. Tigmanshu Dhulia is a
master of doing high class bihari role as in GOW. Other actors also done his/her
part very good. Direction of movie is wonderful with good cinematography.
After seeing this movie I can deduce that for the success either you
need AIM or LOVE. Bill Gates, Steave Jobs, Ratan Tata might be have AIM in
their life and that’s why they succeed, and people like Dashrath Manhji, Chrish
Gardner (real life story same as this movie “the pursuits of happyness (2007) ”
have LOVE with someone.
All Over NFDC done a great job again and this time with Ketan Mehta
“Manjhi – The Mountain Man ” India’s Real story based movie.

Brothers
‎ Brothers released on this riday which has been officially adapted
from the critically acclaimed 20 Hollywood movie Warrior, directed byGavin
O’Connor. The story displays dispute between Two brothers, David (Akshay)
and Monty (Sidharth), both having their own reasons to get on to the battlefield
as street fighters. Where Akshay Kumar appeared to be a perfect choice for the
role of David. The Khiladi of Bollywood is always a desirable watch when it
comes to action, and with his balanced performance and conviction in Brothers,
Akshay ruled most of the movie. But on the other hand Sidharth Malhotra has
done good work and has given justice to his role. According to my point of view
this movie is an awesome because we are habituated with watching a mingling
of emotion with Action packed drama nd therefore it is appreciated for the
action lovers.
Akshay Kumar represent his role as Teacher. As we saw him
as Professor in Gabbar Is Back . So the concept of teacher can change the world
of thinking and sense in life is observable. Teacher can be at the stage of learn
and relearn of small to the big things one can motivational for students in life.
Moreover, if you haven’t watched Warrior, this could be a novelty for
you! As First part of the movie it is like Family and emotional which touches to
the hearts of millions of viewers and the second is like watching WWE!
However,
Internet as well as Media plays a very vital role at the climax of the
movie as it is found in Salman Khan's movie Bajrangi Bhaijan. So overall it is a
movie portrays two brothers. Though it has very weak plot construction but the
pasteurization, cinematography and unique style of presenting makes it simply
best.

CHHELO DIVAS
Review about movie 'Chhello Divas's.A New Beginning 'very well
describing of comedy through growing up journey of 8 collage friends .Movie is
comedy Gujarati film. Now Gujarati movie are going to next level. also
important note down then movie many dialogues conversation medium is
English language. last speech of collage day to most of telling about during time
of life golden day and never forget to ever of those day...!!
In this movie main characters like.....Vicki, Nikhil, Loy, Dhulo, Pooja, Isha
Generally, we watch Gujarati movie than first to come idea that Guajarati
movie was made some traditional looking way to present. but now producer
Shard Patel was totally different way to present Guajarati culture. Further
important things like in this movie had gone Modern culture or impact of
western culture. There movie is present day very success or highest stage of
super duper hits for another Guajarati movie. of course movie story, dialogue
song(English song),and kiddies(new) actors fantastic acting or many other parts
movie has great effect on Hindi cinema’s or southern movie Producer. Here I
share on Gujarati newspaper one article about movie talking with director Shard
Patel. I also share Image of interview about Movie director Gujarat News
Paper.
In addition, this movie about such rather related to westernize
culture through present value. Here important point note out that there is no
only positively show by our society. There can be large number of people to
bang this movie or such kind use social media through bad movie to represent to
Guajarati culture. I have share such to photograph of social media on what’s up
post in related to these movie.
Whenever we show other Gujarati movie like: 'Desh Re Joya Dada
Parsdeh','Vikram Thakor', 'Ramli Ricksahvali', and etc....it matter about love or
revenge all over traditional looking that Guajarati famous has
‘Chniyacholi,Chakado,Bullet byke..or etc things but these movie has vast
different for all Guajarati movie. It has related to modern educations, which
provide to college campus or here comic way to satire also our richest family’s
son. It can be we show that very portrayal to double meaningful dialogue
among many characters. Also some pure Guajarati language dialogue was to
give laughing…
Here interesting that such pure Gujarati speaking is very funny or
laughing to audience. The most important things title itself suggest that new
Gujarati cinema emerge to new modern look.

Inception
Directed by – Christopher Nolan
Produced by – Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan
Written by – Christopher Nolan
Starring – Leonardo DiCaprio, Ken Watanabe, Ellen Page Tom Hardy, Cillian
Murphy, Tom Berenger, Michael Caine
What is in ? –
“Inception” the title itself creates a doubt that what is in the movie
or Inception is about what. The movie at the very beginning or we can say that
from the very title it captures the attention of audience. The movie is made in
between the dream and the reality. Moreover the long part capture with dream
sequence because it is at the centre. The central character rather protagonist of
this movie is Cobb. The movie made in a very brutal massing where audience
also lost themselves and with that maze Nolan tests us with his own dazzling
maze.
The movie is not only beautiful at the story but portrayed the
images and scenes are also extraordinary. The story can be wind up in few
sentences or not told at all. The movie is all about process about fighting our
way through invasive sheets of reality and dream, reality within dreams, dreams
without reality. This movie also considered as a breathtaking manage act. The
story of this movie or screenplay starts by Nolan while he may have considered
his ‘Momento’ a warm-up.
This movie is about the fragmented relationship of the dream and
the reality. People or audience never realizes that when they are in dream or
reality if they aren’t attentive with this movie. It is just like “Bhulbhuliya” in
between the dream and the reality. If they are not attentive they don’t know that
when they’re dreaming and what if they’re inside another man’s dream? How
does their dream time synch with his.
Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a corporate robber of the highest
order. He infiltrates the mind of other men to steal their ideas. This is very good
idea if it is apply to do good work but is can be also used for the negative work
and that’s what Cobb do. The skill that he used for the sake of revenge or to
destroyed other people. He is hired by a powerful billionaire to do the opposite;
to introduce an idea into a rival’s mind and do it so well he believes it is his
own. But the mind is very powerful that it must catch the foreign ideas. So it is
very difficult to put our ideas in other mind because minds are very alert. Cobb
is agreeing with Saito to do this work.
Likewise he assembles a team to complete the task. The team is
like- Arthur (Joseph Gordom – Levitt), his longtime associate; Eames (Tom
Hardy), a master at deception; Yusuf (Dileep Rao), a master chemist. Cobb goes
to touch base with his father-in-law Miles (Michael Caine), who knows what he
does and how he does it. And the new recruit, Ariadne (Ellen Page), a brilliant
young architect who is prodigy at creating spaces. Meanwhile she asked the
reason about the creating space in the dream and Cobb explain to her that
dreams have a shifting architecture. Cobb need her to create a maze or inception
and introduce in the mind of rival’s mind and stolen his idea that he thought for
his further corporation. She tries to create maze twice and third time she
successful to influenced Cobb by her work. The scene of how she creating a
maze is very beautifully by film director. It is marvellous.

Phantom
Phantom is a 2015 Indian action thriller film directed by Kabir
Khan and produced by SajidNadiadwala and Siddharth Roy
Kapurstarring SaifAliKhan and Katrina Kaif in leading roles.[3]
The screenplay
of the film has been written in coordination with author Hussain Zaidi's
book Mumbai Avengers on the aftermath of 26/11 Mumbai attacks.[4]
The
trailer was released on 25 July 2015.[5]
The film was released worldwide on 28
August 2015 with mixed reviews.
plot:
Phantom begins with a car chase in Chicago, which ends with a man plunging
into the icy waters of a river. The protagonist (Saif Ali Khan) is convicted for
murder and jailed. Cut to the office of the Indian R.A.W. chief (Sabyasachi
Chakrabarty), where he and his trusted men (Rajesh Tailang, Mohammed
Zeeshan Ayyub) plan a daring covert operation. Daniyal Khan, a dead-end ex-
soldier with a completely deadened sense of life and death is pulled out of
oblivion and pressed into service by the spy agency to wreak vengeance on the
men who planned the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
The R.A.W. chief who orders the killings does not have the permission of the
home minister and hence he has to keep everything under wraps. The reclusive
Daniyal fits his plan like a glove. his wishful construct, derived from S Hussain
Zaidi's book Mumbai Avengers, is pretty flat and predictable, especially in the
first half as the angry male protagonist, sacked from the army on charges of
desertion, grabs the opportunity to redeem himself
 Critical reception
1)Meena Iyer of The times of India gave Phantom 3.5 stars, calling it
anoversimplified but patriotic thriller.
2)Rajeev Masand of IBN Live gave it 2 stars calling it slow paced, boring and a
" wish fulfillment fantasy".
(3)Shubha Shetty-Saha of Mid-day gave it 3 stars stating the "powerful story is
diluted by the use of too many cinematic liberties and a rather lazy
screenplay","Flaws aside, it talks of a real concern facing all of us, even while
taking a flight of fantasy"
(4) Shweta Kaushal of Hindustan Times gave it 2.5 stars calling Khan and
Kaif's performances "pedestrian" but calling the work of Sohaila Kapur,
Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Sabyasachi Chakraborty "power-packed".
The movie main theme is Saif posing a question where he asks, “If the US
can find and kill Osama in Pakistan, why can’t India do the same?”
The trailer also includes internationally designated terrorist Hafiz Saeed’s
original speech where he is seen saying,
“Kya tumne yeh saabit kar diya ki Mumbai hamla Hafiz Saeed ne kiya
tha?”
Indian is only one problem is his rules of constitution any officer of
any department not gave order without permission but my view is that some
times broke the rule for any good work is not a big sin . here I am also show the
tragedy of The protagonist daniyal khan (Saif Ali Khan) is convicted for
murder and jailed. but in reality he was the captain of his battalion and fight
against the another country's army force but daniyal khan's all the soldiers are
tired and radio is not working so he decide to go for help and when he go for
help all his team soldiers killed in attack. and only daniyal is live so Indian army
says to him you are liar you gone from war land his father also not talk with him
.his all the respect are gone .so at the last scene of movie indian navy wait for
permission to go Pakistan’s ocean border and help to raw agent daniyal khan
or nvaj who killed main masterminds of the 26/11 attack — Zaki-ur-Rehman
Lakhvi, Hafiz Saeed, David Coleman Headley and Sajid Mir. and come back
with victory. So in movie gave moral to Indian army you have power to do
anything but first of all you do with passion and power.

Does literature lie???
Does literature lie or it expresses universal truth?, that is the question arise in my
mind while studying literature.
I want to put forward my arguments with the books like Frankenstein by Mary Shelley,
Dr, Faustus by Christopher Marlowe, a story that is in the 12th English and even Paradise
Lost by John Milton.
Let me start by Dr. Faustus – a play by Christopher Marlowe. Setting of this play
is in Renaissance era. Very impressive description is given in the first monologue. He is the
scholar from the university from of Wittenberg. He has acquired all the knowledge available
at that time, like history, economics, medicine, law, physics and many other fields. I can say
that he has acquired such a large quantity of knowledge in 16th century that may not have
common people of 21st century. Dr. Faustus was synonym of knowledge.
But then even he was not satisfied with the knowledge he has!!!!!!!! He was still
hungry for more knowledge. And then to gain more knowledge he makes contract with
Mephistopheles- a devil, that Mephistopheles will give him power and after 24 years Faustus
will give her soul to devil. Dr. Faustus willingly accepts this!!!!! And Ultimately, Faustus in
last monologue regrets and suffers a lot and dies a tragic death.
Now my point is that why knowledge is portrayed in negative shade by writer. The
question in my mind is that whether writers know universal- ultimate truth or they (writers)
are also biased? Is knowledge really destroy person or writer portrays it like this because the
contemporary society believed so?
If we glance in the field of science and technology then we come to know that
knowledge of anything is becoming boon for mankind. Edison, Newton, Einstein etc scientist
were also hungry for more knowledge, and it is because of their thrust for knowledge we ‘ve
electricity, technological gadgets, mobiles, heavy machinery, mobiles, engines,
transportation, progress in aeronautics (space), internet etc. all these things are essential part
of our day to day life.
If these things won’t be there then we are still like cave men. what is the difference
between them and us. Modern progress and development became possible only possible
because of basic human nature- desire to know more. Now if one tries to get knowledge what
is wrong in that – that he is portrayed in negative way and given tragic end to his life.
Person like Faustus and Victor Frankenstein are like candle. they burn themselves
and give light to others. It is only because of their sacrifice personal lives and hard work, we
enjoy all the privileges of our lives. Another example is victor Frankenstein- a protagonist of
the novel ‘ rankenstein’ by Mary Shelley.
He was an eccentric scientist, who wants to know the secret of life. He gives so
many years of his lives to the research that it is possible to make dead person alive by
electricity. And after a dedicated, determined hard work of long time he did so. He joints the
different parts of the corpse and creates a monster- life into a dead one!!!!!!!!!
And then the novel is full of suffering and pain of victor. He loses all his near and
dear- father, mother, brother and even his beloved Elizabeth. (all killed by monster) and
ultimately victor dies a tragic death.
Now again the question comes into my mind is that why Mary Shelley gave tragic
end to Victor? Why gaining a secrets of life- knowledge is curse rather than boon in the
novel?
Is this the warning to the 21st century people ( or any living being) that don’t run
behind knowledge otherwise you will also suffer like Victor!!!!!!! Is any writer can see what
we common people cannot see? Or is it true that “ Knowledge is unhappiness and Ignorance
is bliss ? Or writers are also biased ? or they have done injustice to their character. Because
they cannot think beyond social norms.
Renaissance and Romanticism was a time when people were slowly and steadily
coming out from dark age towards light. People have started to develop scientific approach in
their life. Rather than religion science was predominating every spheres of life.If writer is
universal genius then why he prefers religion over science? To please few groups of
people? To earn money? Or to treat people? Even the same case with the Paradise Lost by
John Milton. Where God punishes Adam and Eve for eating a fruit of knowledge. But
why???? What is wrong in that???
In developed countries like U.S, Japan and many others have prepared highly modern
robots. Slowly we are moving into the era of robotic culture. Recently I have read in
newspaper that Robots are used as a waiters in restaurant. Recently there was soccer
competition of robots, which was won by Australia. NASA is also sending robots into space.
List is long……………
My point for talking about the role of robots in 21st century is that IN ONE OR THE
ANOTHER WAY
ROBOTS ARE ALSO EQUAL TO THE MONSTER OF FRANKENSTEIN. Basic idea to
create like into dead one by electricity is taken from. Traces of this idea is into the mind of
Victor Frankenstein.
It (Robots) is becoming boon for us then why Monster becomes curse for Victor?? Or
because of that era writer don’t realize its importance.
Should we think in this way or it is indication (like movie Robot) that this artificial
intelligence will one day create problem for its creator???
One more example that I give that is a story from 12th English.
The setting of this story is 2094- in future and in this story technology is portrayed as
villainous.
It is a story of a school girl who don’t like her mechanical teacher. ( mechanical
teacher means computer) there was a computer in her room where she used to study whole
day. There was some error in her mechanical teacher , so that girl was relaxed- felling happy.
But her mother calls technician and makes computer functioning well. Then her grandfather
gives her book about school but that girl hates even name of school. It was a printed book.
She has never seen printed book in her life. She was surprised to see stable words on book.
This school girl considers it stupid that what is the use of this printed book once after it read.
She has so many books on her computer screen.
But then her grandfather tells her that IT IS A BOOK ABOUT THE SCHOOL THEY HAD.
Then her grandfather tells her story – once there were TEACHERS ( HUMAN
BEING) to teach children. Then girl speaks beautiful sentence that HOW CAN A MAN BE
A TEACHER? ( because of high technological era she was taught only by the computers.)
The girl exclaimed that I will not allow any unknown person to enter into my ho use. At that
time her grandfather laughed and replied that teachers do not come home to teach you.
There was separate rooms and buildings for students. All boys and girls were going
there to study. It was a place called school. Then there is wonderful description of REAL
SCHOOL. The girl lost into the stories of her grandfather & thinks about the days THEY
HAD.- A DAY OF REAL SCHOOL. Where everyone was studying, laughing, playing,
enjoying together.( helping each other in homework, going school on bicycle, a time when
teachers were real man) REALLY EDUCATION-SCHOOL WAS NOT MONOTONOUS
AS IT IS NOW!!!!!!!!!!!
This story, like many other stories is an futuristic vision of writer, that what kind of
schools will be there in the days to come. That school will be in your drawing room.
Teachers will be replaced by the computers and lifeless, dull, monotonous teaching –learning
will be there. Education won’t be interesting as it is now. Computers can give you knowledge
but it can’t give you love, affection and sympathy which teacher can. If teachers will be
replaced by the computers then it will kill the basic spirit of children. This is the thing I think
writer wants to tell through this story.
Now the question comes in my mind is that why educational technology is shown as
harmful ? as I have asked in earlier parts , that same question can be ask here again also.( as
generally it is said and believed in literature) if writers are extraordinary human being with
futuristic insight then will it be true what he is telling in his story? Is it a prediction for
human race or HE IS A TRADITIONAL, ORTHODOX PERSON WHO CANNOT THINK
BEYOND SOMETHING.
I have read and observed that new things (invented) are not easily accepted by the
people. You will be surprised to know that when electricity was invented, most of the people
were protesting it, rather than supporting it. Now can you live today without electricity??? ( it
means that contemporary people were wrong) so writers are also part of that society who
don’t realize the importance of new thing.
During Industrial Revolution heavy machinery was invented. At that time also people
were protesting it- that it will replace human being. There are still some people who prefer
bullock cart over tractors in agriculture ( farming) My point is that every new things faces
problems initially. Contemporary people with traditional, orthodox mentality faces problems
in accepting new things.
IS THIS THE SAME CASE IN THIS STORY???????
EVERY coin has two side. I am not denying negative parts of any. My point
particularly about this story is that – think about the positive changes technology can bring in
teaching- learning process. Audio, video, images and internet can give far better learning
experience which only teacher and ‘chalk and talk method’ can’t.
Teacher, even though efficient , master and specialist in his subject cannot explain the
outside world really as it is. By sitting in your classroom you cannot explain the glory of the
African Jungle, but you can do that easily by showing video.
You can neither go in space nor explain SPACE ( stars, galaxy, planets) but you can
show images and videos about that to do it in better. way.It is proved through research that
Audio- Visual teaching aids creates better understanding as well as this points goes into long
term memory of student.
Volcano, flood, earthquake, water- air pollution, internal body mechanism,
historically important places, rivers, wonders of the world………etc… for students it is not
possible to visit but technology is boon that you can show anything through video or images
as per need. It saves time and money too.
Then why writer of that story focuses only on negative aspects of that?
So what do you think……..???? may I ask you a question DOES LITERATURE LIE
???? ……OR ….????

Religiold
I have seen old people. I have seen young people. I have seen people growing young
and I have seen people growing old. I have seen people becoming very old at very young age.
I have seen religious one and I have seen atheist also. I have seen youth in age old people and
I have seen old age in young people.
Someone has rightly said that religion is opium. I have heard it from my sir that
religion is an opium and that’s why children should be kept away from it. As intoxication of
opium is very harmful for human body, in the same way intoxication of religion is very
harmful for human mind. Intoxication of Opium does not remain longer least, a time passes it
also got evaporate. But in the case of religion, it’s totally different it lasted for longer time it
does not get resolved slowly as time passes but it deepen and become stronger than it was.
One can’t get free easily
I observed some people especially young, I don’t interested in revealing their names
otherwise it will become personal. Frankly say I have habit of observing people and their
behavior and in that way I used to probe in Since last sometimes I have been observing some
people ( you can say group of people thinking in same manner).
Religion is the only thing of their discussion, religion holds central place of their talk.
But it doesn’t mean they are fool or sheople. They are intellectual enough to throw out
religion from their mind. But it is the only thing in their area of interest. I’m not saying it is
bad but, but it should be avoided especially at present -at this age, when you are very
energetic, full of spirit, full of passion, and enthusiasm and zeal. It is the time to live life in
its full of way. Above words are the characteristics of the youth….
But some people(it may be a group of the people or individual) because their attitude
and religion they could not live life simply and as other young are living. There may be other
reson/s, but as I observed and study them what I found is shocking for me. Can religion harm
human mind in that way? It can make someone old very old at very young age. Physically
they are young as like others, but mentally they are of 50s or 60s. religion has deep routed in
their mind that they are afraid of being free from its hold, they have fear of religion at level
that they do not enjoy their everyday life with fear that he/she might committed sin by doing
those things.
No one born with religion it is imposed over children from their birth Mr. so and so
from so and so family.. religion, cast etc. actually the problem or rather I would like to call it
disease RELIGIOLD, starts from very babyhood, the child In family see/ observes adult and
older members and their behavior, work, activities they do at home, in every rituals and
religious matters the parents of child always keep their child with them and in this way in that
way child complete his childhood and enters in adulthood he learns many things same as like
child learn to walk.

Does God Exist or Not ???
Do You believe in God ? If Yes then Why ? If not then Why ?
Yes, I am believer of God . I surely believe that God exists. But my perspective of
God is different. Many people say that they are non believer of God. And some of them say
that they can’t decide may be or not. or them , I think God is Situational element. And
those who believe in God , they have no particular answer why they believe in God.
But… When the word God is spoken many images and many temples pop in our
mind and we direct connect it with any religion. We have a leaders just like…..Priest, Pandit,

  • 4. Journey Of The Department ઉપડતી જીભ અટકે છે હ્દય પર ભાર લાગે છે ; બે બે વર્ષોની વાત છે કહેવામાાં થોડી વાર લાગે છે ! Two years are not short period to be in the new world - The Department of English. Those who don't travel through this , they don't know the value of the Department. No one can realise how beautiful it is ! Journey is always one way track. One can't pass through the same path in life. One can feel it, just live it and remembers it in life. Department of English is always inspirational for us . The journey of The Department - is the most precious journey for all of us. One has no idea how important a role 'The Department' play in shaping us. We have spent unforgotten days here. We all were strangers to each other when we first came to The Department. Now, They all become our 'Family' and Department is our 'HOME'. Our journey has been started from July, 2014. Journey never ends but it just start for the new aim. We learn so many things in the Department like.... Dedication to work, punctuality, self learning and hard work and extensive use of available time . Before we came here, we all were like unplanted plant which have nothing to give to society but Department nourish all of us with only work culture. we understand the importance of our dedication towards the work and things. Department mould us with softness and give much space of creativity which is restricted by society. Each day of the department is very precious for us because it gives lesson of something at the end of the day. "Daily Schedule" is the one of the most important part to increase our thinking capacity with critical points. We live together here, helping each other and the 'Sharing is the Caring' - is the motto of the Department. we all are grateful to respected our HOD Dr. Dilip Barad who gives each kind of amenities and care. He always directs us , teaches to take risks and says that it is only necessary thing to keep on walking. Our memories are connected with The Department.
  • 5. 'Memories last Forever' - and for that this Memorabilia plays very vital role to preserve the memory as it is. This Memorabilia is the collage of the Year 2015 - 16. All pieces of Arts, sweet memories and every things are in "Memorabilia - The Heart of 2015-16' which we are going to miss in our life. We both Bhumi Joshi and Pritiba Gohil very thankful to all students to help us to beautify this blank canvas with various colours. We are grateful to all classmates and friends. Let me write some name of my friends.......Pritiba Gohil, Milan Parmar, Ravi Bhaliya and Nimesh Dave who deserve special Thanks for their immense help to prepare this wonderful Memorabilia. by Bhumi Joshi.
  • 6.  From The Desk of The Department None of the monks can teach concentration better than the cat- family-animal-in-wait-for-prey. The task to edit this Memorabilia 2016 is not even an iota less than this. It requires similar sort of concentration, and that too for quite a prolonged time. The persistence and perseverance with which Bhumi Joshi and Pritiba Gohil have worked is amazing. Not only the number of pages has crossed 100 but also the richness of content speaks for the dedication of both of them. A special thanks to Ravi Bhaliya and Milan Parmar for organizing content and printing this Memorabilia. Having birds-eye view of this Memorabilia is like walking back on the memory lane. Not all revisits of memory are traumatic. There are sweet fragrance of flowery incidents and event which are yet not grown into anecdotes. Not even it is true to say that for teachers, the batches of students is like a rock rolled over the mountain by Sisyphus, just to see that it rolled down, again and again. The journey of walking with various batches of students is like pilgrim’s progress. The journey may not be strictly religious or spiritual, or may be it is quite opposite of it, but it is surely academic, intellectual and enlightening. The ‘progression’ of thoughts, the widening of mental horizons, understanding the universality of ideas are some of the key things which remain as a memory of teaching various batches. Same is true about batch 2014-16. It was yet another enriching experience. One of the best experiences was to see Vanita Tadha gaining tremendous confidence to perform in Daily Schedule as well as in project work. Along with her, the way Asmita Gond, Sonal Baraiya, Neha Mehta and Jayshree Solanki improved their level of academic involvement which got manifested in their project on Reading Habit is the real gain of education. Vanita Baldania and Daya Gohel’s participating in Mountaineering tracking at Junagadh was quite unique. Both of them shall be commended for this. I do not recall in last 7-8 years if any girl-student has participated in such ‘so-called- tough’ adventure sport events. The best of the human character is displayed when one stands with other human in their down moments. Vanita Baldania has
  • 7. displayed this unique aspect of human character. I hope the Department will see many such participation in coming years. This surely will be an example to be shared with upcoming batches to inspire them to participate in adventure sports. Such events play very important role in building human of great character and indomitable spirit. It was great to have creative poems from Ravi Bhaliya which enlivened Daily Schedule on several occasions. It would be great to see all poems compiled and published in book form. He along with Nikunj Bhatti, Kishan Kubavat and Sagar Ladhva has taken very good care of Laptop bank and all matters related to ICT. Their hard work shall be remembered by all as they took extra care for internet connectivity for other students and also managed things on public holidays. Every year, we are fortunate to have a few students who take care of Library books with utmost care. If we get the student who really loves the books, we need not worry about library. This year, Nimesh Dave and his team managed library with extra care and consideration. Daily Schedule is yet another very important feature of life at Department. Urvi Dave and her team, this year, looked after it with great affection. Baring a few days, the daily schedule was full of wonderful presentations. Ranjan Velari and Urvi worked on very interesting projects also. They participated in Global Conference and presented their research. It is such researches and participation of students in academic events that give academic acknowledgement to the Department as the hub of academic activities. Amidst the hustle and bustle of other students, there are many who silently worked for others. They are always ready to help the needy. They help and do not expect any recognition. I would like to put Radha Ghevariay, Devikaba Gohil, Vaishali Jasolia, Krupali Lewade, Pritiba Gohil, Nidhi Jasani (her winning position in Youth Festival for Mimicry was unique as it only she who got rank in this Rajatrang 2015) and Deepika Vaza in this type of students. This is not insignificant or trivial thing to have. Normally, people crave for recognition even if they have done nothing. To help and not to crave for recognition is ‘something’ really great. We can’t forget beautiful identity cards for which Sagar Ladhwa and his team worked very hard. Sagar should also be remembered for enriching general
  • 8. knowledge in Daily Schedule on new schemes of Government of India. That is something very important. Looking back in the memory gives some moments of regrets as well. It is remorseful when some students with talent do not perform owing to circumstances beyond their control or sometimes they themselves are the biggest hurdle for them, Jankiba Rana was toubled by her health and her mother’s and that resisted her from performing at her level best. Praful, Mayuri, Nisha and Hitesh should have been actively and willingly involved in academic and co-curricular activities. Even a single student left out unmotivated and not involved in academic activity is a failure of a teacher, in particular and of academic institute, in general. Well, the golden moments of any education system is live interaction of students with teachers. Though the class did not have many students who participated in discussions or raised disturbing questions, yet the contribution of Nimesh Dave, Dipti Vaghela, Milan Parmar and Bhumi Joshi cannot be ignored. They were ready to respond to the questions tossed in the class or were ready to ask the questions which were deeply inquisitive in nature and displayed curiosity of an ideal learner. Bhumi Joshi needs special mention for her participation is co-curricular activities, performing at her best in these activities, winning a few laurels and earning good name of the Department and leading with great conviction. She proved that the ‘leaders never complain’, leader see to it that the tasks on hand, however, difficult it may sound, must be completed. Along with it, her presence in classroom, active participation in discussion also makes stand apart, and well ahead of others. The real education is the one which stands by this stanza from Brihadaranyaka Upanishads (1.3.28): । From ignorance, lead me to truth । From darkness, lead me to light. With the sense of an ending of the journey of Batch 2014-16, I stand satisfied for, if not in all, at least in a few of students, this has been realised. Needless to say that I wish for the better future of the students and it goes without saying that I hope for the life full of restlessness and agitation, as it is in such struggles that we enjoy the life, the most! ~ Dilip Barad

  • 22. Use of Social Media :
  • 23.  Annual Reports: (1) Daily Schedule Committee : By Urvi Dave "The function of prayer is not to influence God, but rather to change the nature of the one who prays". Daily Schedule is a platform through which we get all kinds of knowledge. We start from Prayer, then Thought for the Day, News Reading, Vocabulary Drill, Personal Presentation, Opinion Building, Poetry Recitation, Regional Literature, Book Report, General Knowledge, Humor of the day and end with our National Song. The activities are a blessing for us as we get information about the academic and non- academic things. It updates our day to day knowledge and enhances our confidence as well as speaking skills. It is like a energy drink from which we get energized. Since our school time, we have been doing prayer and this tradition is going on here too. Prayers are done in various languages like English, Hindi, Gujarati and Sanskrit. These activities help the students to deal with their hidden talents. We also celebrate Hindi Day in which every event starting from Prayer to humor of the day is held in Hindi language. Students bring their creativity like poems, movie reviews, book reviews as it needs ideas to think and write review or a report. Students learn how to manage the things when they are anchoring in the Daily Schedule. Finally I am thankful to each member of the Daily Schedule Committee i.e. Vanita Tadha, Vanita Baldaniya, Jayshree Solanki, Ranjan Velari, Nimesh Dave, Ravi Bhaliya, Amee Sojitra, Nupur Vyas, Gopi Pipavat, Dipali Parmar, Divya Choudhary, Binaba Gohil who helped me in making the final report. A special thanks to Dr. Dilip Barad and Department of English for giving me an opportunity to handle all the things from which I also enhanced my skills and also my stage fear wiped away. (2) ICT Committee : By Milan Parmar Literature and science has always been at conflict, but in the department of English things are different. In department both literature and science walks together keep hand in hand. The second decade of this century is of information and technology and communication, these are inseparable parts of studies. In department of English students get
  • 24. chance to use various communicative tools to stay connect and to study with the world. In department different technological tools are used to make teaching process more enjoyable, more interesting and effective. We make use of various tools while studying literature. There are different committees in department for different purpose. ICT committee is one of them which take care of ICT tools like projectors, language lab, Music system, laptops and of internet connections. From the very first day in the department students are introduced with online entrance test to get admission in the department of English. Department is very progressive in matter of using and integrating technology in learning environment. One of the advantages of studying in this department is that you will learn many things regarding technology and web tools which are very helpful in teaching and learning process. It is because of our teacher Dr. Dilip Barad that we are able to use laptops and language lab. Computers and laptops are in ample numbers that all students can work. Department is facilitated with language lab. It has laptop bank that students can use. In laptop bank we have 17 laptops and 7 mini laptops. Students make use these tools for Gmail updates Google group activities Online group discussion Unit end tests To access information from web To prepare their assignments and publish it on www.blogger.com To make presentation and then to share it on www.slideshare.net Each and every students are given DVD of their presentation videos which are later uploaded on you tube channels created by student. When students are entered in the fourth semester, under the guidance of Dr.Dilip Barad students are taught to create their own Google sites ePortfolio. ePortfolios are the show case of students’ two years academic activities. Under the Shakshat project of blended learning headed by Dr. Dilip barad. Faculties make use of movie screening for the better understanding of literary texts. During this year we had seen many film adoptions of literary texts. There are Movies screening by Heenaba zala Gulivers’ Travel,Robinson Crusoe,Oliver twist,Short stories by Poe,The Scarlet Letter, The Old man and the sea,etc Movie screening by Dr. Dilip Barad
  • 25. Hamlet, Dr. Faustus, The Birth day Party, The waiting for Godot, To the Light House, Midnightchildrens' , Reluctant Fundamentalists, One night at the call centre, Harry Potter, etc The most difficult responsibility of ICT committee is to set up IP addresses whenever there is a new computer is connected to Ciscob, but this also worked out very well throughout last year with the great help from ICT members, Sagar Ladhva, Nikunj Bhatti, Kishan Kubavat, Vanita Tadha, Pritiba Gohil, Devikaba Gohil and my special thanks to Ravi Bhaliya and semester two boys. First of all I would like to thanks our HOD Dr. DIlip Barad that he provides such techno-Friendly environment in place like Bhavnagar. In last I would like to thanks all ICT members for their incredible help in duties of ICT committee and thanks to my classmates who always cooperate and helped us whenever there need arise. Thank you Department. (3) Bulletin Board Committee : By Asmita Gond Bulletin board is not only an educational gadget but I would like to say that it is a’ place’ where if anybody can entered and can grasp each and everything not only information but also various knowledge and creativities of different students. Bulletin board is the mirror of any institution which shows x-ray image of student’s ability of creation and expression, which runs with contribution of student’s creativities. “If you not willing to learn no one can help you If you are determined to learn no one can stop you” In our department of English students shares their various creativity like Poems, Drawings, short stories, Articles etc. Also bulletin board contains memories in form of collage which reminds us memories of our senior. So it is not only part of traditions but also it preserves all memories. It is our tradition to write thoughts and quotations into the ‘writing board’ by students as well as professors also. We have also bulletin boards into our classrooms, where students were putting various creativity in to the form of quotations, poems, or drawings which reflects positive image of living class rooms. Bulletin board also shows positive image of any institution because when any visitor will enter into department he/she will first observe notice board where he can found charts of student’s results, list of organized activities, etc. which creates positive image among other people. Bulletin board not only observes by visitors but also observe by our professors and they were also gives feedback and they also encourage students. In daily schedule whatever presented by students those things was also we put on notice board so that it can preserve as memorable creation.
  • 26. As a leader of Bulletin board committee I would like to say that all the bulletin board committee members has help me a lot to collect students creativity to count them and also to put into notice board. Here I found that how team work can make work easy and interesting. So Bulletin board is soul of our department which can helps us to enhance our ability and also our confidence level. So I would like to say thanks to Dr. Dilip Barad who encourages every day to students to put their creativity into notice board, and also he gives scope to show students’ abilities. So don’t say that notice board only gives us information but it also gives knowledge and self- confidence. (4) Gardening Committee : By Dipti Vaghela Before to starting the report of this committee I would to highlight some lines from the poem written by Harry Behn as under, ‘Trees are the kindest things I know, They do no harm, they simply grow And spread a shade for sleepy cows, And gather birds among the boughs.’ Here from this poem we can understand that how trees are important to living our life. Without them we can’t survive in the world. And if we believe that by growing trees we are doing something great but don’t think so. We are saving trees for our life and we must have to accept it. And from this perspective we must have to do that. So from this view we grew up many trees in our Garden of Department. And we make one committee for caring of the garden under the guidance of the head of the Department Dr. Dilip Barad. So let’s know How this committee doing work throughout the year. There are 23 members in this committee. There are many trees and many small plants in our Garden. There is one tradition of our Department related with this committee. Every year, one batch planting minimum one tree as the memory of the year. We celebrate Gardening day which was held on 20th July, 2015. On that day we planted some trees and some small plants. There is one photo from that wonderful memory.
  • 27. In our life we all are dependent on each other as same we are dependent on trees and they are on us. So as a part of Nature we must have to take care of each other. So throughout the year as a part of this committee we care all those trees. During some difficult moment for this Garden we were thinking that we may lose our Garden. Because there was plan to build new building on the area of our Garden but we requested to V.C that save this Garden. Then after that effort they change their plan and we can save our trees. Thus, Garden is the place where students take their lunch and have fun in the Garden. So our happiest movements we passed in the Garden. Thanks to Dilip Sir for build up such a wonderful place as a part of the Department of English. (5) Library committee : By Nimesh Dave Library is essential in a process of giving students access to knowledge. In present times they are needed more than ever before. Most importantly, however, libraries are the places where you can expect smart and clear answers to even most difficult questions. As Neil Gaiman says: “Google can bring you back 100,000 answers, a library can bring you back the right one.” Celebration of Gardening day
  • 28. Department of English, MKBU is full of various facilities, one of them is our Library. Earlier it used to happen that all the students has to go to the university library for books. But since few years we are able to create our own library with large number of books, next to our classroom. And every year numbers of books are increasing. Thanks to Dr. Dilip Barad sir for that. Department strongly believes in the idea that -To build up a library is to create life. It’s never just a random collection of books. Here it is appropriate to quote the words of Harold Howe that "What an institution thinks about its library is a measure of what it feels about education." And Department is one such place where lot of planning and preparation is done for better & effective management of library. Every year with the admission of new students, we elect library committee and a Leader. And throughout the year these students run the library. Every student takes maximum advantage of library. Not only students but also visiting faculties and Research scholar also regularly visit Library. We have so many novels, plays, CD - DVD of so many texts adapted into films, Audio - visual content & reading material of SCOPE to improve LANGUAGE, UGC-NET preparation books, books of theory and criticism as well as so many reference books. The list can be extended....!! It is appropriate to quote here Woolf and Sheldon.... "I ransack public libraries, and find them full of sunk treasure." –Virginia Woolf "Libraries store the energy that fuels the imagination. They open up windows to the world and inspire us to explore and achieve, and contribute to improving our quality of life." –Sidney Sheldon Working as a leader of Library committee is amazing experience, though it is a bit difficult task. There may be hardly a single day when I don't have opened library. we don't have fixed any time limit for library. Any time, any one, while working hour may come and say I want to issue books !!!! (Sometimes during recess while taking lunch also!!!!!) & we have never denied to anybody. These are the life skills I've acquire while studying in Department. Dedication and commitment I learn from here. All the students, madam and especially Dilip Sir are great supporters, without their cooperation effective management of library could not be possible. And I hope that students of coming batches will carry this tradition & give their contribution in growth and development of Department and library.
  • 29. (6) Celebration Committee : By Pritiba Gohil “Sometimes you will never know the true value of a moment until becomes a memory.” Very well said that sometimes you will never know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory. And things becomes memory only when it is celebrated very well. So today what I am going to talk about is celebration. Celebration is part our life. “Life is a celebration, Enjoy it well”. Celebrations of every functions is a part of Indian culture and this same culture is followed by our Department of English. In our department we celebrates so many things like i.e. Navratri Celebration, Birthday celebration etc. This year we celebrated so many things and festivals like International Yoga Day, Gardening, Guru Purnima, Welcome Function, Teachers Day, Hindi Divas, Blood Donation Camp, Youth Festival, Christmas Eve, Samuh Bhojan, Picnic, Kite Flying Festival, Navratri, Vegetables Day, Signature Day etc. We also celebrates Birthdays of Students of our Department of English and Birthdays of Poets and writers because Birthdays are very special day of some one’s life. So on the Birthday of Students we make Birthday card for them and wishes them a great future ahead. This is also part of our tradition in the Department. This celebrations of events is a part of our education. Our Department of English provides us all the things to make ourselves happy. With the help of this kind of festivals we learns that How To Celebrates Life because our life is also one kind of celebration itself. At last I want to thank you all the members of Celebration Committee. Thank you to all of you and a very Special Thanks to our Sir Prof. Dr. Dilip Barad that he provides this kind of things in our Department of English that we also learns lessons from life with our studies. So, thank you to all of you. Life is what you celebrate.
  • 30. (7) Creative Writing Committee : By Bhumi Joshi It is said that ........"Artists are born not made." This is quite new idea to share with all of you that many of us decide to use The Department as professional stage to share creativity and promotes to those who have the quality of an Artist. Creativity can be taught but it must be nurtured, too. Mostly creativity lies within but it remains hidden because of lack of proper platform. First of all I am very grateful to Dr. Dilip Barad that he gave the chance to create new committee with the name of 'Creative Writing Committee' in which students can share their own things like.... their poetry, article, short stories or anything. it mean it should be written by student himself. All students have different abilities. Some are expert in Rangoli, Some are in Music or song, Some are in Elocutions and some are in writing. Means Each has different quality in different field which is connected with Art. Such things can't be imposed to anyone. It lies within. So, this committee promotes students as writer, as singer, as speaker, as painter etc... with the facilitate to their art. Creativity can be taught only when one is interested in it and have basic sagacity for it but it must be nurtured. It is considered as much spontaneous rather than force. Students are free to share their views, messages and anything which is done by them in department. For this I also thankful to Daily Schedule committee and Celebration committee . In daily schedules students share their Poems, Gazals, Hayku, critical writing and other forms of writing. In this committee we arranged different competitions during the Youth Festival as the part of " Youth festival Selection". We arranged Elocution competition, Essay Competition, Online Quiz Competition, Rangoli Competition, SwaRachitKavya Pathan Competition, Mono Act Competition, etc... Such different competitions offer the stage to students show their art to people and get opportunity to grow in particular field. I also thankful to members of Creative writing committee and all my classmates and dear juniors and specially Pritiba ,Dipti, Milan, Ravi who support to do work during the year. we are beginning this from present year and I hope that this will be continue in upcoming years also by dear Juniors to make it more creative for Creative Writing Committee . Thank You.
  • 31. (8) About Picnic : By Pritiba Gohil “It’s about the journey, Not the Destination” Picnic is very important part of education system and as per my understanding all students are waiting eagerly for the day of Picnic. Our Department of English also organizes picnic every year. But important thing of this Department is all students will decides that where they want to go. Picnic is planned out by all the students and this time this opportunity is taken by me. At first stage this thing is not very easy to plane out picnic very easily. This thing needs help and I got help from all my friends and from all my classmates. This time we all are very excited because in a history of Department of English it happened very first time that we arranged picnic at very far place from Bhavnagar. And that places are Diu and Somnath Temple located in Prabhas Patan near Veraval in Saurashtra on the western coast of Gujarat. And because of this all students are very excited for picnic. We planned to start our journey on 11th of January 2016 on Monday at 11:30 p.m. in the night, 12th of January 2016 - Tuesday is the day of picnic and we reach back to
  • 32. Bhavnagar on 13th of January 2016 Wednesday in the night around 2 or 3 a.m. this one day picnic becomes picnic of two days picnic. We started our journey on 11th of January 2016 on Monday at 11:30 p.m. in the night but our bus reached late at our department we leaved department around 1:30 in the night. Then first we reached Diu in the morning and we take our breakfast there and we saw so many things there like Diu fort, beaches, some temples, some historical places, church, museum etc. we take our lunch there and then we go to beach called Nagva beach and after that we leaved Diu for Somnath. We reached there in the evening, visited this Somnath Temple famous for Lord Shiva we take our dinner there. We tried to see light and fountain show there but unfortunately that show was cancelled and after that we leaved Somnath Temple at 10 p.m. for reaching Bhavnagar. We reached Bhavnagar at 5 a.m. in the morning on 13th January 2016 on Wednesday. This one day picnic became picnic of 2 nights and 1 day picnic. But as it is said that it’s all about journey, not about destination. We enjoyed a lot and had a great picnic. At last I want to thank you our Prof. Dr. Dilip Barad sir for making this trip very happy and awesome. And I am very thankful to Part sir too for his support. The thing is Heena Ma’m is not part of this picnic this time and because of that we missed her so much. Specially I want to thank all the Boys of Semester – 4 to Ravi Bhaliya, Kishan Kubavat, Nikunj Bhatti, Sagar Ladhva, Nimesh Dave, Milan Parmar and Hitesh Galthariya. So, I heartily thanking you to all of you for making this long distance picnic possible without any hurdles. Thank you to all my classmates and our juniors too. Thank you to all of you for making our last picnic .........“Find JOY, In your Journey” (9) Documentation Committee : By Bhumi Joshi "Lack of documentation is becoming a problem for acceptance." Documentation has played the most significant role and it is the important side of institution during the year. Documentation is a big word. In the Department Of English we all do academic and non academic activities during the entire year. Documentation is just like foot prints which shows the path to next generation and hand over the tradition. In the Department of English we have done so many activities and this documentation shows the efforts of the students and their achievements. New term has been begun with the
  • 33. grand celebration of "The First International Yoga Day" on 21/June/2015.This documentation is the reflection of students what they have done during the year. The Department of English provide much free space to do things whichever students want to do. We have different committees like..... ICT committee, Gardening committee, Library committee, Bulletin Board committee, Celebration committee, Creative Writing committee, and Documentation committee, Each committee has its leader and they do their work creatively and with sincerity. They are free to take decision for their committee. We preserve our sweet memories. It is not individual's responsibility but it's team work. It is an Institution. To maintain huge building we have to notify first minor pillar. The same way, this committee take care of every student's activities and events. It is footprint which we left behind us and create new vision for next generation . In Department Students are free to share their Arts, Views , and thoughts and other creative and critical views about anything. In this memorabilia we record everything so that it can be preserve the generation and direct to new generation. and everything is preserved in the form of images, videos and other written documents, It is a journey of memory. It gives much pleasure. Some great activities and grand achievements are notified here . Students gets the precious opportunity to show their Arts and Skills. In this year, there are 5 Ph.D Viva Voice had been done in the department and the luckily Dr. Dilip Barad is the guide of the three out of five. Thus, research facilities are also scholar. Department has sufficient material to guide all of them. Then movie shows the real problems and relations of people after Independence and how people used to live in ‘60s. The lower class people are untouchable and they used to work at lower grade, do not allow to use public sources. One of Dashrath’s friend burned into brick stone manufacturing place, after that Dashrath and his friend doing philosophy about the death and powerless lives. This particular scene was shot after astronomical twilight. Where whole sky is blue (Blue color is use for hope & powerless). Movie is based on love story, but romance in this movie is very unusual. They fight for his love but movie is not based on that. Movie is based on if you loved someone what you can do for her/him. Dashrath want to break mountain but he was facing many external and internal problem, but there is a will there is a way. A movie shows how hard he worked and face, so many problems. Acting of Nawazuddin Siddiqui is as usual real like character have to be. Radhika Apte also doing a great work in acting. Tigmanshu Dhulia is a master of doing high class bihari role as in GOW. Other actors also done his/her part very good. Direction of movie is wonderful with good cinematography. After seeing this movie I can deduce that for the success either you need AIM or LOVE. Bill Gates, Steave Jobs, Ratan Tata might be have AIM in their life and that’s why they succeed, and people like Dashrath Manhji, Chrish Gardner (real life story same as this movie “the pursuits of happyness (2007) ” have LOVE with someone.

(2) Nikunj Bhatti Sem- 4 Brothers ‎ Brothers released on this riday which has been officially adapted from the critically acclaimed 20 Hollywood movie Warrior, directed byGavin O’Connor. The story displays dispute between Two brothers, David (Akshay) and Monty (Sidharth), both having their own reasons to get on to the battlefield as street fighters. Where Akshay Kumar appeared to be a perfect choice for the role of David. The Khiladi of Bollywood is always a desirable watch when it comes to action, and with his balanced performance and conviction in Brothers, Akshay ruled most of the movie. But on the other hand Sidharth Malhotra has done good work and has given justice to his role. According to my point of view this movie is an awesome because we are habituated with watching a mingling of emotion with Action packed drama nd therefore it is appreciated for the action lovers. Akshay Kumar represent his role as Teacher. As we saw him as Professor in Gabbar Is Back . So the concept of teacher can change the world of thinking and sense in life is observable. Teacher can be at the stage of learn and relearn of small to the big things one can motivational for students in life. Moreover, if you haven’t watched Warrior, this could be a novelty for you! As First part of the movie it is like Family and emotional which touches to the hearts of millions of viewers and the second is like watching WWE! However,

Though it has very weak plot construction but the pasteurization, cinematography and unique style of presenting makes it simply best. Starring – Leonardo DiCaprio, Ken Watanabe, Ellen Page Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Tom Berenger, Michael Caine What is in ? – “Inception” the title itself creates a doubt that what is in the movie or Inception is about what. The movie at the very beginning or we can say that from the very title it captures the attention of audience. The movie is made in between the dream and the reality. Moreover the long part capture with dream sequence because it is at the centre. The central character rather protagonist of this movie is Cobb. The movie made in a very brutal massing where audience also lost themselves and with that maze Nolan tests us with his own dazzling maze. The movie is not only beautiful at the story but portrayed the images and scenes are also extraordinary. The story can be wind up in few sentences or not told at all. The movie is all about process about fighting our way through invasive sheets of reality and dream, reality within dreams, dreams without reality. This movie also considered as a breathtaking manage act. The story of this movie or screenplay starts by Nolan while he may have considered his ‘Momento’ a warm-up. This movie is about the fragmented relationship of the dream and the reality. People or audience never realizes that when they are in dream or reality if they aren’t attentive with this movie. It is just like “Bhulbhuliya” in between the dream and the reality. If they are not attentive they don’t know that when they’re dreaming and what if they’re inside another man’s dream? How does their dream time synch with his. Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a corporate robber of the highest order. He infiltrates the mind of other men to steal their ideas. This is very good

He is hired by a powerful billionaire to do the opposite; to introduce an idea into a rival’s mind and do it so well he believes it is his own. But the mind is very powerful that it must catch the foreign ideas. So it is very difficult to put our ideas in other mind because minds are very alert. Cobb is agreeing with Saito to do this work. Likewise he assembles a team to complete the task. The team is like- Arthur (Joseph Gordom – Levitt), his longtime associate; Eames (Tom Hardy), a master at deception; Yusuf (Dileep Rao), a master chemist. Cobb goes to touch base with his father-in-law Miles (Michael Caine), who knows what he does and how he does it. And the new recruit, Ariadne (Ellen Page), a brilliant young architect who is prodigy at creating spaces. Meanwhile she asked the reason about the creating space in the dream and Cobb explain to her that dreams have a shifting architecture. Cobb need her to create a maze or inception and introduce in the mind of rival’s mind and stolen his idea that he thought for his further corporation. She tries to create maze twice and third time she successful to influenced Cobb by her work. The scene of how she creating a maze is very beautifully by film director. It is marvellous. Does literature lie or it expresses universal truth?, that is the question arise in my mind while studying literature. I want to put forward my arguments with the books like Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, Dr, Faustus by Christopher Marlowe, a story that is in the 12th English and even Paradise Lost by John Milton. Let me start by Dr. Faustus – a play by Christopher Marlowe. Setting of this play is in Renaissance era. Very impressive description is given in the first monologue. He is the scholar from the university from of Wittenberg. He has acquired all the knowledge available at that time, like history, economics, medicine, law, physics and many other fields. I can say that he has acquired such a large quantity of knowledge in 16th century that may not have common people of 21st century. Dr. Faustus was synonym of knowledge. But then even he was not satisfied with the knowledge he has!!!!!!!! He was still hungry for more knowledge. And then to gain more knowledge he makes contract with Mephistopheles- a devil, that Mephistopheles will give him power and after 24 years Faustus will give her soul to devil. Dr. Faustus willingly accepts this!!!!! And Ultimately, Faustus in last monologue regrets and suffers a lot and dies a tragic death. Now my point is that why knowledge is portrayed in negative shade by writer. The question in my mind is that whether writers know universal- ultimate truth or they (writers) are also biased? Is knowledge really destroy person or writer portrays it like this because the contemporary society believed so? If we glance in the field of science and technology then we come to know that knowledge of anything is becoming boon for mankind. Edison, Newton, Einstein etc scientist were also hungry for more knowledge, and it is because of their thrust for knowledge we ‘ve electricity, technological gadgets, mobiles, heavy machinery, mobiles, engines, transportation, progress in aeronautics (space), internet etc. all these things are essential part of our day to day life. If these things won’t be there then we are still like cave men. what is the difference between them and us. Modern progress and development became possible only possible because of basic human nature- desire to know more. Now if one tries to get knowledge what is wrong in that – that he is portrayed in negative way and given tragic end to his life.
  • 67. Person like Faustus and Victor Frankenstein are like candle. they burn themselves and give light to others. It is only because of their sacrifice personal lives and hard work, we enjoy all the privileges of our lives. Another example is victor Frankenstein- a protagonist of the novel ‘ rankenstein’ by Mary Shelley. He was an eccentric scientist, who wants to know the secret of life. He gives so many years of his lives to the research that it is possible to make dead person alive by electricity. And after a dedicated, determined hard work of long time he did so. He joints the different parts of the corpse and creates a monster- life into a dead one!!!!!!!!! And then the novel is full of suffering and pain of victor. He loses all his near and dear- father, mother, brother and even his beloved Elizabeth. (all killed by monster) and ultimately victor dies a tragic death. Now again the question comes into my mind is that why Mary Shelley gave tragic end to Victor? Why gaining a secrets of life- knowledge is curse rather than boon in the novel? Is this the warning to the 21st century people ( or any living being) that don’t run behind knowledge otherwise you will also suffer like Victor!!!!!!! Is any writer can see what we common people cannot see? Or is it true that “ Knowledge is unhappiness and Ignorance is bliss ? Or writers are also biased ? or they have done injustice to their character. Because they cannot think beyond social norms. Renaissance and Romanticism was a time when people were slowly and steadily coming out from dark age towards light. People have started to develop scientific approach in their life. Rather than religion science was predominating every spheres of life.If writer is universal genius then why he prefers religion over science? To please few groups of people? To earn money? Or to treat people? Even the same case with the Paradise Lost by John Milton. Where God punishes Adam and Eve for eating a fruit of knowledge. But why???? What is wrong in that??? In developed countries like U.S, Japan and many others have prepared highly modern robots. Slowly we are moving into the era of robotic culture. Recently I have read in newspaper that Robots are used as a waiters in restaurant. Recently there was soccer competition of robots, which was won by Australia. NASA is also sending robots into space. List is long…………… My point for talking about the role of robots in 21st century is that IN ONE OR THE ANOTHER WAY ROBOTS ARE ALSO EQUAL TO THE MONSTER OF FRANKENSTEIN. Basic idea to create like into dead one by electricity is taken from. Traces of this idea is into the mind of Victor Frankenstein. It (Robots) is becoming boon for us then why Monster becomes curse for Victor?? Or because of that era writer don’t realize its importance. Should we think in this way or it is indication (like movie Robot) that this artificial intelligence will one day create problem for its creator??? One more example that I give that is a story from 12th English.
  • 68. The setting of this story is 2094- in future and in this story technology is portrayed as villainous. It is a story of a school girl who don’t like her mechanical teacher. ( mechanical teacher means computer) there was a computer in her room where she used to study whole day. There was some error in her mechanical teacher , so that girl was relaxed- felling happy. But her mother calls technician and makes computer functioning well. Then her grandfather gives her book about school but that girl hates even name of school. Then her grandfather tells her story – once there were TEACHERS ( HUMAN BEING) to teach children. Then girl speaks beautiful sentence that HOW CAN A MAN BE A TEACHER? ( because of high technological era she was taught only by the computers.) The girl exclaimed that I will not allow any unknown person to enter into my ho use. At that time her grandfather laughed and replied that teachers do not come home to teach you. There was separate rooms and buildings for students. All boys and girls were going there to study. It was a place called school. Then there is wonderful description of REAL SCHOOL. The girl lost into the stories of her grandfather & thinks about the days THEY HAD.- A DAY OF REAL SCHOOL. Where everyone was studying, laughing, playing, enjoying together.( helping each other in homework, going school on bicycle, a time when teachers were real man) REALLY EDUCATION-SCHOOL WAS NOT MONOTONOUS AS IT IS NOW!!!!!!!!!!! This story, like many other stories is an futuristic vision of writer, that what kind of schools will be there in the days to come. That school will be in your drawing room. Teachers will be replaced by the computers and lifeless, dull, monotonous teaching –learning will be there. Education won’t be interesting as it is now. Computers can give you knowledge but it can’t give you love, affection and sympathy which teacher can. If teachers will be replaced by the computers then it will kill the basic spirit of children. This is the thing I think writer wants to tell through this story. Now the question comes in my mind is that why educational technology is shown as harmful ? as I have asked in earlier parts , that same question can be ask here again also.( as generally it is said and believed in literature) if writers are extraordinary human being with futuristic insight then will it be true what he is telling in his story? Is it a prediction for human race or HE IS A TRADITIONAL, ORTHODOX PERSON WHO CANNOT THINK BEYOND SOMETHING. I have read and observed that new things (invented) are not easily accepted by the people. You will be surprised to know that when electricity was invented, most of the people were protesting it, rather than supporting it. Now can you live today without electricity??? ( it means that contemporary people were wrong) so writers are also part of that society who don’t realize the importance of new thing. During Industrial Revolution heavy machinery was invented. At that time also people were protesting it- that it will replace human being. There are still some people who prefer bullock cart over tractors in agriculture ( farming) My point is that every new things faces
  • 69. problems initially. Contemporary people with traditional, orthodox mentality faces problems in accepting new things. IS THIS THE SAME CASE IN THIS STORY??????? EVERY coin has two side. I am not denying negative parts of any. My point particularly about this story is that – think about the positive changes technology can bring in teaching- learning process. Audio, video, images and internet can give far better learning experience which only teacher and ‘chalk and talk method’ can’t. Teacher, even though efficient , master and specialist in his subject cannot explain the outside world really as it is. By sitting in your classroom you cannot explain the glory of the African Jungle, but you can do that easily by showing video. You can neither go in space nor explain SPACE ( stars, galaxy, planets) but you can show images and videos about that to do it in better. way.It is proved through research that Audio- Visual teaching aids creates better understanding as well as this points goes into long term memory of student. Volcano, flood, earthquake, water- air pollution, internal body mechanism, historically important places, rivers, wonders of the world………etc… for students it is not possible to visit but technology is boon that you can show anything through video or images as per need. It saves time and money too. Then why writer of that story focuses only on negative aspects of that? So what do you think……..???? may I ask you a question DOES LITERATURE LIE ???? ……OR ….???? Milan Parmar sem- 4 Religiold I have seen old people. I have seen young people. I have seen people growing young and I have seen people growing old. I have seen people becoming very old at very young age. I have seen religious one and I have seen atheist also. I have seen youth in age old people and I have seen old age in young people. Someone has rightly said that religion is opium. I have heard it from my sir that religion is an opium and that’s why children should be kept away from it. As intoxication of opium is very harmful for human body, in the same way intoxication of religion is very harmful for human mind. Intoxication of Opium does not remain longer least, a time passes it also got evaporate. But in the case of religion, it’s totally different it lasted for longer time it does not get resolved slowly as time passes but it deepen and become stronger than it was. One can’t get free easily I observed some people especially young, I don’t interested in revealing their names otherwise it will become personal. Frankly say I have habit of observing people and their behavior and in that way I used to probe in Since last sometimes I have been observing some people ( you can say group of people thinking in same manner).
  • 70. Religion is the only thing of their discussion, religion holds central place of their talk. But it doesn’t mean they are fool or sheople. They are intellectual enough to throw out religion from their mind. But it is the only thing in their area of interest. I’m not saying it is bad but, but it should be avoided especially at present -at this age, when you are very energetic, full of spirit, full of passion, and enthusiasm and zeal. It is the time to live life in its full of way. Above words are the characteristics of the youth…. But some people(it may be a group of the people or individual) because their attitude and religion they could not live life simply and as other young are living. There may be other reson/s, but as I observed and study them what I found is shocking for me. Can religion harm human mind in that way? It can make someone old very old at very young age. Physically they are young as like others, but mentally they are of 50s or 60s. religion has deep routed in their mind that they are afraid of being free from its hold, they have fear of religion at level that they do not enjoy their everyday life with fear that he/she might committed sin by doing those things. No one born with religion it is imposed over children from their birth Mr. so and so from so and so family.. religion, cast etc. actually the problem or rather I would like to call it disease RELIGIOLD, starts from very babyhood, the child In family see/ observes adult and older members and their behavior, work, activities they do at home, in every rituals and religious matters the parents of child always keep their child with them and in this way in that way child complete his childhood and enters in adulthood he learns many things same as like child learn to walk.
